What is this Spoiler trick for the Bugatti

There's a rumor that there's something you can do so the spoiler won't deploy at high speeds.

All I know is that when you go to the deployment speed the spoiler comes out, and if you go straight for a long time, then it goes down almost all the way.

There is an option in the car to be setup for high speed, J. Clarkson showed how it was possible with the key to the car. Someone please link youtube video.

The problem with this community is, some of the people are selfish pricks, so when things like this are discovered, they want to keep it to themselves

(You know who you are)

In real life, there's a high speed mode for the Veyron, where the car goes lower, and after reaching a certain speed, the spoiler goes up. But after reaching another higher certain speed, it goes down, for aerodynamic efficiency.

Yes supposedly one member that I'll leave unnamed achieved this and got a 331 mph top speed. I'm not sure if I believe this as no one has done it yet. Also when the veyron's spoiler lowers at high speed is different, it is going into high speed mode that is only accessible with a special key in the real car.

Done - amazing review, I haven't even watched it all yet, because I thought you were referring to another review by JC of the Veyron (which I've seen twice I think). This might be the same review, but it gives the Veyron the epicness it deserves.

This isn't what we were talking about.
We are talking about the game and only using the Top Gear review for reference. But thanks anyways.

I haven't driven the Veyron in GT5 at top speed but I remember in GT PSP the spoiler would retract at around 375 km/h to simulate the vmax mode, you did get a noticable bump in acceleration when this happened.

This doesn't happen in GT5?

Yeh this does happen in GT5, just checked on my Veyron, spoiler raises at about 140mph and drops back down at 230mph

I dont know about what you wanna learn, but the spoiler goes up when you go fast.....then at about 370 km/h it goes down a bit, but not all the way to give the car a boost of aerodynamics and keep it to the ground at the same time.

Oh and by the way:

It's amazing how people in GT5 paint the car pink and call it the "Gayron". Their ignorance or the immaturity (propably due to age) is ruining this car's magnifiscence. It's a legendary car, a beast, a king. Yet, just because some people use it to ram others online, it just doesn't get the respect it deserves......

I think that moniker came from the drag racing clique. The veyron is by far the fastest road car in the 1/4 mile, so thus dragging with it and beating everyone else is "gay" hence "gayron"

Using the car to beat others in drag is even worse to my opinion. Use it why? To prove you're fast? Of course it's fast, it has 1000 alive HP in it! Maybe the person who first did this was gay and not the car.....after adding a setup to it, I use it perfectly for circuit racing along with McLaren F1, Viper ACR etc at ~900-1000 HP. Maybe im seeing things wrong, but Veyron deserves a lot more respect. If it was premium, no one would complain or accuse it....

uh so is this a myth or what? its hard for me to believe that no one wants to share their tip, so it kinda leads me to believe the spoiler trick doesnt exist? just one persons opinion...as i dont think the trick's extra mph has been verified anywhere yet, right?

eh, worth the bumpage if it gets the trick out into the public..if it exists

I thought it was because ron was happy. Why? because Gay means happy no more, no less.

Having said that, I still hate that (POS). Bob likes it though.👍

I'm not all that knowledgeable about the Veyron, but I was curious about the spoiler after reading this thread. So I took out to Circuit de la Sarthe with no chicanes and gave it it's second run (the only other time was for the 111m\second trophy). I had no idea there were 2 spoilers. The main one pops out, then the support arms come up and lock in and you can see one underneath as well. Was kind of cool watching it work in the look behind from the roof view during the replay.

The Veyron's active spoiler has 3 modes: acceleration, top-speed, and handling.

In acceleration mode the spoiler is at medium-tilt, giving the downforce needed to prevent wheelspin when 1000 HP is going to the wheels while accelerating.

In handling mode the spoiler is at high-tilt, providing air-braking and keeping the car glued to the road while cornering.

In top-speed mode, the spoiler is at low-tilt, reducing air resistance so the the has better aerodynamics, but also providing a bit of downforce.

Hope this clears things up a little bit.

(And it is an awesome car)

Yes i saw this post. He had a pic of the results of his speed test. Saying 331 and he said there was a way to keep the wing down

I agree. Anyone who disrespects the Veyron is a moron. :dunce:
I think that the Veyron will be respected more if it was premium, or at least, that the Grand Sport, or the Super Sports version is added in Car Pack 4. That will boost the Veyron's reputation from 'Gay' to 'Hurray', hopefully.

The really sad part is that, bone stock, a GT-R will beat a Veyron in a 1/4 mile drag race, at least in real life. After the 1/4 though, the Veyron will run off & hide...I think it was Road & Track that ran that test a few months ago.

Nah, the Veyron just needs to be driven differently than you'd think. Try treating it as an obscenely powerful FWD car, instead of MR or 4WD...it seems to handle more like a front drive than anything else.
