McLaren F1 Stealth Model (first tune)

227
United States
United States
Overview:Sacrifice some speed for total traction and control
Parts you'll need:ALL the best parts (even stage 3 engine)
Tires:Racing Soft

Aerodynamics (buy it from GT auto):
Front:50
Rear:70
This is the maximum setting for control

Transmission
Top speed: (I prefer 205-261)
It's impossible to hit 260+ even on Daytona (stock)

Adjustable LSD:
Initial Torque:60
Accel Sens:60
Break sens:30
Again, more traction at the cost of speed and understeer. Break sens is lower because it's halfway between total oversteer in the corner and better performance in the corner...I'd suggest using a lower setting for Break first

Suspension (fully customizable)
Ride height: -2 front//10 back
Spring rate: 14.7 front//19 back
Dampers (ext):4 front//8 back
Dampers (comp):2 front//6 back
Anti roll:7 front//1 back
Camber: 3.7 front//4 back
Toe:0.30 front//-0.10 back

Brakes
Front 4//6 Back

Basically you set the LSD to maximize traction at the cost of understeer, but then compensate with setting the suspension to oversteer tendencies

Assists:Traction control:1, ABS, 10, ASM or anything else:None

Hey thanks for posting this tune. It works really well. You say we sacrifice speed, but I haven't come across a car that can keep up. The handling is very tight, but also very twitchy. This car is a nightmare and a blast to drive at the same time. If you can calm yourself down and concentrate it's awesome. I imagine a real McLaren race car wouldn't exactly be easy to drive, so it's no problem for me.

I find it performs evenly on most courses, except for de la Sarthe...the track is very bumpy and stiff settings make for a lot of vibration, but none the less, hammer down on the straights and the car does what you want it to do.

The other is Nordschleife...it's very twitchy here. I find that some softer settings work better, but I still have issues on this track, mainly because the track itself is challenging, but the car is set up too hard for it, I believe.

All in all it's a great tune for your first attempt, and thanks for posting it.

This tune is perfect for my driving style. Just wanted to say "Thanks". I am doing some of the best laptimes I have ever done with this setup.

thank you for the tune!! It works really well.

If I had to make some constructive criticism though, it would have to be that the car bounces too hard when going through bumpy sections. It feels like it is going to fly off to the side if i hit a slight bump in the rode (especially at la sarthe). I don't know if changing the spring rate or something would help this. I don't really know how to tune a car. But hopefully I can help you perfect your setup with some feedback.

I hardly ever use my F1 anymore because of it not being able to keep up in races like "Like the wind" but if i have some spare time ill work on it
Thanks though kinda surprised how well it's being received

it doesn't keep up in like the wind? i'm surprised. this car destroys in a straight line in all the races i've done so far. but then again, i'm only level 17(?)

Your tune is perfect, havent lost a race in GTmode and only car that beat me online is my friend's Fully tune Veryon and only on straight lines. Hope to see more great tunes from u.

Once you get to extreme it starts to lack speed as the other racers are using LM cars :(...just tuned the zonda though :D

Its more of a matter of Extension or Rebound Rate, try lower that by a click or two.

hey seoul, i am trying to use ur settings for a race in Nürburgring Nordschleife. Is there any numbers I should adjust for this map? Caz the car is pretty unstable at high speed minor turns and i always spin out of track (or maybe I just suck :P)

Honestly all the tunes i make end up sucking for Nurburgring so.... :/
Only thing i could suggest would be a higher aero setting and a higher Initial Torque setting for the LSD
