After introducing my buttkickers into the Sub Woofer out on my 7.1 Pioneer A/V receiver I now have a ground loop hum. I did read Buttkickers Q/A about it Here, my question has anyone had this problem and tried a ground loop isolator?

I have not had to do a ground loop isolation. I have a BK advance with two Clark synthesis transducers and have no hum. I use an Onkyo 805 and a Sony ES amp to run them. How close is your Pioneer to your subwoofer and buttkickers?

Edit: I do plug all my audio components into a monster power line conditioner also. If you have a power strip try and plug your pioneer, powered subwoofer, and BK amp into the same strip and see if that fixes your problem before getting a ground loop isolator.

The Buttkicker is plug into an APC RS 1200 backup and the Buttkicker amp is not close to my AV receiver. I had the Buttkicker connected to my PC and had no problems, only after I connected it to the Sub out. Also my sub woofer is about 10 feet away from the Buttkicker amp so that's not the problem. I think because everything is on the same circuit it might need a ground loop isolator. Thanks for your reply.

BTW I like your Buttkicker user group, lots of info.

I hope the ground loop isolator works for you. Let me know. Thanks for the feedback, I really do need to update the group: tup:

Picked up a ground loop isolator from the Source (formally Radio Shack) it was a "Nextech" and was $21 Cnd and it killed the hum completely. So I am very happy with this product.
