Connection to the server cannot be established?

Hello guys and gals. I have a question and it's of concern.

The symptoms:

I get the error message from GT5 itself, I'm still signed it to the PSN.
It says connection to the server cannot be established
I can't access GT mode, when I try to the arrow just flashes there while the background video goes on.

Turned off the PS3, restarted. This time the game let me get into GT mode, but now that I'm at the GT mode screen there is no music and the arrow is flashing at GT life. Completely stuck on this one. Need help.

UPDATE: after waiting for a while the game is now working but without any connection (as if it was on maintenance) so no trading or seasonal events.

Just wait, it'll sort itself out.

I have not had a problem. USA.

I waited, it did. But it's strange this never happened to me before ever in this game. Any ideas what causes this? is it temporary? permanent? any information would be great.

Additional information, this has been going on for a four and a half hours now.

I had this problem on occaision and for me it normally gets solved by cleaning my disc believe it or not

Server's working for me.
Try resetting your router.

I have had this problem 2 times I quit the game and relogged into psn and it went away, it happened last night and this morning
