Pao is good, too! :)

It seems incredibly wasteful to go about achieving a LMP just to do the Clubman Cup. Like trying to put your underwear on over your pants. :indiff: Maybe it's just me...:indiff:

I know,i'm just being really mean to those noobz who are after overkill and not competition.

Light Weight K Cup : Honds S800 Race Car, Diahatsu Copen(modded)
-----------------

For the Kei Cup, if it's a modded car, the tuned Honda Beat will um, "beat" the Copen (more horsepower at 143 BHP max, and lighter weight).

(It's also a veritable little giant killer in the Compact cups for instance, but *shhh*, don't tell anyone - it'll run rings around much bigger cars on twisty tracks like Hong Kong!)

--------------
Boxer Spirit : Any Impreza Rally Car
------------

For Max Overkill, the Ruf CTR2 (944 BHP tuned and 4WD) would own all Imprezas.

Toyota 7 Race car will dominate in Japanese Compacts, but you'd have to win it first. Same for the Suzuki GSX/R. Also TommiKaira ZZ-S.
Best cheap 'always-available' starter (and sleeper) cars here would be the Mirage Cyborg, Honda CRX '90 and the Del Sol SiR, followed by the Miatas and the Fairlady 2000 (SR311) '68 which can also compete in the World Classics once tuned. Always a keeper, that.

Ok,i'd add the Honda Beat. The first time i played GT4,i used the fully tuned Ruf CTR2 and didn't really liked the handling too much, but i'd add it in anyways.

Thought i'd add,I had a Mazda 787B in my garage when i did the Sunday Cup

The most hilarious overkill I've found is in the Nissan Z-race series. You can enter in a Motul Pitwork-Z!

Seeing as there are lots of questions like "which is the best car for ____ race" I thought I'd make a list for this.Still a W.I.P.

Wow, with this info above I'll never have to look at the countless threads and posts that go into detail about every aspect of my GT driving experience. This will also eliminate my need to do a easy search to find any old info that is obviously not needed. 💡

Weren't you like...totally bored with the overkill? It's like a 5th-degree black belt showing up to a kindergarten brawl!

I just used the Bread Van.

Going for 1 A-Spec point races is like pretending to be handicapped at the Special Olympics.

I am not the only one that remembers the south park episode...

But yeah what's the point in a 1 point race (no pun intended)

I'd say the point was rather than the racing, simply to find out what the most powerful car would be for a certain event (hence, Max Overkill).

Of course, you don't have to actually *use* it. But suppose one day you get a bit peeved after the 2348th time the oh-so intelligently programmed AI puts up a 'hare' which runs away 10 secs from the entire field in one single lap... in such cases, knowledge is power :dopey:

-----------
Roadster 4 Hours Endurance : Any Tuned Mazda MX-5
--------

Wouldn't the TVR Griffith outclass it here? Or the AC/Shelby Cobra? (Miata gets up to only about 370 BHP tuned max, I think.)

That endurance is MX5/Miata only i'm afraid. And i think the best roadster for the spider/roadster cup is probably the VX220/Speedster or Elise 111R. Tuned to the max these can easily beat those two. Or you could go with the Merc SL65 AMG, thats also good.

The point is that while close races are fun, every now and then it's fun to laugh at the AI cars as they become specks in your rear view mirror.

Had enough of that in GT2. Any race in the Escudo, the entire pack is behind you by the first corner. The only exception is the 2 pikes peak challenge races, in which you race against other Escudos...

When I first read the title of this thread I thought to myself, what's the point? I still think that, there are thousands of combinations you could come up with and what does 1 point matter to anybody? No offence intended, i'm sure it will be useful for somebody, but think if you did every single race in the entire game for 1 point how boring would that be?

There is no real point to A-spec points anyway, strictly speaking. Some races award less than 9 points but are nevertheless just as hard or even harder than some 200-point races (been in such situations lots of times by now, there just is no real correlation between difficulty and points levels).

I guess the point - if there was one - is to find out what the car is that the AI would fear most if you showed up in it for a certain event :mischievous: ...and to know which vehicle to use if you'd get thrashed in some races no matter what you'd try.

Other than that, it would indeed usually be way too easy - but as said, this list would be about stats knowledge, basically, rather than racing. Knowing about it isn't the same as *using* it, after all.

PS. "CIVIC Race : Gathers Drider CIVIC Race Car" - I doubt this is quite the best Civic available (the '04 Type R can have more BHP and its P/W ratio is slightly better).

anybody got a overkill car for the NA tuning race?McMerc SLR?

I find the Zonda 7.3 is better. But arn't there some tuner cars, or some race cars that can do better? (I might be mistaken, but race cars equipped with sports tyres can compete?)

Ah yes,i had that silly impression that all race cars were turbocharged.I found the perfect car just scrolling through my garage, the AMG Mercedes Benz CLK GTR!!!
