(Look inside the yellow circle)
I saw that in the last batch of screens posted on the news section. It looks a bit like a maserati advertisement, interesting...

Lots of details in the background good job PD.

Gonna have to zoom that in for us. I think thats the sort of thing they would want people to pick up on.

idk, it looks like Renault to me, with the badge.

But the car does look a little like a Maserati, its the text we need to see though.

I think the "Maserati" in the "advert" is in fact a Quattroporte. The large grill and silver emblem in the middle of it give it away to me IMO.

Well, they were photographing (and taking sounds?) from that GT (maybe Quattroporte?) in a couple pics that were shown here on GTP.

The Renault badge would be all silver, but in this pic you see a blue lower section to the mysterious emblem, and that to me, gives it away as Maserati,:).

Considering that the real to game comparisons of Rte 246 are down to a "tree" (cheap word play) it might just be a real life ad, and not a hint.

It is a Maserati ad though.

Having googled the Maserati badge, and taking a closer look, i'm almost certain it is, you're right :)

That would be fantastic! Maserati are an icon car manufacturer in my opinion.

If we could only get Porsche and the McLaren F1.

The ad is for the Maserati Quattroporte. The ad above is also for what looks like the Bentley Continental GT.

It's not a confirmation, but it does look pretty promising if Polyphony has been allowed to use both cars as in-game ads.

It is a Maserati ad, and it is there in real life as is the Bentley ad above it. So not proof of either brands cars being in GT5 unfortunately.

Evidence courtesey of Google maps.

Man it's sick that they even copy ads into their game. But why do that when you don't have the car in your game, that is about cars? I remember there being an ad in GT4 on the new york track, and I think it was for chrysler. That one must have been there IRL too then?

Oh wow. 👍

But they did take their own photos / screenshots though. The posters are not the same.

More probable is the ads shown on the Rte 246 GT5 are from 2008, and these are the new ads, Maserati "claimed" those billboards.

They probably have to be different due to copyright.

Well then why bother making new ones at all? I'm sure the gaming community isnt anal enough to care if such a minor detail is missing from a real-life based track.

I would imagine Maseratis would be included. They have a pretty close relationship with Ferrari, and now that Ferrari is officially in I would say Maseratis would be a no brainer.

They had a closer relationship with Fiat back when Fiat first appeared in the GT series right up to GT4, t's only recently that Ferrari bought Maserati from Fiat which may sound odd since Fiat owns Ferrari but it's not in the business world. One company owning or having a close relationship with another means nothing when licensing is concerned. There's as good a change Maserati appears in GT5 as any other manufacturer, barring manufacturers with exclusive agreements already in place such as Porsche who's chances of appearing are highly unlikely due to thier exclusive licensing agreement with EA.

If one comapny could be in simply becasue it has a close relationship wth another then we would have had Ferrari, Porsche and Lamborghini a long time agao, they all are owned/ work closely with other manufacturers. Lamborghini is owned by VAG, Porsche is art owned by VAG, Ferrari is owned by Fiat. It's all irrelevant in this situation.

As for the posters, I may be wrong about it being copyright, I'm not sure on the legality of them replicating another companies poster. It could simply be a different poster has been put up since the photo's for Google maps were taken and that's what PD have put in. Eitherway you could question why bother making thme at all, they're rather minor details, but either way that attention to detail is one of the things that makes GT special.

Im impressed with that detail. But that other post with them photographing the car...is that anything to go off? they have obviously, at some level, put effort into modelling it.

I thought it was already confirmed, as we see shots of the PD boffins taking photos, Maserati is linked with Ferrari, and I remember seeing a shot of the PD office where someone was moddling a Gransport...or 3200GT...one of the two.
