GTP WTAC Week 10 : Awaren !

1. Track :Fuji Speedway F - Forward

2. Car : Chevrolet Corvette C5-R (C5) '00.

3. Car specifics:

- Transmission: either
- Tires: R1 / R1
- TCS : at your disposal
- ASM : off
- Active Steering : off
- Driving Physics : Professional

All in-game quick-tune options are at your disposal (Press Triangle when selecting your car to add the car to your favorites and tinker with any available settings).

Hybrid cars, the use of CFW tuning or any other way of cheating is forbidden..

4. Duration of the challenge: this challenge will start Monday Jul 19th 4:00 pm GMT+2 and will end Monday Jul 26th 3:59 pm GMT+2 (one week !)

5. Time submission :

You'll have to post your Ghost Replay Data + Photo before Monday Jul 26th 3:59 pm GMT+2. If you missed the deadline, your laptimes won't be in the website.

6. Rules :

You'll have to follow the Host and Compete in a GT Planet Time Attack Challenge (GTPTAC) ! Just to remind you :
Clean or Dirty lap :
- Colliding with or using walls, fences, cones or other obstacle is forbidden. All times submitted must be 100% wall free.
- Two wheels (except when airborne, where the vertical projection of the car onto the track counts) must be in contact with the tarmac which does not include all green/grassed/sanded/graveled areas.
Rumble/ripple strips :
- having two wheels/tires on a corner's inside rumble strips and two off track is considered unclean
- having two wheels/tires on a corner's outside rumble strips and two off track is considered clean.

Just remember that track doesn't have split sector times. Just overall lap time, I was hoping you'd go with an older Fuji. I don't like this version of Fuji, it has never clicked for me, the last sector I am sooooo slow in! Be a good challenge!

I commented this ranking in Week 09 !

For this Week's challenge, no TCS 1 = no way !!! This 2nd gear is driving me crazy without a TCS 1 !

Best I could manage was a 1.38.406. I was hoping to get a mid 1.37.xxx as I made a few mistakes on that lap but this challenge reminded me why I am not a fan of american cars in general. I found the Corvette to have horrible understeer on turn in to corners and too much wheelspin on the exit unitl you got out of 2nd gear. Also that the suspension was just way too stiff. Tried playing around with different set-ups but just couldn't find a setup for this car that I liked and suited my driving style.

Looking forward to next weeks challenge though as the Autumn Ring Mini should be fun on N3 tires in the Alpine.

I also had understeering issues at first, but that was solved by lowering the front downforce about half-way (I think to 25). I also avoided the wheel spin in 2nd gear by never going below 3rd gear!

This run was a bit sloppy and I missed my turn-in and braking points in three turns. If I had cleaned up my driving in those turns, I could have easily shaved about half a second off of my time. All in all, I'm pleased with my time this week.
