Welcome to the Signup and Information thread for the first GTP Touring Car Championship. This is a series based on real life touring car series' such as the British and World Touring Car Championships. The races are short sprint races around 5 laps in length (some rounds will have more or less laps depending on the track length). There are two races at each round. There is only one class in this series, which is Super Touring which feature cars similar to World and British Touring Cars

Cars:

BMW 320i Touring Car (+9 power, -7 weight)
Mazda 6/Atenza Touring Car (+1 power, -4 weight)
Toyota Altezza Touring Car (-12 power, +0 weight)

Schedule: There are 10 rounds, 9 of which have 2 races each. The other race is a season ending 20 lap race.

Round 1: Deep Forest (2 x 5 laps)
Round 2: Grand Valley Speedway (2 x 4 laps)
Round 3: Trial Mountain (2 x 5 laps)
Round 4: Seoul Central (2 x 7 laps)

Round 8: Seattle Circuit (2 x 5 laps)
Round 9: Infineon Stock Car Course (2 x 5 laps)
Round 10: Special Stage Route 5 Reverse (1 x 20 laps)

Much as I would like to. At this time I can not. With RL getting extremely busy this Oct. There isn't enough hours in the day/week/month. But if SuperGT doesn't continue that would leave it open. Not planning on getting a PS3 anytime soon.

I have never got into one of these events before. I would be interested, not sure I can make every week though.

I would also like to express interest in this series as a latecomer to these GTP events. Perhaps a system for balancing the cars within the two classes would be beneficial, seeing as the Altezza has a nearly 9 second advantage over the 320i in the same class, based on your testing.

Sure, what the hell, it'll give me something to do.

I have done some more testing to try and get the cars evenly matched.

Touring Car test 2 at Trial Mountain (Reverse)

Mazda 6 - 1'30.108 (+1 power, -4 weight)
BMW 320i - 1'30.236 (+9 power, -7 weight)
Toyota Altezza - 1'30.832 (-12 power, +0 weight).

You may have noticed that the Beetle and Integra are missing from these testing results. That is because they were too slow compared to the other cars. I have also decided to drop the "Touring Cup" class from the series.

Signup for this series is now open and you can find the information in the first post.

Here is my entry for the series

I've just had a crazy idea for the endurance race - two driver teams. Both drivers will race 10 laps each and their times will be added up to give the total time for the team. Do you think that this is a good idea?

Hello, I am new here. I'd like to participate.
This is in Arcade Mode I suppose?
