I'm hoping there is some intrest for such a series to run.
No race cars or racing modified cars
No tuning or drivetrain restrictions
Horsepower to weight ratio can be no more than 0.5 HP per kilogram
There will be three classes: <2000cc, >2000cc, and AWD all will run simultaneously unless there are more than 20 interested, in which case the final 3 events will include the top 8 in the championship standings from each class to determine both class and overall champions.
I plan to run 8-12 events with one event consisting of a single race approximately 50 miles with a 5 minute qualifying session preceeding the race.
Points System:
1st 100 points
2nd 80 points
3rd 65 points
4th 55 points
5th 45 points
6th 35 points
7th 25 points
8th 20 points
9th 15 points
10th 10 points
11th 8 points
12th 6 points
13th 4 points
14th 3 points
15th 2 points
16th 1 point

Please post if you are interested

Edit: Light damage will be used for points events to reduce the chance of somebody's bad connection ruining someone's race.

Top Gear Test Track with heavy damage for a last car standing non points paying prize car race.

Sounds like fun, gt300/500 style with the two classes running the same time. But i doubt anyone will be jumping on the <1300cc class. What about 2000cc and below and 2001-3000cc?

Done, also if people want shorter races, we could do something in the range of 25-30 miles with one endurance race of around 50 miles.

that was quick, lol. I'm down for sure, don't know what i'll bring though. What about tuned cars? spoon road cars, hpa golf, mines gtr/evo, amuse s2k/350, etc? the >2000cc class needs a limit, but even capped at 3000cc it will produce 600hp+ cars so i see no reason not to include them.

No set HP or weight limit, however HP to kilogram ratio may not exceed 0.5 HP per kilogram, this is relatively easily enforceable and fair to those with heavier cars to use more horsepower. Any car found to be in violation of the 3000cc limit (very obvious, everyone would know), the power to weight ratio limit, or racing car rule will either lose all points accumulated if not kicked from the series outright, also note that an AWD class has been added, as there would most likely be class domination by STI's/Evo's and GT-R's. If this would discourage 2WD entrants then AWD will be banned instead. As long as those tuned cars fit in the regulations, they will be allowed. Just to clarify I define Racing cars as anything with adjustable front downforce.

I might be interested depending on what time zone you are in and when the races would be. I am on the east coast with a day job so am generally only available after 9PM EST.

Races would be either Wednesday, Friday, or on a weekend sometime from 8-10 PM CST (GMT-6:00). If we can get 4 more people intrested, we will run the series, and determine a schedule.

This is right along the lines of what I've been thinking.

My brother and I had been working on a few cars - sub 250HP, tuned road cars was our operating mandate. We have 2 cars now, totally different types MR vs FF. But the racing we've done has been really good. We have set up Public racing lobbies for whoever else wanted to turn up, it'd gone well. I can explain further if you wish.

It's a good challenge to get a lower HP car and work on it to improve handling and learn its strengths / weaknesses. Very satisfying to see the lap times improve.

I'd been thinking about a setting up a series here along those lines. What you have here is pretty much like what I was thinking. So I'm happy to put my name down for this.

I have a 534hp 1236 kg STI that I may run or I might pick something else, but those numbers come to a .43 hp to kg ratio, where the maximum is .50. I think we need at least three more people to start something, so if you know anybody who wants to run send them here, and if they're not on GTP, just have them add me on PSN and mention the series in a request. If we reach the target then I will probably start another thread with the final details, and schedule.

im down for this...as long as its not on saterday nite....i love racing around in 4cyl cars :)

Another series that I'm running in will be switching to saturday nights, so that is out. I guess you'll run <2000. If we get a couple more people interested, I will start a new thread with complete details, schedule, lineup, etc.

yeah i was getting used to fridays on that one. Keep us updated with what you want to do with it.

I think we need 8 people to have a good enough field to run the series, we have 6 interested now. There is plenty of room for more people, so if you know someone who may be interested, let me know.

Both classes will race at the same time unless we get more than 20 people.
