The International High Performance Racing League (IHPRL)
Championship​

About the Championship
This is a quarterly championship for IHPRL events during the quarter. It is open to all with members having first priority to participate as each event is posted. For each IHPRL event you participate in your points and participation are recorded here. The driver with the highest points average who meets minimum participation requirements is the Champion for that quarter.

About the IHPRL
The IHPRL is a league for those who enjoy racing Race Cars; from race modified Lotus Elise' to Super GT's, LMP's and everything in between. We like racing in challenging environments on challenging tracks. Our aim is the fun of pushing ourselves to the limit of our ability. We provide weekly racing events that are generally one car three or more races in one session. Each event is a series unto itself, however, the results of all events go into this quarterly Championship.

Membership
All events are always open to everyone. To join us simply post in this thread or send a PM to FishHunters and an invite will be sent to you.

Eligibility to be the Champion
To be eligible to win the championship you must participate in a minimum of approximately 60% of the events over the 13 week period. The exact amount of participation will be posted below on a continual basis. It is based on the average participation of the eight drivers who have participated in the most races (half of a full grid). Each event is an event of 3-4 races, approximately 42 races per quarter. If the top eight participants have participated in an average of 25 races that is the minimum number of races needed to qualify to be the Champion.

Racing Events
To win an event you must participate in all of the races for that event. The Points System for each race is below. The winner of that event is the driver with the most total points. A link to each event will be posted in this thread. Events are generally one car - 3-4 races in one session.

Prizes
It's the podium ya'll!

Event Prize
The winner of each event will get the car of his/her choice (if it's in inventory) up to $500,000.

1st Place – 3 cars up to $950,000
2nd Place – 2 cars up to $950,000
3rd Place – 1 car up to $950,000

So the championship rankings are going to be by average finish and not total points? Seems kind of pointless to run any races you don't think you are going to do well in. That hardly seems fair to the people who make the effort to attend as much as possible.

Actually it's more than fair. Hopefully we've all got a life. Not everyone can make every race. Should someone be penalized because they have an emergency or because they have to work late? There is a minimum requirement. Nevertheless it's all about having fun and competing.

That will certainly free up a lot of time, I can just not run the races on tracks I don't like, or cars I don't like. Wish I'd realized that before the GT500 series, I could have skipped that "suprise track".

This is a "casual" league. Not every one will be able to participate every week. So far only two of us have participated in EVERY race. Does that mean guys who have other responsibilities should be eliminated because they have to miss some time? No. That's why it's based on average and minimum of half the grid. In my opinion it's fair. And that's the way it is. Soopa was only able to do half one race last week because of technical difficulty. Yet, he did ALL the races this week. Should he be eliminated because of computer problems one week? No he shouldn't. The format is the way it is. That's the way it's going to stay. There may be a little tweaking of the minimum, may. But I think we've got it nailed. There are other leagues where guys ARE eliminated because they have to miss some time. Usually they don't come back to finish because why bother. "I'm not going to be able to win it anyway. Here, as long as you meet the minimum you're still able to win.

Additionally, I will probably be the ONLY one at EVERY race. Therefore by default I'll probably end up with the MOST points. Is that fair? For me to win the Championship just because I HAVE to be at EVERY race? The current format is the FAIR format. I make NO apologies for it; nor am I ashamed of it! It works!

I was just asking for some clarification on an unusual scoring system. There is no reason for all the CAPS and the defensive attitude. I never asked you for an apology or to change anything, I was simply trying to understand what you were attempting to do with this scoring method.

Not everyone is going to agree with everything you do, I learned that when I ran a series myself. But you have to at least answer their questions and concerns without getting all pissed about it. If you just want to have a "casual" race each week without all the serious points stuff, that is fine with me. I won't bother you with questions any more, if you have a race coming up that I think will be fun, I'll enter as long as I'm still welcome.

I'll raise my glass to that. I wish I had more time to devote to racing in this league. Unfortunately I have a job, wife, child, home, dog....(the list goes on) to take care of. I dig the fact that this league is a casual one. If I win a car out of this...awesome. If not, I had some great races and met some good people along the way.

This weeks Masters event was tough, am really enjoying the series though, looking forward to the upcoming Race Modified events
