* Typically the Cool Wall rules dictate that if a year isn't posted then it's the newest form of the car. However Ardius posted a 3 door model in his post so that would make it a 1986.

A bit of a contradiction in terms, as this car dosnt meet any of my usual criteria for being a cool car, but there is something about this particular model (and it has to be the 3door mk1) that I really love.

WOW,That thing is awful,lets see its a Ford,its UGLY,and well lets just say UNCOOL.

First time I saw or heard of this car, it was a vid of the Birmingham Superprix BTCC race.

I have been in love ever since.

Sub Zero.

Never liked the styling of the Cossies.

UNCOOL

Ford = Uncool
Cosworth = Sub-Zero
Spoiler = Legendary

Therefore: Cool, with a lean towards sub-zero

it is just a masterpiece of car building! like the escort COSSI too... I used to have a RS2000 before my current car (see sinature)... i tought about buying a cossi (escort) but they are way to rare in germany and still a bit too expensive for that y.o.m. (i guess last cossis have been nuilt 1996?)...

This is the reason I nominated it. Legendary touring car, and it effectively single-handedly caused most series to start the switch to 2.0 limited fields because it dominated so much.
Also, like previously stated, its a bad car made awesome.

It also helped that I used to have lots of toys of it, be it matchbox, scalextric or whatever. (I loved the Texaco and Duckhams liveries best).

Sub Zero for me, but if I was voting without nostalgia, I'd vote cool.

Cool.

If it was an RS500 it would be sub-zero... that video brings back so many good memories... exactly how tin top racing should be.

Cool, I wouldn't mind driving one. Too bad we only got the normal Sierra here(was branded as a Merkur)

Maybe when it was new, but now its an ASBO, council estate, post office robbing, drinking lager from a can outside you local supermarket, overhyped, ugly, not that good either, normally molested by road racer, fundamentally a Ford Sierra type uncool car.

The only guy I knew that had one was sent down for fencing stolen car parts... his was a cut and shut.... actually his was just an XR4×4, but it's all the same to me.

If the Escort Cosworth was subzero, this one has to be cryogenically frozen.

mere cool. It's a Sierra, and despite hormone injection by Cosworth, it's still a dreadful car that looks like a whale.

There are various driver images associated with the Cossie none of them even remotely cool. I love this car to bits and I will always cherish my ANdy Rouse signed photo of his BTCC racer. My godfather had one of the first RS500's and my god did it go. He was a top Formula 1 engineer but you can bet that everyone that saw the car pass thought he was a joyrider, drug-dealer or used car salesman and for those reasons IMO the Sierra Cossie is unfortunately seriously uncool.

Don't live in the UK. Don't have ASBOs. Don't have Sierra Cossies, either. But we had races on TV... and the mouth-watering image of touring cars faster than Formula cars blazing down the main straight will forever remain subzero to me.

I struggled with this one but begrudgingly voted uncool. It's a car with fabulous heritage and fantastic performance, ruined by the reputation it's gained as an archetypal idiot car. I weep a little inside when I look at the ruined ones in magazines like Fast Ford or see one on the road with an exhaust like a plant pot.

There's a cool car inside waiting for a time when it becomes an unmolested classic rather than a chav-chariot.

Mmm, agreed. It took me a few days to come to a decision, but...

...yeeeah.

Uncool for me as well. Not only do I prefer the Escort's look, like many powerful 4-cyl cars the only ones you see nowadays are the ones that are absolutely flogged to death. Sometimes literally.
