Welcome to the new thread specifically designed for all C.R.A.P non enduro race information.

This is the one stop shop for anyone looking for a race that fits the following description:

1- These races are planned events with regulations pre agreed in this thread

2- These are NOT endurance races, maximum laps is 20 for normal
tracks or 3 for the long variants of the 'gring or other similarly long tracks.

3- All C.R.A.P rules apply (refer OP of our main thread) and the spirit of C.R.A.P is to be upheld at all times with no exceptions.

Please ensure that this thread is not cluttered with non event chatter, it is only for planning events

This is NOT taking over our Casual races as they stand, this is simply for those race nights that folks want to put a bit of planning into so they know how many folks will turn up etc.

Once you have come up with a race theme or race night/day PM me and I can put it in the OP and then I will update the other threads and send emails etc. If there are too many people and not enough rooms I will create another one.

I'd like to try and setup a race for Thursday night for us North Americans! (everyone is welcome!)

Qualifying time starts at 9pm Central time zone. (which is GMT -6)
We can start the race at 10pm central, or earlier if everyones on time and set a happy qual time... we can play that by ear.

Track: Laguna Seca
Laps: 20
Car restrictions: 550pp max, sports level tires.
** Street cars (no stickers or numbers), tuner variants OK.
tire ware/fuel: on
driving aids: no restrictions
Penalty: off
damage: off
boost: off

I'll start the host, in the CRAP_CasualRace lounge (if it's busy I'll use #2)

I think that about covers it. Hope this works out!

Just start reading the C.R.A.P. stuff and sounds like a great idea, as I'm not the fastest.

That enduro sounds good for thursday. I'm Eastern Time Zone, US, and plan to be there. Probably won't make it to qualify until 9:45 or so.

I'll add the PSN Ids for all the rooms and usually i'm online to race 11pm-1am Eastern US time.

Sounds good JT, it'll be late on the east coast but i should be able to tool around the track with you guys. Its not my favorite track but i guess its time to show it some love. you might want to limit the type of car, Race, Race modified, street, touring Car.

does that just mean no Racing Modified Cars? but everything else is ok?

I don't really care, I just want to get a few people on there to race, hehe.
race modified cars are okay, touring cars are okay. A car that has been mass produced or a car based on a car that has been mass produced is A-OK.

For future reference, most people refer to "Street Cars" as non RM/TC cars.

Concepts are sorta a middle ground.

My 787B stealth is allowed in all races on all tracks regardless of regs on account of it being the best car in the world

Just out of curiosity JTpwnface, do you want your Thursday night to be just N.A. players? Or can others who have that time available join? If so, it would be good to list the times in GMT, as that's the easiest for everyone to convert from.

:guilty: Fair call.... sorry :guilty:

Good to see event planning is in full swing!

I would like to suggest something and it would be great to have a few volunteers.

I would like one or two people from each region to put their hands up to help with coordinating events in their region. You would need to be aware of all other events taking place and it would be your role to minimise overlap which would cause a thinning out over the rooms.

So NA organise a night on thurs 5PM but some knob in Australia has sorted a Friday morning demolition derby? That can happen, I would like some folks to be the guys that ensure that it does not.

It will envolve just being a contact point and reading the event thread to ensure there is no overlap. If there is an overlap suss to make sure it won't impact on numbers anywhere else and if it does look for a solution that keeps everyone happy.

It will mean people won't have to choose between events, they can do all if they like.

Let me know.

As an organizer of many races my suggestion would be, if not for this race then the next, being more specific and narrow about your choice of vehicles. Race cars and street cars mixed don't always make for good racing. They can end up at relatively the same lap times at that PP level, but the street cars will be faster in a straight line with more HP and the racing cars obviously faster in the corners. Those differences in speed make it difficult to race close together. The race cars tend to want to pass in the corner because that's where there advantage is, and the street cars have their advantage at the end of the straights and tend to do more divebombing and late braking. If everyone has relatively the same speed, it's not as big of an issue.

It can be done, but it requires a lot of discipline on that part of the drivers to not be colliding all the time.

How about instead of every race organizer trying to do a time zone conversion for, post a link in the OP that goes to one of the many time zone converters on the web and let the participants figure it out themselves? Just ensure the organizer is specific about his time zone and the rest is easy.

Anyone is welcome, no matter what country, continent or planet you're from! It's all good with me.
I did post the time zone, so you can figure out your own local time.

I didn't think car selection would be that big of a deal... Since its such a debate. The restriction is set to street cars only, nothing with stickers or numbers. For example, I'm pretty sure I've decided on my car, its the Audi R8 chrome line edition, tuned to 550 exactly. So obviously chrome/stealth cars (if they're still a regular car) are acceptible. Those tuner variants are also OK, like the Nismo 400R etc..

and if Heathen shows up, he can drive the 787b.

I'm thinking since it's Mazda Raceway, I'll go with an RX-7.

SS at 550pp is a bit tricky to find a good handling car, in my driving style anyway.

huh? did you write something? all I can really see is your pic..

*edit* I was kidding. I  boobs

now this should make it interesting, but i dont see me winning. did a few laps last night in seca in the casual lounge but it was with shuffle so i didnt get to try anything i would use tonight.

Lots of time to qualify tonight. I don't care if you jump on or off the track to change cars or tune it etc....
I don't expect to win either, its just for the fun of it, and to see how many people show.

from the practice of done so far, my R8 tuned to 550 exactly, with SS tires, I posted a 1:33:4. So if you can lap faster than that, you've got me beat, hehe.

But that shuffle was fun racing. For the two races I got to do. I hope to be able to make it tonight, might be a bit late depending on when old lady goes to sleep.

I'll try and post here if I'll be able to make it. maybe if at all possible we could delay the start 5 minutes. I don't care to start last, just like a good race.

yeah it was fun but i found myself actually lapping faster if i was chasing down someone. almost +2 sec. faster on two different tracks! I need to learn how to push when im out front.

I need to learn how to push when im out front.

Ask Kenny to teach you, he doesn't seem to have a problem doing it!!!

well, the wife was reading our boy a bedtime story and both of them ended up falling asleep! So I'm in the casual race lounge a bit early doing some practice laps.
anyone can join in at any time!

never really thought about the boost setting, maybe thats what it was, great racing tonight on seca and suzuka. it was a great battle on seca! cant wait for more events.

I am working on an event that will, if done correctly, knock the rest out of the park... and no it is not the enduro thread iposted, it is different. I will post here once I iron out a few details.

Looking forward to that. Let me know if you need any assistance flattening those details!
