I figured GTP needed some uniform classes and such, so I wrote a rulebook.

Here's how this is going to go. PM me if you want to start a chapter. Chapters can have their own thread, with a link to this one. Chapter Presidents (the founder of the chapter) can select as many officers as they want. Officers can host official Club events whenever they want. The idea is for there always to be some sort of event going on, but with GTP people you can trust. You can have a drift event, rally, I don't care. That is the beauty of classes.

1. All cars and regulations outlined in this rulebook are to be created
exclusively in the video game Gran Turismo 5 (the "Game") for the Playstation 3
computer entertainment system unless specifically mentioned.

1.a. The controllers used to race in the Gran Turismo Car Club of
GTPlanet (the "Club") must be sancioned by the Game and can not be
tampered with except for mounting or controller remapping purposes.

1.b. The Vintage ("V1,V2,V3") classes follow the same rules as the equivalent
GT class, with the exception of containing only pre-1979 cars. Vintage cars
must race in the V-spec classes.

2. If a car is found to have broken the class rules, it will result in a month long ban
from all Club events.

2.a. A car is decided to be investigated if it far exceeds the times of other
cars in its class or is nominated by several members of the Club to be illegal.

3. GT/U=VX
3.a. Unrestricted. All cars must be based or have the body of a
regular production car (i.e. Audi TT DTM incl. X2010 excl.)

4. GT/A=V1

4.a. The base car must have under 640hp.

4.b. Aerodynamic devices must not protrude past the roof of the car.

4.c. Minimum curb weight for cars is 1000kg.

4.d. All wheel drive cars must have a torque bias between 50/50 and 30/70.

4.e. Forced induction is not allowed on naturally aspirated cars.

4.f. Ballast and power limiter may not be used to come within the limit.
However, it is legal to use ballast for weight distribution.

4.g. Racing slicks are illegal.

4.h. Custom gearbox is permitted, provided only the final drive is edited or you
use the specifications of a real gearbox.

4.i. Dampers, antiroll and ride height are free.

4.j. Camber must be between 0 and 5 degrees.

4.k. Spring rates must be from a real coilover or spring kit, swapping front
and rear is permitted. The kit does not have to fit your car specifically.

4.l. Adjustable LSD is not permitted.

4.m. Racing Modified cars run in GT/U, even if they meet the specs of any other
class.

4.n. Assists are banned.

5. GT/B=V2

5.a. The base car must have under 390hp.

5.b. All aerodynamic devices are legal.

5.c. Racing slicks are not permitted.

5.d. Displacement for N/A cars is 5000cc or less. Displacement for forced
induction cars is 3000cc or less.

5.e. Forced Induction is not allowed on N/A cars.

5.f. Camber must be between 0 and 3 degrees.

5.g. No changes can be made to: Gearbox, LSD, AWD Torque bias, and Engine Stage (in Forced Induction cars).

5.h. Spring rates must be from a real kit, swapping front and rear is NOT
permitted. Does not have to fit your car in particular.

5.i. Curb weight must be over 1150 kilos.

5.j. Ballast and Power Limiter are not permitted.

5.k. Assists are banned.

6. GT/C=V3

6.a. The base car must have under 225hp.

6.b. All wheel drive is illegal.

6.c. Rear spoilers are illegal.

6.d. Spring rates must be from a real kit. Does not have to fit your car
in particular.

6.e. Turbo upgrades are illegal.

6.f. Camber can not be adjusted.

6.g. The engine must be in the front.

6.h. Exhaust is free.

6.i. LSD and gearbox are banned.

6.j. Ballast and Power Limiter are banned.

6.k. You must run Sports Hard on at least two wheels.

6.l. Slicks are banned.

7. Stock

7.a. Permitted modifications: Air Filter, Sports Exhaust, ECU Tuning.

7.b. All others must remain untouched. Follow the GT5 Stock Classes Rulebook
for subclass information.

8. Lightweight a.k.a. L/GT

8.a. Car must weigh under 800 kilos.

8.b. Spring rates must be from a real kit.

8.c. Engine must displace 2000cc or less, 1400cc or less can turbocharge the
engine.

8.d. Slicks are banned.

What's the issue? This idea seemed awesome. Does no one want a multifaceted racing organization?
