Would you like to be able to create Custom Folders for your Garage?

Hi

Just would like to do a poll on how many people would actually like this feature injected in GT5.

This feature allows us to create custom folder names:
GT500/F1/Street Tune/Drift Tune
So you could easily move your desire cars into the folder.
Also this means it will be easier for us to locate the cars quickly.
If this feature will be implanted into GT5 then under Arcade mode, we will also need access to read all the custom folder as well.

I have been thinking about this feature since GT5 came out roughly about a year ago. As the time fly, I believe most of the GT5 player would have gigantic garage/car selection like me.

*Please write a comment/reply as I would like this to become a hot topic, so PD may consider implanting this feature into GT5*

A splendid idea...don't see anyone voting for it not being one. 👍

I'd love this. The Favourites tab is not very precise, it takes ages looking for a car even in that smaller field.

This would be perfect to organize all the cars I have, or I wish that they would let you search cars by there class. Like search for gt500 cars or dtm's instead of having to do it by make or country.

I have been thinking the same for a long time, it takes quite a bit of time to find a right car for any event.

Furthermore I would like to be able to sort cars by PP range, not just order by from ascendent or descendent order.

And one more thing, I would like to keep all cars Premium-Standard together and not in different tabs! At least for me they should have the same treatment.

Yes and the ability to put car's in multiple folder's (1970 Hakosuka GTR in 400pp, drift and fully tuned folder's). I don't really need standard/ premium folder's.

This is something we've always needed since the original Gran Turismo, don't know if I should be surprised tha 10 years after PD still hasn't figured it out...

i, too, would welcome custom organization in our garages. there are so many cars in the game there needs to be more than premium/standard and favorite as organization.

Awesome idea, maybe it'll also mean that the garage limit of 2,000 could be changed, to a maximum number cars per folder.

Even 1,000 standard cars takes a while to load.

i can't tell you how many times I have to sift through tons of cars to find the right one! this would be an amazing idea. it probably wouldn't take too much time to make anyways.

Yes please! Why didn't I think if this? ~Turtle

Great idea did you add this idea in the feedback area on gtplanet?

I did :)
but not much people are interested :indiff:
but I am very happy to see so many vote and people are actually wanting this particular feature.

Definitely. I don't sell any cars so my garage is a complete mess. It would be nice to have more functions to keep the place organised.
It would benefit everyone, and I wouldn't imagine such a update would take much time/effort for PD to create/implement.

Would pay to see this as a feature, It'd make my life so much easier to have folders, Sort everything into Stance, Cruise, Race, DLC, Stock for online/in general.
Great Idea 👍

I think the problem is PD might not be even considering as a priority as it is not a hot topic and it gets forgotten quickly.

Also on the feedback section, the highest votes I can see only 340. Unlike the first page of couple of thousand votes.

But I really hope they could considering this as an option as we have many standard cars and the filters just won't work.

For myself, sometimes I would buy at least 2 cars for same model.
The reason is once you apply Engine Level 1/2/3 or Weight reduction 1/2/3, it is not reverse-able. Hence, from time to time, you would like to drive the car stock and you cannot.

Custom folders would allow us to have 1 car for stock, the other car I can put under my custom folder, for example: street tune.

*Sorry, English is not my first language but hopefully PD will get the message*

I am all for this, but I would rather see a complete overhaul of the garage system. Instead of this "list system", why not make it like the format used in the Dealership? Seems more appropriate and user-friendly to me.

not a bad idea man, but that is all we can do.
PD is the one that is executing.

I even tried to signed up Twitter account and translate to Japanese the custom folder ideas to Kaz.
Is there any Japaneses who agree this should be implanted into GT5? If so please twitter Kaz and propose this idea to him at least (In proper Japanese, not google translator :ill:)

oh nice 👍

Always wondering what would it take to make PD look at it? because Kaz sometimes mentioned that they do this because of the community, but from where? :odd:
There have been a few small things mentioned here, which escape my mind at the moment, which have been changed via patches. Odd things too. So, from that, I would say they get this info from somewhere.
Also, just a week or two before the tire wear patch, someone on here was complaining about something as a "huge" flaw and I mentioned that tire wear is a much, much bigger issue that needs to be dealt with first. And, what do you know, the next update, it is changed.

👍 I'd like something like that just with a unique style. Not exactly like the Dealership.

What I would like PD to implement is a tagging system which replaces the "Favorite" option with a "Tag" option that would allow users to create and apply multiple custom tags to a car. There could also be several tags which are automatically set to cars such as distance driven, recently bought, manufacturer, country of origin, standard/premium, and PP-ranges (I'd love if the game would calculate a cars minimum and maximum PP and not just remember the PP you last set the car to).

First thing the garage loads up is not a list of cars but a list of tags. Selecting a tag then lists all cars with that tag. This would allow cars to be filed under multiple tags and let standard and let premium and standard cars coexist happily (if desired).
