Does/Will GT5 support LAN?

As above really, I'm yet to find a definitive answer to my question. I really enjoy playing against my mates online but I would love the option of playing them in the same room on a network, as I quite often take my PS3 and HDTV over friends' houses for some gaming fun.

I would guess the new update does have LAN capability for GT5? It would really be nice to have local GT5 LAN Parties!

Multiple PS3's can still connect to the PSN from the same router can't they?

I don't see them enabling this feature because they want you on the PSN every chance they can to gather data about you as a user and find ways of monetising it.

I haven't come across any facility for LAN after installing the new patch :grumpy:

You can Heath-Robinson a LAN party though. I'm going to try a test run of one in early April and a full UKGTP at the end of May. I can PM you the method if you wish and you can test it out if you have an earlier opportunity to do so.

Well the reason I ask is because when I take my PS3 to my mates', we have a nice little setup in their "barn" conversion, so there is no internet connection available that I am aware of. All of their internet is connected to their main hub (they have a business from home) and there is no wireless facility that we can connect to unfortunately.

Please feel free to PM me your way though as I would still be quite interested.

Cheers.

I don't know of a method without an internet connection - is there any way to run a single Cat5e/Cat6 cable from their access point to a switch in the barn?

I'm not sure to be honest. I have some 20 metre cables around here somewhere so I'll take one over with me this evening I think, definately worth a go at least!

So is there an answer to the question on LAN connecting multiple PS3s running GT5 in each console as independent stations competing against each other without going through PSN? Iv'e heard that it can't be done. I sure would like someone to answer that question.

If it can be, I don't know about it - and my fifteenth GT LAN is still coming up at the end of May.
