I've already posted this in another forum, though I thought it was worthy of it's own thread.

I think what happened was a glitch since I can't seem to re-create it. I was just driving around trying to drift and do weird stuff, and then I reversed into the pit and a yellow flag came followed by a green flag shortly after. It seems like the flag system has been confirmed! :dopey:

I uploaded it to YouTube in-case anyone is interrested in seeing the future of the Gran Turismo :P

The flags come at about 0:53 in the video:

Sorry for the bad quality...

While going down pit lane the first time, a small part of me wanted the car to pull into a pit space and a pit crew to change my tires.

But it didn't happen. :P

If someone finds an easier way to get the flags to appear, then please post it, since I still can't get it to work again :irked:

EDIT: ^^ Same here.

I've tried a few things now, and gotten the yellow flag to appear once more by driving into the end of the pit lane instead of the start. It's only worked once so far though...

That's the Gran Turismo way, finding little details in the previews we get to unveil a big chunk of the upcoming game. Great find dude 👍.

Sweet.:D So long as we can get black flags for being, oh, decidedly naughty.

i've got the flags to come up quite regularly, just back into the pit lane at an angle near the pit wall/entrance.

What exactly do the flags mean?
Most auto races generally have the same rules with it comes to flags, there are exceptions. FIA sanctioned events tend to have this flag system:

Green: Session start/restart
Yellow: Caution, or safety car if it is displayed with an "SC" sign
Yellow/red horizontal stripes: Debris/oil
Red: Session stopped
White: Slow vehicle on the circuit
Black: Penalty (pit-lane drive through, stop-and-go)
Black with yellow circle, displayed with car number: mechanical black flag (car with a dangerous amount of damage)
Diagonal black/white: Unsportsman-like behaviour (this is the one you see in GT5: Prologue, when you get a penalty)
Blue: Faster car approaching
Chequered flag: Everyone knows that one. :sly:

Here's a link to the Wikipedia article.

EDIT: beaten to it...

Hopefully :P

Its all these little things, they give you a better and more realistic experience.

Has any game attempted flags in the past? I'd wager a few F1 games have and maybe one or two of the PC sims, but never played any games that have had flags like this...

I knew that Ferrari Challenge does have a flag system in their game. :)

Just a slight note - red/yellow striped flag literally means "slippery surface", it doesn't have to be oil. There's also a difference between a held yellow, a waved yellow and double waved yellows.
But I guess it says all that in wikipedia anyway.
