Why does GT5 have such horrid music?

I think i've gone half deaf from hearing so much of it

Just turn it off.

It could be worse then it is. I prefer the music they have right now over what some other game's soundtracks contain. Its not as good as Madden 11 for me, but its good enough.

Dude. Just go to the options, soundoptions and use your own music instead! Like I do. Now I've got Slayer while driving, makes everything go a lot faster.

I hate the Menu BGM, but the Race BGM isn't bad.

The "Used Car Dealership" BGM is by far the most annoying, and I can not seem to find this particular song in the Music Library.

I turned off all Menu BGM and use my own Playlist for Race BGM. Only problem is the lounge still plays whatever it feels like.

Now I have custom BGM on, got a good playlist. Ill list it in a bit, but some of the "Electro" songs I already have but can only listen to them in race obviously.

The thing that gets me is why oh why do we have to listen to the same crappy song when we go into the parts shop!!! That for me is the biggest annoyance of this game outside grinding.

1000 cars and if we wanna tune them or buy a set of tyres then the song playing stops loads the parts song and then quits it when we leave, why not just keep the song going LIKE EVERY OTHER MENU!!!!!!

Also the music when waiting for a track is pretty naff as well.

Kudos for the soudtrack, gotta love GT jazz but when there is an option for custom soundtrack, it should works properly not just in races.

Anyone else agree?

Went into the BGM editor and set all off it to the classical tracks only on account of how "street" I am.

My first priority on loading GT5 for the first time was to switch all the music off.

How do you get your own usic to play tere is an option there but i cant figure it out ? I maybe doing something wrong does anyone know who to play music from your PS3 HDD as it shows you can.

find the audio option in the options menu, it has a button for selecting personal bgm, click it and it will list your music which you can select.

And yeah there are a few songs that just wont go away, the one with the singing kids, the used lot, and the tuning menu. Even if people like the music the repition is gonna ruin it

I liked the music at first but now it's too repetitive. PD should've made it cycle between different tunes to keep it fresh.

You know you can change the music right? You even get a trophy for it.

I'm not quite sure how it's done, but I don't think it will be too difficult to replace GT5's music with your Christian rock and gospel collection.

If you select/unselect the three BGM options for each individual track in the main library you can alter the menu BGM as well as the race BGM.

Much less annoying that way, you might even start enjoying the music whilst waiting for events to load

some of the race music is really good, but every game I have ever played gives you an option to turn off certain songs but I guess Polyphony is so high and mighty they're trying to force their "genius" upon us

Be careful with custom BGM freezing your game though, as some people have had issues with it.

I wish there were more of that fantastic piano music like in the intro movie and the GT Auto garage. I guess it's not exciting, but it's enjoyable to listen to on a big quality sound system. I don't really care much for the music during races, but would likely prefer their music to no music. I wouldn't waste HDD space on my PS3 to load more music on there.

Wait so you can unselect all of the music and then it allows you to play custom tracks for menus and museum?

Or you could try looking at the options properly - you can select which tracks are available for both menu and race music.

The things you can't turn off are the ones I desperately want to - the muzak in the used car dealership, GT Auto and the tuning shop.

Would love to turn this song off.



Please PD. You allow over 180 songs to be turned off but leave this song out of the Library.

I didn't mind it at first but it pops up almost everytime. I haven't checked if I can play something instead of this for race menu BGM. Is custom music just for other menus and races etc? Also don't want any issues using custom music but if I can't change race menu music then I won't bother as I don't race with music and the songs for the menus are pretty good in general.

I hate Jazz. I'm not a big fan of Forza 3, but the menu music in Forza 3 is awesome.

By the way: The intro song by Lang Lang is the worst song ever in any GT game. This song is how I imagine active euthanasia.

You can just switch all the menu music off, I don't have any music on even when driving because I prefere to hear the car in all its glory
