Yeah you Mr FWD Inc or whatever.

Closed two threads of mine without a legitimate discussion about it first. Just a tyrade and BAM, your closed. Well good for you and your Authority. My first two threads as a noob here and I get no guidance or suggestions, let alone a welcome. How about relocating the thread or something? It's like the Gestapo or something. Nothing Constructive or productive. Quite honestly, your last post before you closed the second thread doesn't even make sense.
I am sure you are tired of, oh wait 11,000 posts. Maybe your just on a power trip.
If your job is to be a moderator. you suck at it. If your job is to run off anybody with an opinion GTP doesn't want to hear, then your good at it.
Moderating does not only involve closing threads does it? You don't even address/discuss anything before handing down your verdict from on high.
Although your opinion, understandable or not is left too close the thread out.
Weak

Think I will look for a new place for My GT5 info if I keep running into this Clown.
Tip for you : Guest traffic on this site = Ad Revenue
Your hear to help people get comfortable with the site and lead by example... not act like a deusche because someone gave you keys to the forum.

Ban me now please. Or stay away from me. EITHER one is fine.

Threads like this don't get you any public support, so stop trying.

In before the... Nah just kidding ;p

Spellcheck a rant first dude. Might not help in the long run, but it's definitely a plus 👍

I had a thread closed a week ago. The mods response was that I had nothibg to do with gt5. Yet the thread was talking about the online community. I messaged the mod in arguing my case never got
any recognition. JUST CLOSED as they said.

Wrong Section and I had told you before there was a site feedback were you could air your opinion. I did so on a different mod, but If you wanted to get people''s attention this was definitely the move to do, although not correct.

I guess this one should be closed too.

Your thread was about the psychology of people not using mics online. That's not about GT5 and in fact barely even about gaming, so why post it in the GT5 section?

There doesn't need to be a discussion about locking threads. If a moderator's call is to close a thread, then their call is to close the thread. They don't need member input or permission from the thread starter to do so.

This is the second time you've chosen to have a public whine-fest about a member of staff in the wrong forum. Not happy with comparing us to "the fuzz" last time, you've chosen to compare us to the Gestapo this time. Do you really think that's a sensible way to get your point across?

I guess I will phrase it as a question Why does the moderating here suck so bad?
Better
Someone have an answer for me?

I guess someone just proved the OP wrong - he starts a thread with useless content - in the wrong sub-forum - insults a moderator (calling him a clown) and they just moved the thread to its proper place for an open debate about it.
There are far better ways to try and get your point across without insulting anyone - has anyone insulted you here (besides yourself)

It's almost as if he has an axe to grind against all those he perceives as being in authority when they act in a manner he considers to be against him, isn't it?

All of the staff act in lieu of the site owner. Any action we take is action the site owner would take if he were able to view all of the site all of the time.

Given this, your question becomes "Why does the site owner here suck so bad?". The answer is that wee red and white cross motif in the top-right of your browser window.

There is always the big red X up the top right if you don't like the way this forum is moderated. We're not keeping you here against your will.

You really should find the threads and check em out.
I guess I was just asking for a little guidance instead of "Moderators here are GOD and we close threads" which is painfully clear. So good luck with that
Think I will look for a more chill Forum where discussion is actually encouraged.

Give up. If you don't like it take it up with the mod. If you don't like and won't accept his answer go to a different forum.

Lets face it, there is no other forum regarding to GT5 that comes close to this... by far the best forum for GT5. Not all moderators are the same and some are really polite.

I did. Hence:

Generally "I need some guidance" is a better way of getting guidance that declaring that the staff are "the fuzz", "Gestapo", "on a power trip", a "clown" and "suck at it".

I think you should ask yourself why is that. I don't necessarily agree with all moderator's actions around here, don't have to and don't need to, but when you face a site / forum with this size, you really have only two options. Let it become Hell, or have a very strict policy on posting and uphold forum rules in a very strict way.

If we were 10, or 100, or even 1000, this should be no problem. But we arree many, many times above that.

As already said, understand that and stay, or choose to ignore it and leave. It's simple really.

And not to end in such a dramatic way ... is it that hard to be a forum member? I don't understand all these many posts, threads and problems, seems people like to use their feet to open the saloon doors.

Figured a noob with only a hand full of posts might catch a break. Hell, I would have been OK with him Calling me out and making me look stupid as long as it was done in a constructive way.
Given the choice, get up to speed quickly on your own or get out. Thanks. I will take my verbal spankings and move on to a more chill atmosphere.

Definitely a spell-check required! Deusche? Love it :)

I won't pretend that the WorldLeagueRacing forums have anything like the traffic of GTPlanet... but one thing's definitely the same. You have to be firm and try to be fair.

People won't always agree with you - but if you discuss those grievances with every single complainer then you'll never actually get anything else done.

Sometimes the Mods get it wrong or act too quickly. You'll never stop that but these guys work for free and it isn't always an easy judgement call... and for the record I think that GTPlanet manages the large number of users better than some corporate forums associated with certain big-name games.

I have no problems with mods and I'm happy with the forum. I only had a problem with one and it was because of what he had posted. They could save themselves sometime and just close threads without explanation like they did to mine.

As with any site, people will complain about the staff. I have seen with another forum that I use to moderate. People take forums a bit too serious. I received death threats for closing a thread and banning members. I went off topic.

Back on topic:

Read the rules. If you don't like them, leave. I found it best that a PM to the staff works better than calling them out in public.

If you don't like this place, why bother to argue to be honest. You're never going to change the way the mods work here.

The reason why your threads were closed were because they had been discussed before - why would you want the mod to explain anymore than that? It's fairly obvious. And it is mentioned in the stickies in the forum which they encourage newbies to read before they post. Would you rather see 5 threads on the same subjects on the same home page, making it cluttered and hard to follow seperate conversations, or all better organised in a single thread? It's one of the main jobs of a moderator and why this place is so organised.

Figured a noob with only a hand full of posts might catch a break.

Post count's just a number. If there was any actual value or relevance to it, I could fly to the moon on mine. It doesn't really matter how long you've been here either.

What matters is attitude. Hurling names at us because we've done something you don't like... not a great attitude, whatever your post count is.

Hell, I would have been OK with him Calling me out and making me look stupid as long as it was done in a constructive way.

It doesn't really matter what you're OK with or not either. We act in lieu of the site owner. We do what the site owner would do. That's why he's picked us to do this job. We don't have to take a straw poll to find out what you or anyone thinks is okay - the mods answer to the supermods, the supermods answer to the admins and we all answer to Jordan.

For reference, we're not okay with being compared to a violent, fascist, secret police force from an Axis World War 2 power.

You have a caught a break.

I've never seen anybody get away with insulting the moderators this much on top of actually asking to be banned, and yet still remain a member.

This guy I can talk to and relate with. I understood what you are talking about even before you wrote it. You should be a moderator.
Pro Tip. If you want to bang on your Forum Members, be sure to include something useful or constructive in the conversation.

:scared: :scared: :scared:

I didnt mean to upset you before or anything but could you tell me the next lottery numbers... please

Sorry... just kidding :D

I checked your two closed threads (1,2), and I don't see what's wrong. In both closing posts, niky explained why the threads were closed and also pointed you towards a solution: use/revive threads about the same topic which already exist. You were not attacked, you were not talked down to ... what's your point?

Pro Tip: If you want civil discussion with a site's staff, don't throw insults at them as an opening gambit 👍
