Thanks for the help Disavowed and Turbopop, I used the X2010 because I read some where that a person used it to get from level 35-40 without having to do anything, If I am honest I think I only complete the B-spec for the money and the cars.
My B-spec drivers are behaving better in the second Le Mans 24hr in the X2010, they are now 8hrs into the race and they havent run out of strength yet.
I only bought my PS3 to play GT5 as the only other game I have owned was GT4, it took me 6 months to complete GT4 and I never played it again, I found that each time I went back after I completed it I was to slow to enjoy it.
I have waited for GT5 thinking it would take me 6 months again to complete and be a better game, I don't like the concept of GT5 though as completing the game is not going to get me to the speed I was at when I completed GT4.
I think GT5 is about playing online which I have not tried yet I hope I am right.
I think I will only use the X2010 as a money making machine because I don't think it is a realistic car, I know some people will love the X2010 but I would rather race a genuine speed car.

I agree regarding GT5 and the X2010. I only use it to make credits and XP. Which is also why I only used it once in Le Mans for the giggle factor. Give online racing a try... it's "interesting" (for lack of a better word). :)

I'm just on the verge of level 25 (will be much higher actually when I collect my remote race winnings as got about 2,000,000 credits sitting there!!) so will be doing the 24H races soon. I don't really want to use the X2010 or the FGT But have got a few race cars to choose from, Minolta, Bentley, R92CP (something like that anyway), R10, R8, 908, XJR9 (all fully tuned) but I'm also tempted by the XJ13 Chromeline and the Toyota 7 (both fully tuned). Do you reckon the Jag or T7 would win without me having to babysit?

I have noticed after 4.50hrs that my three drivers have run out of strength and are pitting every lap. they are still running 40 seconds a lap faster than the other cars. if I go to sleep will they still be in the lead when I return or will they fall asleep driving as well?.

Turn off your pit strategy. You probably have it set to "10% Strength". They are fine completely depleted.

Turn this off and they will only change for fuel stops. As it is now, they are never recuperating.

I ran the B-Spec 24hr Le Mans on Monday with a tuned Sauber Mercedes C9 Race Car ‘89.

Fortunately I caught the last 2 laps of the race. The Sauber was about 30 seconds behind the lead car - a Bentley Speed 8 Race Car ‘03. With a little pushing, Bob made it into first and crossed the line about 2 seconds ahead of the Speed 8.

Over a 24 hour race, that's a little too close! To be fair, the Sauber had done a fair few miles. Post race, I think the bhp was down to around 960, I overhauled the engine last night and it's back up to some where in the region of 1012 bhp.

Ran the 24hr Le Mans yesterday with the X2010 which obviously cruised it.

In my 2nd 24hr lemans, easily won it the 1st time in the mercedes C9.

This time trying the peugeot 905, 6 hrs to go and he is 12 laps ahead, running soft fronts, medium rears.
8 of the other Bobs are worn out and pitting every lap, but the Audi A10 which was in 9th or 10th last night is now upto 4th place as he still has some strenght left.

You are right I had it at 10%, this was the first time I had it at 10% as well, the second race they only stopped when the fuel was at its end and they won by over 153 laps I think as it never rained.
I am now on the third Le Mans and they are 10hrs in and leading by 57 laps and stopping for fuel when it is time to.
I wonder if they will ever keep there strength for the full distance? in all the other races with two or my drivers I was changing them when they were out of strength.

Can anyone please tell me how many Le Mans 24hr races I have to do before I get to level 40?
I have not been able to do anything else for 3 days now which is just stupid.
I have just started my 4th groundhog day.

I'm not positive there chaps, but I think that doing the highest level 4hr race is the best XP/minute? If you're looking for something to run on an overnight (since no one is going to get up every 4hrs?) I also believe the 9hr race is more xp/min than the level 35 24hr event?

I can tell you that I only have done the lvl 35 24hr event once, and have worked my way upto lvl 40 (just yesterday actually) doing 4hrs and 9hrs and remote racing.

Just a thought...

Also, will anyone be able to update the list of acceptable cars at the top? I see we have some conflicting results.

Just finished first 24hr Nurburgring using Mazda 787B. Using all level 36 Bobs, they finished 3 laps ahead of the 2nd place car, an Audi R8 Race Car (PS Team). I used the same suspension and transmission setup from Le Mans with Racing soft tires but noticed that when Bob cooled down, he was going to have some rear tire wear issues. I saw that the other cars were also wearing down their rear tires fast but I wanted to be sure that Bob was going to win without me baby sitting him so on the next pit stop, I had him switch to Racing medium tires at the rear. To my surprise, the car was actually faster! Cooled down Bob was more than 15 seconds per lap faster than when car had Racing soft tires all around.

I set the Bobs to pit when strength hit 30%. Reason being that the Nurburgring is a very long track. This ensured that they wouldn't run that last lap on zero tires and/or zero strength.

@EivlEvo: I'll update the list as I run more cars. What conflicting results do you see?

I started my 1st 24hr Le Mans race this morning with 3 of my best Bobs. I needed an easy win so I went with the X2010 RedBull. I just check on Bob a few minutes ago when I got outta the shower. At 4.5 hours in, Bob is 24 laps ahead of 2nd place. I knew it was going to be an easy win in the X2010, but I honestly wasn't expecting so much of a blow out. After reading through most of this thread, I can see that I'll be running this race several more times to get to Level 40 for the 24hr Nurburgring race, so I think I'll try out some more interesting cars for the next races.

One question though... it was raining when I started the race, and it is now raining and dark. Will the rain let up at some point, or will it be a 100-year flood at Le Mans???

I thought I saw some people mention the Merc being able to win easily, and also having difficulty, same with the GT1.

I think (after reading your post) it comes down to how you're having bob pit... I suppose to make the thread more apt to the situation, you should mention how bob pits. If we see someone saying that a 787B is only winning by a lap, (which I mean, at nurb is 7 mins) we need to see what their pit settings were so we can compare it. You know?

I just need to do the last one now, I really don't want to run my x2010 because it's "not a real car" and I don't want to run my FGT, 1. Because it has over 25,000 miles on it, but because it also doesn't have headlights and is totally unrealistic at night. That said, after running B spec nonstop for maybe... 4 weeks straight? I'd like to not have to run my PS3 to do this race more than once. Haha...

Well, I don't know about the Merc C9 since I don't have it yet. The GT-One is pretty good when it's dry out. You'll need to tweak the suspension and transmission a bit and use soft racing tires. The pit strategy was set to OFF. This is because Le Mans only allows 3 drivers instead of the usual 4.

Short of simply documenting the race, I fail to see the point of this as a stand-alone thread when we already have a Circuit de la Sarthe thread.

Merged.

I have found this thread very helpfull. not all of us know how to use this site, I can't find half the answers to the questions I have.
You may know how to search your site but if you are new it is difficult to search unless you have experience.

My comment was in response to Gturbo5's video when it was in it's own thread and both his thread and this one were in the top 6 threads of this section, so no searching was needed. :)

I haven't tried it yet but I wouldn't think so. It might have a chance in the 24hrs of Nurburgring but it doesn't have the power necessary for Le Mans. I'll give it a try when I'm done with my current 24hrs of Nurburgring where Bob is running 2nd losing 1st when it started to rain. :(

I just experienced the slicks in rain problem. This is a massive screw up. Started at midnight in the Minolta, came home at noon and it was raining and I was still in the lead, 7pm I came home and I was 3 laps behind in the rain. I pushed all my bobs hard trying to make up all the time. Got up to 1 lap behind and I guess the rain died down enough to trigger a pit for intermediates. Ok fine, but then on the next lap it pit everyone one again to put on racing hards while it was still raining. I told it to ignore the pit call which I had to do every following lap while the rest of the field crashed into ever single corner. I ended up winning but what a horrible way to win.

Dynamic rain is the coolest part of the game and but this ruins the experience, needs to be fixed now.

Am running the 24 LeMans race now and seem to be on my way to a 4th place finish in the Minolta driven by two lvl 35s and a lvl 34. They're 5 laps down and a Speed 8 is leading. I've left them on their own but occasional check-ins suggest the Minolta is eating rear tires, thus forcing more pit stops than are optimal. Anybody have gearing suggestions to avoid wheelspin in a future re-run of this race? Tranny presently is tuned for 236mph top speed but I made no individual gear adjustments.

I don't suppose the Mazda Furai would win this would it?

It is possible to win with this car, fully tuned and un-coached! I have done so. This was a couple of months ago before the patch which increased the experience (and when I was having to run multiple of these races to get to level 40). I believe I used a mixture of level 37 and 38 drivers. I attempted this twice, no coaching on either occasion, but only won once. The race I didn't win had rain for about 50% of the race. The race I won was by 1 or 2 laps (I don't remember), ahead of an R8.

The key is not to set a pit strategy at all, and to use any car which can do 3.55 laps around the circuit with no coaching (quicker laps may be needed if the car can only achieve short stints between pit-stops). The in-race check is whether your drivers are running ahead of the R10, as this rises up the rankings when the AI starts to do the 1-Lap-Pit routine. This 1-Lap-Pit routine affects different cars at different stages, due to the energy used by the drivers differing, but once it starts lasts till the end of the race as the driver is always changed, and never has enough time to recover enough to do more laps.

I wouldn't normally've tried with this car, but after joking with my brother that it could be done, I decided I would prove it.
