Noticed this wasn't reported at all on the front page

It should be noted that all Best-in-Show Tokyo Auto Salon winner makes it into the game Gran Turismo. This has been happening since GT4 (see: Trial Celica and the JUN's Option Stream Z33)

Past winners: Blitz Dunlop ER34 (2007 winner), HKS CT230R CT9A (2008 winner), RE Amemiya μ Boost up 7 RX-7 FD3S (2009 winner)

The 2011 winner was the Phoenix's Power GT-R CBA-R35

Well this is this years winner

The BenSopra GReddy 35RX

I notice that the Concours D'Elegance winners and SEMA winners always get reported but everyone seems to forget that there are three different shows that Polyphony gets their custom cars from. Those vehicles were not added randomly.

Oh come on, at least it is a speed demon and a piece of art, unlike the Mini Cooper Countryman. :sly:

I like the countryman. This gt-r body kit looks a little form over function to me. I appreciate the internal engineering though. I just prefer when styling cues are dictated by function. That being said I would welcome it in the game.

Yep, it's a beast that deserves to be in GT5 as DLC or in GT6. Art and performance can go hand on hand for the utlimate performance. Even if the body looks like form over function, it can have some aerodynamic advantages that aren't obivious compared to others, look at the Veilside Fortune of the RX7 compared to the Re-Ameneia, Mazdaspeed etc.;)👍.

But imagine the R35X time attacking the Nurburgring.

That's pretty cool! I'd love to see that in the game. I'm not seeing what's wrong with the kit, maybe those weird ridges or fins are a little over the top, but the styling anywhere else I'd make a comparison too. Example, from a regular GT-R to the 35RX, is like the Murcielago to the Aventador.

I hope it would be paintable though, I'm not too fond of that red. :P

Even if it did win and there is history of past winners being implemented in GT5, would there be any chance of it appearing, in GT5 that is? We could be thinking GT6, but you never know. :)

Here I thought we would have a nice thread without the cynical GT remarks, perhaps I should always lower my standard when entering any thread.

On topic, it's great to see that this GTR at least look very different from the models already in the game, the rear spoiler is attached from the rear of the chassis instead of being on the trunk. Performance and stats will definitely be different and if you checked the interior it's very unlike the Nissan GTR as it's more of an analog display with some digital effects in there. I'd actually welcome this GTR as the others aren't very different to one another save for Kaz's GTR. Hope to see more unique cars tossed in there.

It's just too bad they couldn't widen the suspension when they did the body... huge wheel spacers like that can do some real damage...

It is probably not on the news page yet because it is not really confirmed by Kaz or PD.
You asume it will be in the next GT.

Which I must admit would be very cool, if it did :D

It is functional. It's called "aerodynamics" and "downforce". ;)

I don't mind the GTR but that wing on the back is horrible, seriously the mounting of the wing to the back of the car is ugly, performance enhancing or not.

That car is badass and I look forward to driving it.

I would like to see GT going above and beyond though, and actually see cars that were picked that didn't just win a show prize. There are a lot of cool cars out there that deserve a shot to be in the game.

I dont care if a track car is ugly or not, the only things that matter is how fast is it right ? I mean you wont look at it once you're on the driver seat.

And yes for moar GT-R ! bring it on lol.

It's PD's fault if the winner of the competition was a GTR? :sly:
+1

Seriously guys please stop hating on PD.
I mean, why do you guys hate the fact that they add so many Skylines in the game ?
Its better than nothing, right ? A car is a Car. :P
And this beast has 1250 PS! TWELVE HUNDRED and FIFTY PS!
