What cars (with sufficient tuning) can win with decent drivers in the 24-hour Endurance?

So far:

Toyota GT-One (barely and not consistently)
Minolta (no problem)
FGT (no problem)
X2010 (no problem)

My GT-One finished 1st by less than a lap, 5th with one lap behind and 6th with one lap behind. I like that better because it is far more interesting to watch and makes me pay attention. Using the Minolta, FGT and X2010 is boring.

Also, how many miles on the FGT before I need to redo the chassis? For that matter, how many miles on the Minolta and X2010 before I need to make the repair investments?

I wouldn't bother. I bought a new one for A-spec instead of doing the chassis. They wear out up to a point...it will still win the LeMans every time without a chassis overhaul but you won't want to do the A-spec FGT Championship in it (even if you did do the chassis overhaul, because of the mileage)

I got all golds in the A-Spec championship except for Monaco. I need to go back and do that one but I don't think my current FGT is any good and probably needs another overhaul.

Where did you buy a new one? I'm willing to do that but I need something that can win the Monaco event in the A-Spec Championship.

I use the Peugeot 908 HDI FAP. I've never lost a Le Mans race with this car. Totally dominant. Looks good too. If you lose with this car it's Bobs fault. No reason for the Toyota GT1 to not be dominant either as it's stats are up there with the best. Don't know why it doesn't perform up to it's capability even with my high level Bobs.

I got my first one in the UCD and my second one in the OCD.

It does not do well in the rain and when the rain stops, if I'm not around, it reverts to hard tires which slows it down a bunch.

Yeah I was agreeing with you on that count. Also would be nice to have the other color scheme of the GT1. These cars are some of my fav Le Mans cars. About to retire my Peugeot 908 just for a change and try another LMP car. Gonna use the 787B[love it] and see if it will do better than the GT1.

The Audi R10 TDI should dominate as it is a monster and did just that in real life before the Peugeots 908's came along to challenge em. In this game however it seems they programed the older R8 gasoline versions to be faster for some reason.

I havent driven the R10 yet but every time I see one in the Le Mans enduro race its languishing mid to bottom of the pack while the older R8's and Judds are at the top. Try it out. It should be a dominant car like the Peugoets 908 that run with them. The Peugeot is a dominant car I can attest to.

Would Audi R10 dominate the B-Spec 24H Race ?
You might want to rethink the R10. I've done this race a number of times and have been surprised that the two R10's have been at the back of the pack every time, beaten by the two R8's, which have usually been in 2nd/3rd or 3rd/4th.

I like that better because it is far more interesting to watch and makes me pay attention.

You actually watch B-spec enduros? :ill:

I put Bob in a fast enough car he can't lose and I go to work or go to sleep.

I honestly wouldn't even bother running the B-spec enduros if I wasn't grinding to level 40 to buy a yellow X1.

Do you have any Stealth cars ?, a complete rebuild of engine and chassis is only 1,000 cr

is that just for the Stealth cars?

if not, you left off a few zero's. its 500K for an engine and 500K for the chassis rebuild on my x2010.

You don't need to refresh the X1.

I used mine for the 10 LM 24h races it took me to get from lvl 35 to lvl 40 then for the Nurb 24h, just doing an oil change between races.

My X1 has now covered somewhere north of 35,000 miles and is pretty beat up... it will just about pass 225mph at Le Mans, but that's it... makes about 1,430 bhp after an oil change... yet it was still mullering the competition at Le Mans by 140+ laps... no point in wasting your cash on a refresh until you're finished B Spec IMO.

B Spec is seriously flawed.. It's easy to win with all the cars you mentioned. Just set your drivers to not pit at 10% and let them run out their fuel and tires.. They will then pit at the end of the fuel cycle and do a swap.. Hell in real life, they will run multiple fuel loads before swapping..

There's a bug with the other AI cars that after about 12 hours, and only having 3 drivers (dumb when you can run 4 in 9 & 4 hour races).> they pit every lap for a driver change because they are all out of energy.. Im in the Toyota GT One with in tuned to about 800 HP and I adjusted the setup to top out at about 230.. But it doesn't matter.. I'm 14 laps up on the field right now because they are pitting every lap..

Takes any challenge there might have been out of the equation. I bet i can win it in a Super GT car. .

On top of that, I have to run this race more than 5 times to get to level 40.... dumb

Nice beta testing team Kaz.. WTH..

I agree that B-Spec should never have entered into any GT. You can go back and check the GT4 threads. I was one of the harshest critics. The GT5 version is a little better but still makes it easy to get fast cars. That's what I didn't like about it in GT4. Luckily, there is no B-Spec for license tests so getting 100% golds is still something to be proud of.

I have never seen them pit every lap. I took 6th place once, I think due to an unusually long amount of rain, and they were definitely not pitting often at the end.

I'm going to finish B-Spec and then get back to finishing A-Spec. I haven't checked but how many people have claimed level 40 on A-Spec so far?

How much guidance do you give the Bobs when they've got the 908?

I bought one in the Online Used Car Dealership (Red) and when I finished B-spec endurances (yesterday), I got a lvl 23 or 24 (can't remember) ticket and it gave me a blue one. So now I've got Red Green and Blue ;-)

Toyota GT-One (barely and not consistently)
Minolta (no problem)

Its funny because I drive both cars and the turbo'd GT-One is way the heck better than the Minolta. I dont doubt the B-spec result though. ;)

i will let the other cars run lemans after i get to 40, the x1 will be used until, 24 hours is too much time to waste to not come in 1st....

I am at level 35 racing in the Le Mans 24hr racing around in a Red Bull X2010 in the dry, I have noticed after 4.50hrs that my three drivers have run out of strength and are pitting every lap. they are still running 40 seconds a lap faster than the other cars. if I go to sleep will they still be in the lead when I return or will they fall asleep driving as well?
Two of my drivers are level 34 and the other is 33. I tried the Minolta twice in the rain and gave up as they were not winning, why let us have a Red Bull X2010 if our drivers can't handle one?

PS: Why do people call there B-Spec drivers Bob? Mine should be called Daisy as they are driving like little old ladys.

How much guidance do you give the Bobs when they've got the 908?

Sorry man just saw this. No guidance whatsoever. Set and forget. Only one time out of about 100+ races I actually had to guide them back to the front. It was after a rain shower and the idiot computer ignored my pit strategy of RS tires and put on RH and then looped my Bobs in the pit every lap bug for no reason. As long as that idiotic bug doesn't surface, a higher level Bob and a 908 is unbeatable. Upgraded turbo of course.

My experience so far with the LMP cars in 24hr Le Mans:

- 787B - Easy win with Stage 3 turbo.
- GT-One - Easy win unless it rains. If it rains, you'll have to baby sit it. Also with Stage 3 turbo.
- Audi R10 TDI - Wins because of the AI pit bug. It should win easily given the fuel economy of diesel engines but it appears this wasn't modeled correctly in GT5. Stage 3 turbo is a must if you want it to even have a chance of winning.
- Nissan R92CP - Eats tires for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Also a serious gas guzzler. If you baby sit it though the 24hr race, you might win. LoL!

All cars were using Soft Racing tires. These tires are way overpowered.

Well I have had my sleep and my drivers are still winning after 16hrs, they are still coming in every lap to change driver after 16hrs, they are 66 laps ahead and i have had to put the racing soft tyres on as it had reverted back to Hard tyres after rain.

I finished first 103 laps ahead after 24hrs. I just started the second Le Mans 24hr race in the same car a Red Bull X2010 and 2hrs in the racing is normal and dry. Two of my drivers are at level 35 and the other is 34.

If you'd like something a bit more realistic, try running Le Mans using some of the other LMP cars. My Bob is 7 hours into the race in a Peugeot 908 and about a lap and a half ahead of the 2nd place car (Audi R8 Race Car '01). ;)

I used my formula gt car. My drivers were at roughly same levels and kept putting lap after lap. So cancelled pit stops manually and kept driver out longer thus enabling other drivers to recuperate. Worked fine. But be aware of your fuel I forgot and had to endure a whole lap at 49 mph.9 minute lap anyone lol
Now only have one more race to do in B spec.

Thanks for the help Disavowed and Turbopop, I used the X2010 because I read some where that a person used it to get from level 35-40 without having to do anything, If I am honest I think I only complete the B-spec for the money and the cars.
My B-spec drivers are behaving better in the second Le Mans 24hr in the X2010, they are now 8hrs into the race and they havent run out of strength yet.
I only bought my PS3 to play GT5 as the only other game I have owned was GT4, it took me 6 months to complete GT4 and I never played it again, I found that each time I went back after I completed it I was to slow to enjoy it.
I have waited for GT5 thinking it would take me 6 months again to complete and be a better game, I don't like the concept of GT5 though as completing the game is not going to get me to the speed I was at when I completed GT4.
I think GT5 is about playing online which I have not tried yet I hope I am right.
I think I will only use the X2010 as a money making machine because I don't think it is a realistic car, I know some people will love the X2010 but I would rather race a genuine speed car.
