EDIT: Current answer here.

If you have two of the same car in GT PSP, does it transfer them both? I mean, do they go to the PSP garage as individual cars, with the psp settings and color, or do the GT PSP cars you have just unlock the same models in GT5's PSP garage as selectable (in any color, un-modified)?

Can cars in the PSP garage be used in all arcade modes? Single player and two-player?

I got this response from Jordan (I doubt he'll mind me posting this private message to the board):

I can't post a question I have to the GT5 Q&A forum, and I guess it's because I don't have 100 posts. I know this was done to limit spam threads on the main GT5 forum, but maybe it's unintentionally applied to the Q&A forum. Could you allow anyone to ask questions in the Q&A forum? I don't see the harm since every thread is a new question and it's sure to eventualy get flooded with tons of individual questions. Would be nice if anyone could post there.:)

The question I wanted to ask is: What exactly transfers to GT5 from GT PSP? Does it unlock cars for arcade mode that I have in my GT PSP garage? Just wondering so I know whether or not to play a lot of GT PSP before Wednesday.

Mayabe you know?:sly:
Thanks! Everyone is able to make a new thread there now. To answer your question, it unlocks those cars in Arcade mode, but I believe it will only be 100 cars that you choose from your PSP garage - not all of them. :)

So, there's a menu selection for 'PSP garage' in arcade mode.. and it consists of a maximum of 100 cars transferred from GT PSP? I'm curious as to whether these cars are specifically what you had in GT PSP, or if when you select these cars they have the default settings and you pick the color.

I want to know if I should play GT PSP as much as I can before wednesday.:dopey: I'd rather not, since I hate it... but completion in GT5 is worth it.:D

Also, as far as I know, nothing transfers from prologue.

I was about to ask a question on whether or not you will even be able to transfer cars from prologue..
I guess i will be looking on this page for someone with an answer rather than making my own thread.. Hopefully we get all of the prologue garage taking it doesn't even top 100...

That would be nice and convenient, but everybody seems to talk about starting GT life with a Miata. So, maybe cars in prologue get unlocked in GT5's arcade mode. It would be a separate process from a GT PSP tranfer since GT PSP cars get their own category (GT PSP Garage) when selecting a car in arcade mode.

I do have a feeling that you get nothing from GT Prologue, though. Sucks. I golded everything except like 1 license too. I degraded myself, being forced to drive dirty to get some of those golds. And I get no reparations whatsoever.:(

I have no problem using them in arcade, infact thats what I want them for. I do want to start Gt mode fresh, and sure even if we could transfer them (For GT), I would transfer one (Or some) of my more expensive higher end cars, and just refrain from using it until I absolutely need to.

I just want to be able to race them in Arcade.. Cause arcade has never included all the cars, and my prologue library could add a lot

In GT4, arcade mode had ALL the cars, as long as you owned them at some point in simulation mode (I think). I remember getting to 100% completion requiring that every car be unlocked in arcade mode. It was a long checklist. :)

As for GT life... like in the other GT games' simulation mode, I'm going to gold everything, as fast as possible, on the first try as much as possible. If I could start with every car to do that, I would. :mischievous:

...then I'll just mess around doing whatever, online or wherever. :)

Definitely transferring up to 430+ GTPSP cars into GT5. :)

From what I've learned so far, the GT5 portable garage has a limit of 100:guilty:

Still wondering how the portable garage functions... Still wondering whether you get to select any color available for the car you transfer. And whether or not cars in the portable garage can be modified. And if owning a car in GT Life adds that car to the arcade garage.

Hopefully somebody with the game will get around to answering these questions.

As far as i know, there is no option yet, to transfer GT5 Prologue cars to the full game (i did only find the PSP transfer option)

So from what I can make out only GTPSP allows transfer of data, That strikes me as abit unfair I mean not everybody has or wants a PSP myself included but I still put some of my money in PD's pocket by buying Prologue, But ill wait till wednesday to see if they (PD) let proper players transfer data

Thats a major let down. 👎

Does it mean that we can pick any of the 100 GTPSP for GT5?

Is it possible to transfer your GTPSP cars on any given day. I mean, transfering hem when i'm further in the GT5 (complete some events)?

Considering the amount of people that already have the game in their hands, its a shame they dont answer this question.. Although hopefully someone will say before we actually have the game in our own hands.

Presumably this is something that is prompted when you start the game, so its nothing that needs to be unlocked or reached to, but is straight away given.

Lets wait

I bought Prologue for the simple reason of transferring the cars/credits into GT5. Even if I can't transfer them, I will still be happy to have GT5.

Can we have a definite answer on the transferability of GT5 Prologue cars.
Yes or No

.

this is a serious offense.

the BOX of gt5Prologue clearly states that you can transfer cars and "progress" to GT5.

Is this how Polyphony does business with good people like us? No wonder the negative vibes are abound.

I'm calling foul.

My box doesn't.. Im personally not extremely surprised. I am dissapointed but not really surprised. PSP transfer was the only transfer that was legitimately and specifically-specified a feature in the full game.

My box doesn't say it either but I have the greatest hits edition. I know the GT5P website still say it though. Can't say I'm very happy about it. A big chunk of GT5P sales was due to this piece of info. me thinks.

If of any interest, GTPSP -> GT5 as I did Yesterday (GT5 officialy available in France since Saturday) :

- it transfers almost all of your cars from the PSP, including the different color schemes you have, to what I will translate as "PSP transfered cars". In my case, I have several cars in 10+ different colors on the PSP and they are all available on the PS3. That makes a total of 1077 cars in my case.

- There is only 3 cars from the PSP that are not available on GT5 : BMW Concept M5 '04, FPV F6 Typhoon '04, FPV GT '04. Those are not transfered.

- The list of the transfered cars is then loaded, and you can browse through it any time. No preview of the cars though, just a list (color, model, brand). All cars are S type (standard).

- If you want to use some of them in Arcade mode, you have put them in the "Mobile garage", which has only 50 slots. That means that, at any given time, from Arcade mode you will have only 50 cars to choose from in this garage. But you can go back in the options and change your selection. Yes, I know, it's broken, sort of...

- you obviously can't use them in GT. Don't know yet if you can use them online.

- I think that I could refresh the list with new models, should I buy new cars on the PSPS. But I didn't try.

Really?

Only, I have a copy of every GT5 Prologue ever sold and... you must have a different one. What region are you? Alpha Centauri?

Though I appreciate Yorkshire - even when it's Barnsley - it's not strictly English. English people have problems with it, let alone our international members...

And you're quite right. I am a mental.

Thanks for the detailed information!

I'm a bit sad that the two FPV cars can't be transferred (no idea why they were removed from GT5). I understand that we don't really need a third BMW M5, so there really isn't any loss there.
