After my first encounter with one of them today (NO I DID NOT RUN, but got fined a MASSIVE ticket for so call "reckless driving" im going to court for that 🤬)

I was thinking to myselve that if the road was empty and i was on a deserted highway, and he had no backup (obvioulsy in the real world this is a 99.9999% impossiblity) i could have simply left him, to bad the real world doesn't work that way :(

Charger V8 Hemi's specs
0 to 60 mph in 6.2 seconds
Top speed 150mph

Me and my family own 2 saabs (9-5 Aero & 9-3 Viggen) both which can run low 6's upper 5's in 0-60 and can both hit 155 (ectronically limited of course :P)

Can your car beat america's finest?

-> Nope, especially with my bald-ass tires:

:indiff:

-> But if I use some of my Filipino craziness, I may do more harm for them than it is for me. :sly:

! -> I was brought up with these types of moderate traffic jams

^ If ain't for the helicopters, evading cops in the US would be a breeze for me. :D

Subaru Outback. Direct Exhaust Injection. Makes 740 AWHP. 0-60 in 3.4 seconds and top speed of 188mph.

I always win...I never speed...

unless they race up from a sidestreet doing 55 without lights or siren on...

Nope. Tundra's got the power, but it's factory limited to only 100mph for some reason or another. I'm pretty sure the average Crown Vic squad car could surpass that.

Plus, why would I run from the cops anyways? Is a $100 speeding ticket really worth the risk of a decade+ in prison?

The GTP does 0-60 in mid 5's, and top speed limited to 155mph. (although the current tires arent rated for that speed)

It may be able to outrun a Crown Vic or Charger, but it can't outrun a helicopter or a Motorola.

Well, it would depend on the kind of car that the local police are using if you could actually outrun them...

The tried and true vehicle is still the Ford Crown Victoria P71, which has been in service forever, and will likely continue to do so until they are completely forced to switch to the current-generation vehicles.

Police_Crown_Victoria_Police_Interceptor.jpg

Assuming it is one of the newer specification vehicles, you'd be looking at the following:
* 230 BHP 4.6L V8
* 8-9 seconds 0-60 MPH
* Top speed around 120 MPH

The great thing about the P71 was that it could be beat-on all day and still perform. A well-connected police force using P71s would be tough to beat, as the old motto still stands, "you can't outrun a radio."

Now, around here, we still have some of the old Chevrolet Camaro B4Cs hanging around...

800px-CHP_4th_gen_Camaro_in_traditional_colors.JPG

These guys tend to hide quite well, and more often than not, scare the crap out of me. Give or take, it is a 4th Gen Camaro Z/28 with a few of the heavy-duty pieces of the 1LE option package, slipped into a Camaro V6 body.

* 315-325 BHP 5.7L LS1 V8
* 4-speed automatic
* Top speed of 160 MPH

People tend to forget about the B4C, and that's alright. Most police organizations would likely want to keep it that way.

But what about the modern police vehicles? Good question!

Ford Police Interceptor
2012-ford-taurus-police-interceptor-front-three-quarters-static.jpg

Give or take, you're getting a beefed-up version of the Taurus SHO. Cop tires, cop suspension, cop brakes. All-wheel-drive combined with an EcoBoost V6 is going to be trouble.

* 365 BHP 3.5L twin-turbo V6
* 6.2 seconds 0-60 MPH
* Top speed of 131 MPH

Keep in mind that Ford designed the new Police Interceptor to be as tough as the outgoing P71, and in my mind, that should be quite scary. The big test at Grattan last year showed that, in fact, the big Police Interceptor is faster than the new Chevrolet PPV... Something that no one really saw coming.

Chevrolet Caprice PPV
2011-chevrolet-caprice-ppv-1.jpg

Built in Australia, designed for American police. Its basically a Holden Caprice with some beefier options, picking up where the late-great B-Body Caprice left off in 1996. Considering how well thought of its predecessor was, the PPV has a lot to live up to.

* 355 BHP 6.0L L76 V8
* 6.1 seconds 0-60 MPH
* Top speed of 148 MPH

Considering that it is a slightly larger Pontiac G8 GT, with the beefier police fortifications, again, it is not a car to be reckoned with. The car has the performance in a straight line, as well as through the corners, and it has the durability to boot. I would bet $100, once these cars are sold to private citizens after their time in police fleets, values will skyrocket.

Dodge Charger Pursuit

Well, it's what we had before. But, with the updates necessary to be considered a part of the new Charger family. The same engine and transmission carries over, as the styling remains mostly the same. Still, it has been well-accepted in the void left by the outgoing P71, and is likely to be the car to beat when it comes to fleet sales.

* 360 BHP 5.7L HEMI V8
* 6.2 seconds 0-60 MPH
* Top speed of 146 MPH

While the Charger certainly is no slouch, it is the lesser of the three vehicles. Despite the improvements that Chrysler have given it, the Chevy outruns it, and the Ford out-handles it. Still, it too is not a car to be messed with, even in V6 form.

Long story short, don't try to outrun the police. Especially if they're running the newer generation vehicles.

Out running won't do you a lick of good as they have things called cameras that can get your plate number, they also have radios to alert other cops to look for you.

Frankly, getting a ticket seems more fun than a warrant for your arrest.

HPD has a Viper Police Car. It's mostly for show and D.A.R.E. events, but I bet they could use it.

Oh, and if you live in Italy:

Or the UAE:

Or Need For Speed Land:

Then the best of luck to you. đź‘Ť

Brad, the 2004+ P71's have 250bhp and depending on chosen gears 140mph is possible.

Cops around here still have a couple pursuit Camaros, and a couple of the standard Crown Vic squad cars in the area are very obviously supercharged.

So, no.

Oh and to answer the Q yes and no. Cannot outrun the Charger's but could outrun the P71's. And I could murder the few Impala's, Taurus' and Intrepid's that are still left.

Oh, those terrible Intrepids. :lol:
Though none of the half-assed FWD cars that were attempted as alternatives to the P71 were ever any good.

And that new Caprice police car Chevrolet is coming out with is still stupid.

Ok By me there is a viper uc car that they can use if need be. They got it from a big drug bust. Run at your own risk. Also, In my home town they have a UC Monte Carlo SS that as far as speed goes it could give some of the fastest Dirt track cars and Weekend Draggers a damn good run.

Brought my car to the Z club day at the local track, and its always held on the same day as the Crown Vic club, which is mostly guys with old cop cars. I think the fastest Crown Vic of the day was a 15.1, and it was modified (although it wasn't a huge turn out that year, maybe 12-15 cars) with the majority in the high 15's to low 16's.

I don't have a time siip, but I'll say that from a standing start, I know for a fact that I can beat a police cruiser, and if they're governed at 120 mph, than I still have 35 mph on them in the top end as well.

I doubt any police force would use a Viper or Lamborghini on a high speed chase. That puts the car at significant risk, and they aren't just any regular squad car.

However I did hear that Germany was issued a Lamborghini or something to chase down those souped up Porsches.

Also, if you blow by any stationary cop going 120+, I doubt you'd get chased. That's a really high speed to get up to, and catching up would be very difficult.

I guarantee if you blow past a cop at 120+, he'll call in some of his friends to wait for you a bit further up the road. ;)

Buy a motorcycle. Police around here are told to not engage in a pursuit with them for safety reasons. I was told this by a dispatcher.

'03 Toyota Corolla.

:lol:

(Not "my" car, but will be what I'm driving most when I'm allowed to drive alone)

They don't pursue speeding bikes because the rider will either: 1)get away or 2)end up dead. There is no middle ground, and neither of those outcomes are desirable to police.

That reminds me of a news article of a Wisconsin man topping out a chipped 'busa at 200+ and he got more then just a fine but I do believe there was a helicopter involved....:lol:

Bingo.

The Viper is nothing more than a huge risk if it gets wrecked. Tax payers also aren't going to like seeing a $70,000 car being used on the police force.

In Italy, the Gallardo there is used more for organ transplants/immediate arrival-type than actually chasing down crooks.

When I went to Germany, there were 2 TechArt-tuned 911s sitting off the autobahn at a station. From what I was told then, they merely patrol for wreckless drivers or people needing assistance. Apparently, if in pursuit, they just reported the drivers' current location til' they could setup a way to stop the suspect.

Too high risk to engage in the city. Highway they'll probably call it in and lay spikes to get you.

Belgian police. Not easy to outrun them. :P

My car wouldn't have a hope in hell of outrunning any cop car. Down here the fuzz usually use VE Commodores of various trim levels but I have seen a few cops in other states running Evos, WRXs, Monaros and F6 Typhoons. And my car is a 1988 Skyline with 155 broken horsies.
