Okay, yeah, cool. It's just a cool car. Anyone says it's a cool car.
But of course, there'll be someone who will say "argh, it only goes 0-60 in barely under 8 seconds and it doesn't even have a four speed arrr" and miss the point entirely.

Seriously Uncool, if you were to bring this to a car show you get tons of looks. Unfortunately they would be for all the wrong reasons.

Voting seriously uncool for this car is like cheering for the bad guy in an 80s movie. I must therefore conclude that anyone who does so is a Communist.

Agreed. It looks like a car your grandpa would drive (he probably does. ha), and anything that looks like an old-persons' car is seriously uncool, no exceptions.

If it wasn't for the bad guy you wouldn't even have a movie, so... ;)

And what reasons would those be?

It's ugly as sin.:yuck:

I'll go get my red coat.(although my coat is really red, granted it also has white and Dodge logo's on it:lol:)

Cool looking car, I like classics most of the time, never seen this before, and maybe that's a good thing, because I'm just as good as anyone else who does not know anything about it. I think it's cool.

Ugly with a capital UGLY.
If Rosie O'Donell & a Catfish were allowed to interbreed it's doubtful they'd produce something this heinous. :yuck:
Harkens back to the days when the "you can't be bothered to get off your ass and learn to drive properly, so we'll make it stupid easy for you to get behind the wheel of a 1 1/2 tonne missile" mantra ruled the US.
However, the tastelessness & vulgarity of rich folks should never be underestimated. ;)

About the only cool thing it has going for it is that it appears to be smoking it's rear tyres without a driver being present in that photo.

Looks like the wheels are doing the faux-burnout in reverse, too. I think the rear end is trying to detach itself and escape from the ugly that is the front of the car :dopey:

I'm normally a big fan of cars of this era, but this is just too 'challenging' visually... ie; it's fugly.

I took one look at that and two things occurred.

First, I burst out laughing.

Second, I got a mental image of this:

Seriously, seriously, super-cereally uncool.

Sorry guys. I like it :)
I remember having a Dinky model of one of these when they were current
It was shiny gold 👍

Reminds me slightly of the Facel Vega (another cool car, in my book)

^ Never noticed the bowler hood ornament on The Homer before.

I personally just think it's ugly, like most Studebakers from that era. Almost post-WWII Stutz-like, but not quite.

Sub-Zero

Looks cool. Studebakers like this one are very sought after by collectors. It was pretty fast for the time too.

Lessee...second most powerful American car in '56, very rare, Last two years of production featured a supercharged V8 with less than 5 litres...

And style that the style snobs hate. and American, which the American haters hate.

Cool.

Are you somehow insinuating that I don't have eyes? I don't see where it's so ugly. I like that it challenges the status quo. In fact, I avoided the later Gran Turismo Hawk because I don't like the way it looks as much...it's not as pure. The lines flow much better than that...*ugh*...1957 Chevrolet. The adornment on this car is also way down compared to other cars of the era.

I apologize for calling you and like-minded people snobs. Does that make it better?

Very uncool. Hideous doesn't begin to get to the nub of the issue.

Now, if it was a Studebaker Speedster...

I might be persuaded to nudge my vote into Cool. To be honest I'm still not sure I would. It's still odd looking somehow.

Studebaker made some "interesting" looking vehicles, to say the least.

Are you somehow insinuating that I don't have eyes?

He may not be, but I am...

;)
