Welcome to the Formula Gran Turismo Championship (season 3)

If you are looking to sign up just leave us a post. ALL ABILITIES WELCOME.
To compete you must have an FGT and be able to spare approx 2 hours (inc qual) sundays at 1815 GMT (615pm). If you have more than one FGT leave details for all.

Normal Race day schedule FGTC
1815-1845 Free Practice (optional)
1845-1910 Qualifying (if you miss the end of quali you can start from the back)
1910-1920 Break (stay off the track)
1920-2030 Actual race (race length can vary)

The main event is raced over a number of laps designed to simulate a shortened F1 race. Pace, concentration and a good pit stop strategy will be required to win!
Players will be awarded points for their finish positions, teams will also be awarded constructors points with the teams being represented according to livery.

CAA-Causing avoidable accident (normally -5pt)
CAA(w)- Causing avoidable accident but waited (normally -1gs
CAA (m)- Causing avoidable accident minor (normally -1gs)
CAA (s)- Causing avoidable accident serious (normally -10pt)
WR- Wallriding (normally heavy points fine)
CC- Corner cutting (DISQ or heavy points fine)
(Dang)- Dangerous.
GS- Grid spot
CP- Championship Point/s
FTY- Failing to yield
DISQ- Disqualified




Drivers Points awarded as followed.
1st 34pts. 2nd 28pts. 3rd 22pts. 4th 18pts. 5th 14pts. 6th 12pts. 7th 10pts. 8th 8pts, 9th 7pts. 10th 5pts. 11th 4pts, 12th 3 pts, 13th 1 pt

Constructor teams recieve the sum of the both drivers points.

After every race the drivers and constructors championship tables will be updated and posted here.

SRF-COMPULSARY (this has been discussed to death please dont complain, if you dont use it you come last)

Prizes are
1st. Choose extra track for next championship and ditch an old one plus a car from new dealership worth up to 999k
2nd Any car up to 500k from new car dealership
3rd Any car up to 100k from new car dealership



Rules and penalties (read GTP online racing rules for a general idea)
• All drivers must use the same coloured car for the entire season
• Read and follow GTP racing rules.
• 2 tyre compounds must be used a dry race (failure will result in disqualification)
• All efforts must be made to avoid contact
• Blocking is illegal in the FGTC
• The lead driver has the right to choose his line into a corner
• The lead driver has the right to choose his braking zone but not to brakecheck
• The lead driver must keep a steady bearing while being overtaken by a faster car
• Chasing drivers must not bump leading cars
• Chasing drivers may attempt to outbrake lead cars but must avoid contact
• If you cause someone to leave the track you can reduce possible penalties by waiting for them to rejoin in front of you.
• Lapped cars may not attempt re-overtake +1 lap cars until the lap after the current lap is over, all lapped cars must yield as soon as possible in a safe way. Pull off the racing line and apply the brakes momentarily.
• After a pit stop you must stay within the white pit lines and re join the race in a safe manner
• After an off you must not re-join the track until it is clear and safe to do so
• During qualifying all communication is banned except for stewards on race business.
• During the race all mic’s must be off and no messages allowed.
• If you miss qualifying you can still start from the back with host's permission.
• Do not give up, if you leave the race for any reason except disconnection you will be penalised. (it is easy to tell who has been disconnected).
• You can be penalised for publicly disputing penalties/incidents, they are to be dicussed in private with the race manager. If you disoute a penalty and it is upheld a further penalty WILL be issued so think carefully and check the replay before you appeal. Also you have 24 hours after the stewards report is published to lodge your appeal, if you appeal outside this timeframe it will not be considered.



Penalties
• Private warning (lowest penalty, pm will be sent stating offence)
• Public warning (named and shamed with the offence stated on OP)
• Points fine (a set amount of points will be taken off your championship total)
• Grid spots (you will lose a certain amount of grid spots for the start of next race)
• Strike 1- This is an official warning for repeated or serious offences.
• Strike 2- You are on your last legs due to repeated serious offences.
• Strike 3- You guessed it, your out of the championship. Try the dirty racing lobbies.



Notes
I consider myself a gentleman and like to race others of the same nature, keep the racing and language clean please.
I am operating a STRIKE system for poor conduct, strike 1,2 and 3. If you get to strike 3 you are out for the entire season, maybe for good. It is entirely possible to skip strikes. Offending drivers will have S1 or S2 displayed next to their name on the leaderboard and may recieve further penalties as well.
Race replays will be saved and scrutinised for foul play by 5 stewards.
You must have a basic understanding of English so you can follow the race directors instructions.
Qualifying follows a strict car release procedure. It will be helpful if you have a mic although all communication is banned during the qualifying and the actual race.

Rankings and profiles are calculated for all drivers that have completed 4 or more full races (regulars). Rankings are calculated and profiles usually after every race.

Wow that is an impressive set of tracks for a season. Atm I think I'm a crappy FGT driver but surely first race at Fuji will teach alot. Anyway I wouldn't want to use any aids even if they'd surely prevent some spins. Heavy penalty or no automatic penalty at all, not sure which is better. What if I crash you and then I get automatic penalty plus after race points drop etc, so wouldn't the penalty get too massive?

If the game punishes you with a penalty then you wouldnt be punished further after the race, its designed mostly for rear end shunts which mostly go unpunished by the game. the driver in front has the right to brake early for a corner but not to 'brake check' following drivers!
It should be fun and you will learn fast, you can practise before the race too

I'd be so up for this but I think driver aids should be off for FGT.
Anyway you can count me interested!

Oh and out of curiosity what teams do the orange and the white FGT belong to?

CALLUM : Driver aids probably should be off or at lease some of them but the people i know that use them are generally slower so it should work out. So are you in??? Oh and see above ref. orange F1 cars lol
EDIT: maybe orange could be Mclaren as i think the F1 road car came in this colour, distant connection but dont think iv seen a silver and red FGT yet!

Berty, i'm going to race. Will be online at 18:00 GMT. I'm not sure, but in Brazil is 4h less compared to Great Britain time.

Yea I'm in... still not so sure about the driver aids but I'm sure you'll sort something out!
I'll take the orange FGT, Mclaren used to be white/orange so I guess that fits.

Anyway, if you are planning on some testing sessions, I'd love to join them and see if I can compete with you guys I've got a blue FGT, PSN: bombe32

And as a suggestion for the races: No penalties, strong penalties will make people able to go through each other if the speed difference is too big. I know it's to prevent collisions, but still... doesn't always work too well. And I think that 90% of the people who commit to the online series are fair racers.

Hey bombe, ill add u on psn and you can join me whenever to test your car, i race with maybe 5 of the drivers on the list regularly and we are not all wizards in the FGT, yet. when the list is full im gonna have a vote on ditching some tracks but not too many as i designed it to resemble an F1 season.
I hear your concerns about the penalties, would light penalties be better? i dont want people to be able to cut corners on Sarth or Laguna seca for example.
Ill put you on the list, if you decide against competing let me know asap as we all want a full grid. Thanks for your comments.

There's a 1 mil limit for trading, no limits for borrowing. However, you can't race online with a car you have borrowed...
