So this is my one man tuning experience, called Trivial Tunes, I specialize in Japanese Domestic Market cars (JDM) , mainly Toyota's . I started playing the game just 2 years ago. Back then It was my brother in law doing all the tunes (and most of the races). I would just hop into one of his cars and joy ride it. Well when GT5 came out I had to learn to tune my own cars, as I now had my own game. I've had a lot of fun doing this and i hope these tunes will help somebody. All tunes are done with all AIDs off except of Driving Line (it doesn't really affect the car) and ABS set to 1.

Standard Tunes
These are tunes for cars I think very highly of in real life. These cars have all parts added to them and can have either Sports Soft or Racing Soft tires on them.

Nissan S13 '90 Downhill Spec

450 PP Tunes
These tunes are built for online, 450 PP, racing, all of these tunes are in a second and a half of each other, mainly because of driving style. All can, and will be competitive online.

Up coming tunes:
Toyota Sprinter 2.5 GT-T '97
Toyota SR-Z '97

Tunes in the works:

Toyota Tacoma X Runner '04
Scion xA '03 (Request)
Toyota Celica XX 2800 GT '81 (Also known as the Celica Supra)

Edit: New rule, to request a tune you have to give an in depth review on one of my tunes. I will honor all request made up to this point, but all new request my be made after a review. Also I wanted to address this before someone asks. I don't want to tune JDM Race Cars. I want to stick to road cars, as the racers usually don't have much in common with the stock car. Take the Supra RZ, it comes stock with a 3 liter Twin Turbo Straight 6. It's race models either have a 2 liter 3S-GTE Twin Turbo 4 banger, or a 4.3 3UZ-FE V8. I think this takes away from the spirit of the car, thus I do not like to tune them. All other JDM street cars are welcome, but I'll be finishing some tunes before I get to them (Supra RZ '97, or the Sprinter 2.5 GT-T '97 for example).

The will be my first posted tune, I have to give thanks to led86 and to LFA, for giving me the final inspiration to release it. The following is my tune for the AE86 sprinter Trueno GT-Apex S. Shigeno Version '00. 👍 I would like to get some feedback on how this tune transfers to a standard AE86, I do not have one at the moment, so I'm depending on you drivers! You will not fully be able to get this tune because it has a carbon hood, but it'll be close.

I dub this car the AE86 I.r. The I.r. stands for Initial Race, a twist on S.Shigeno's Anime series Initial D (Drift). This car is said to be Shigeno's AE86, which truly makes it special. This can pull a 1.27.776 on Deep Forest (clean lap) and a 1:41.861 on Trial Mountain (again clean lap). If you come into a fast corner way to hot burping the throttle can help turn in. Also this car has slight Autosteer abilities, so if your in the middle of a corner and you mash the throttle, the back end will step out (slightly) and then come back to you. Both of these are VERY useful in their own ways. Please review and tell me what you think. You can add or loose Camber to suit your purposes, just give Trivial Tunes credit.

Thx for the great set up of the AE86!!!!!

If you would by any chance do a set up for the Mazda RX-7 GT-X (FC) '90
I would be very greatfull.

Once again love the AE86 set up. 👍👍👍👍

Hi, as a self proclaimed Toyota Man, any chance you could have a look at the Celica TRD Sports M (ZZT231) '00..?? There's a regular ZZT231 in the second-hand dealer too, which I'd hope suspension and LSD settings might be transferable from and to. I'm not sure what level I want to take power up to at the moment, I'll be using it to compete online at some point, and there will restrictions on weight and power. The car will be multi-purpose and will compete against similarly spec'd coupes. I'm flying the flag for the FWD boys :sly:

Thanks in advance...

Thank you very much! It's good to hear that you like my set up. I'll deffinatly put the RX-7 GT-X on my to do list. I love the look of that car, the hard angular lines are just great.

I have been looking for both in the UCD. Small fact the Celica shares it's engine with the Lotus Elise, meaning that you should be able to get Lotus's Supercharger that they built for the 2ZZ-FE. Once I find one of the two I'll pick it right up, as GT5 carries all of the Celica body types, and I'm going to try to get them all and tune them.

In the next few week's I'll be posting my tune for my Yaris (Vitz) RS Turbo. It's stupidly fast for what it is, boasting 259hp, and weight under 900kgs. So far my best time 'round the Nurburgring was a (UPDATED!) 7:53.799. I would say that pretty good for the under rated FWD system.

I've only seen the TRD one once, I spend a fair bit of time cycling days using the Licence trick, I've seen the vanilla version a couple of times. Glad to hear that there's an option for the Supercharger, I use it on a couple of other cars as it gives nice smooth power. I'm learning to buy more than one of a car when I see it..!! If I see any more, I'll grab them.

I'll be more than interested to see your Yaris build, we've done Super Minis, but I'm looking to revisit them with Sport Soft tyres (we ran them on Comfort Softs ). Can you build one that capped at 200bhp, under 1000kg and running on Sport Softs..??

In fact, anything FWD you can build to the following, and I'll try them out and report right back. I've a few cars in mind, in particular the Honda Accord. I've two of them, and I'd be happy to loan one to you for testing.

Thanks once again...

I can definitely bust the Yaris down to 200hp. I'll give you a heads up the next time I'm online, it's usually on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, I'll try to warn you so we can work out a temporary trade. I also have Mini tune that I'm working on. It's under the working title of The Big Cooper. By super minis do you mean Japanese K cars? If so I still have my Honda Beat that I could revisit.

Japanese K cars are more than fine, Super Minis is just a loose title, we've run all sorts, new Fiat 500, Yaris, March. As long as it's a small production car, no open wheelers or sports cars. I love these little things, I've owned a few over the years, my favourites being my SR Micra and my absolute fav, the Ford SportKa. A properly brilliant car, and a glaring omission from this game..!!

I look forward to anything you can build that reaches the above criteria (particularly some of them mad little Japanese motors :dopey: ). As per, I'll take them online and report back... :)

Good to hear, so i guessing all these cars on this list are allowed? (I told you I'm a Toyota fan lol)
Scion Xb '03
Scion Xa '03
Toyota Prius '09
Toyota ist1.5 '02
Toyota Starlet Glanza V '97
Sera '92
Toyota Sports 800 '65.
And from the looks of it anything that carries the Diahatsu name.

Scion Xb '03 Yep
Scion Xa '03 Yep
Toyota Prius '09 Probably be classed as a Hatch
Toyota ist1.5 '02 EDIT Probably be classed as a Hatch
Toyota Starlet Glanza V '97 WANT ... NOOOOOOOOOOOOW..!!
Sera '92 Probably falls under a different category from Super Minis
Toyota Sports 800 '65. Same as the Sera, not sure what group they'd fall into though

And from the looks of it anything that carries the Diahatsu name.

And the dinky Daihatsu motors are all good too. I'll put some of my existing cars on Sport Softs and give you some target times around select tracks, might be a coupla days before I can. As a further note, I tend to avoid aero parts if they look tatty. I know it's only cosmetic, but I hate the default scaffolding planks PD have given us for the majority of cars

Appreciate your time, thanks...

Lol well now I know what I'm looking for. I'll keep an eye out for them. I'll still post the Sport's 800 just because I already have it. It's a pretty fun, if powerless car. I have nearly all it's upgrades and yet I'm still running less than 100hp...

Update: My copy of GT5 has a small crack down it's center. Usually this would not be a problem but I think thats were all of it's security code is based. Because of this crack my PS3 will not play GT5, it will not even register that the disk is in the PS3. So until a new copy can be had, I can not upload any new tunes. I'll try to get the problem fixed ASAP.

If anyone know a way around this problem other than getting a new disk, please post them. It's not the game save issue, my save file is in the low 500s, as if you guys have any ideas please share them.

There's way to "repair" your CD. I've done it on a few PS2 games, not sure if it works on BR tho, but I would look on the net if I were you.

I just bought the AE86 in the OCD, as a stock car this is sublime to drive it just does it for me. I dont know anything about tuning and have to rely on guys like yourself but i do know when a car feels right. I tried your suspension settings on my stock car and it just didnt seem as loose as the stock settings, although i should imagine when applied with the Mods it would be a beast, see the thing is i just dont have the heart to Mod the AE86 and for the sake of 3 seconds round Trial (1.44.280) stock with your suspension settings i'm not gonna do it. So what im asking is for a Suspension tune for the stock car as im sure i can get at least another second off that time round trial. I would be grateful if you could help.
ps I would love to try your tune on the fully modded one so gonna keep my eye open for another

Once i get another disk I'll have to keep an eye out for another one, as I've done stage 3 engine tuning and body reinforcement on the one I currently have. If you do ever use my set up (full mods included) I would love if you could give me some feed back.

I have just borrowed a friends copy of GT5. I only had time to write down some quick figures and play for about an hour. The three following tunes are in the works and near completion. I'll update and add in final stats such as Power, Weight, PP value and lap times. Although these are just betas the will still whip just about anything in their power range. I hope you enjoy them as mush as I do.

MR2 Black Widow
Sadly the MR2 took a performance hit in the late 90s. it's went from the 3S-GTE which produced 251hp in the Celica GT-FOUR to the 1ZZ-FE, which only makes 130hp. Why they did this I will never know but Trivial Tunes have tried to rectify this with massive engine, and suspension tuning. It's not quite as sharp as the MR2 SV-M90, but it's higher horse power gives it a slight edge over the older MR2. It's a very light car weighing less that 900 KGs. And even though it's very light it still retains a lot of grip, allowing this car to be insanely quick through the corners. With the extra power and suspension tuning, it bites like it's name sake and leaves it's competition for dead

This was the first Supra not to be called a Supra Celica. And even more this was the top spec model running a boosted 7M-GTE enigne. Well Trivial Tunes has further boosted the Supra's engine up to an amazing 550hp. And it handles very well for it's weight and age. It's not quite as sharp as it's little sister the MR2, but it did give Toyota's little MR2 a run for it's money in the handling arena. This car must have an Anti-lag system because there is no lag in the High RPM Turbo kit. This Supra has been named from the horse power it creates which is 550hp, astonishing for a 23 year old car. It will post fast and consistent lap times for you with out much effort from yourself.

MR2 SV-M90
This car drives almost just like a Lotus. You might ask "How did Toyota manage this?". Well the MR2 chassis is said to be designed by Lotus. Engine and transmission by Toyota, chassis and suspension by Lotus, sound familiar? The SV moniker is from the Toyota built prototype named the SV-3, which was shown at the Tokyo Motor Sport in 1983. The M90 comes from the one off prototype built by Lotus, called the M90, that many say was the first prototype MR2. This car drove so well that I only tuned the engine and drive train, the suspension didn't need anything done to it. This car may not have the most horse power but it will out handle any other '80s Japanese sports car out there, and most of the '90s models as well. Can run with the Lotus Elise '98 very well.

Any chance of doing a tune for the 1986 MR2 Supercharged? It's been my main drift car since I bought it, but I want to race it competitively now :) It's a really fun car.

I've been looking for a Supercharged, but it hasn't turned up, just like the MR2 GTS and the Celicas I've been after. Once I find one you better belive I'll tune it.

Edit: MR2 GTS has been found and bought!

Bought a supercharged last night, seems like it may have even been in the new online car dealership lineup if I remember correctly.

I'd be glad to send you mine to tune if you still haven't found one. And yes the Supercharged is insanely rare. Been waiting for it to pop up for months until just last week.

I would love to trade but my schedule is so messed up. I can only play Tuesday and Wensday, and only in the mornings and late Tuesday. I have to play on my brother in laws PS3 as mine got the yellow light of death and I'm saving all my monies to get a new one, but gas prices aren't helping lol.

Is your fully tuned? if so how much of a power difference is there? If it's less than 50hp difference then the LSD settings should work, and once I get a full tune it should be able to transfer over well. I think I'm running around 240hp with the G Limited and two models are only 30hp apart fully stock....
