some people are still reporting input lag with 1.02, whilst others are saying the input lag has disappeared or been substanially been reduced.

Perhaps this is related to hardware that is being used, so I though i would post a poll, so see if it can be narrowed down.

The question is are you still suffering input lag since patch 1.02 (on a PS3).

* i use the word suffering, to indicate, that the lag is appreciable and actively interferes with your gameplay.

If you select other, please post exactly what input controller you are having in the thread.

Using the DFGT and the input lag has been reduced for me since 1.02. There's still a little, but I only notice it when paying specific attention to it.

Where is the "no" or "dont notice" ?

DFGT, 120gig slim. Couldnt play with wheel pre-patch 1.02.
Patched, reset settings. 360 lock 50 sensitivity, and notice 0 lag.

I assume the "No, I'm fine" includes the "I can't notice it so, I'm fine" :D

Anyway, I'm not saying its not there. Probably is but it must be in a very small amount meaning "I'm Fine"

FAT 80GB PS3 with fw v3.61, G27, game patched with 1.02

0 dead zones, 50% steer sensitivity, 0 speed sensitivity, 450º Steering lock

DFGT here and PS3 even tough it is not perfect (F1 CE for example had much less imput lag) after the patch it is almost GT5 lvls

yeah, we can never say there is no lag... as someone will always prove there is lag.

but does it interfere with you playing, or more extreme, stop you playing...
if it doesnt bug you ... then "No, Im fine" :)

when i tested last time against the xbox it seemed about the same, perhaps i will try again. anyone tried with the PC version?

the other thing is, i noticed when there was lag, you would tend to over compensate, hence the weeving (which affects gameplay :)) - and i dont get that now, even with 0 speed sens

I switched from 100 to 0 speed sens a few days ago. I took 2 seconds off my times instantly whereas before without 100 speed sense was very difficult to avoid the boat effect.

Software testing is all about eliminating causes. Taking short cut (going on hunches) invariably fails , unless you know the code base very well.
( I've quite a few years in software dev ;))

If you think it's the patch process, the the best way to test, is an absolute fresh install, no game save etc etc... Then patch this.
This should have been something the SMS qa will have done, and tested it works... As it's one of the easier tests to do, since its a known state.

This is what you've done, which is I'm surprised you think it's the patch process.

This should mean anyone should be able to reproduce (eg someone whom says it works)- though it might be hard to find a volunteer ;)

Well, while I can't check for sure in Shift 2 (as it's now encoded), everything to do with your controller setup - including very low level driver specific settings - were stored in the player profile in Shift 1. And this could occasionally cause problems if the game was updated to use new controller settings, without the user reloading those new settings into their player profile. So that would be the first thing I'd mess around with if you're having problems - reloading the default controller and controls setup, and/or switching controller types (pad/wheel) and back.

I voted Yes and I use an old Logitech DFP (>6yo). My DFP works better on the PC (thanks to wingman software and PC game options - take note consoles! but they will not! haha) but it is still a bit sloppy.

It's was about time for poll - many more enjoy S2U warts and all than don't.

PS3 slim, DFGT - no control issues to speak off.

I usually am jumping from my computer sims (Race 07, Evo, Race On, GTR2, GTL, etc.) or S2U (not GT5 since) and if I would try to measure the differences between all I would not be enjoying what there is in S2U. The control (more so the experience) is definitely different but sometimes in a good way.

Well, I'm fine. the input lag is either too small to notice, not there or I've adapted so well I don't notice it...

Xbox360/Pad, by the way.

I think the lag has been reduced noticeably with title update #2 but it's still worse than e.g. Forza. No vote from me because I'm playing S2U on Xbox360 (gamepad).
