Well you've slammed it with a relatively soft suspension so it's possible you're getting the understeer from braking/bottoming out. slightly increase the compression and/or spring rate in the front. IMO!=*

I only get understeer mid corner. Turn-in is pretty neutral. The car is pretty light so the times I have tried stiffer springs have resulted in no grip at all on bumpy courses like trial mountain. I think I'll try a higher front compression and see if that works.

I messed with harder springs at this ride height and it didn't help. Last night running on sport soft tires in some rooms I realized the suspension needs an overhaul. I am trying a ride height of -10 now but I haven't got the rest of the settings dialed in. Way too much understeer in general. On long sweeping turns like the loop at Cape Ring the outside rear tire overheats first. This causes the car to abruptly turn in and smash into the wall. I cannot control the oversteer. I think I'll do some runs at cape ring tonight to see if I can work out the outside rear grip. Any suggestions on what to try?

hey.. i've raced you online. osprey73.

try softening front sway bar/increasing rear sway and adding more negative camber to reduce mid-corner understeer.

the above is not gonna help with your latest issue though. that gen (along with many mr cars) mr2 was prone to swapping ends.. being smooth on the thottle is key.

it really depends. to start, i set at -1.5 front/-1 rear with FR cars and go from there.

I haven't really messed around with MR cars much.

That loop on cape ring is an oddity and I'd recommend not tuning for it specifically.

Ok, so I used the GT5 Quick Tune spreadsheet to start over on this. Switching to sport soft tires revealed so many issues I couldn't comprehend where to start. Back end was sliding out, turn in was horrible, understeer mid corner, oversteer to the point of spinouts on exit. etc etc. Anyway, after testing teh GT5 Quick Tune spreadsheet and making some adjustments I have come up with some new values. The racing soft setup is a little stiff for tracks like trial mountain but I am still able to produce faster times than before. Just gotta be careful on certain turns. New tunes are posted in the first post.

One more update in the first post. Dialed back the camber and was able to get more lateral grip. I also experimented with ballast. If the car feels to stiff, try adding 90 kg and moving it to -30% (toward the front). I can run the same lap times at 500pp with and without the ballast but the ballast ride is a bit smoother and more forgiving. You can also try the sport tire setup with racing tires but I like the stiff setup the best.
