Gran Turismo 7 “March” 2025 update prediction thread

Agreed... this game is in desperate need of a freshen up, of course new cars and tracks are welcome but more than anything we need EVENTS EVENTS EVENTS. And not just random chase-the-rabbit Sunday Cups either, stuff like the 1-hour Spa race, the Human Comedy missions (ideally repeatable this time), endurance events for slower cars, vintage race cars etc. Drag strips, touge tracks, hill climbs, minigames that we can use stuff like the Unimog for...

Unfortunately I think the best we can hope for is maybe one new track.

I'll throw a few predictions out there for the car content... Hyundai N VISION 74 '22, Buick GNX '87, Mazda ēfini RX-7 (FD) '91, Toyota Land Cruiser FJ55 '67. One deeply slow car that's a strange addition to a racing game, one JDM classic, one fan favourite, and an EV.

With the change of seasons this month it would be a good time to bring back my favourite of all the original tracks, Autumn Ring.

That is not my prediction though. Just a standard update, 3 or 4 cars (none of which being a GT3 race car), one event per car, some kind of extra menu using the Unimog, the usual stuff.

Since my RS 500 swap happened as an eleventh hour “prediction”, I’m going to hold out until the moments before the potential silhouette(s). I can say I’m feeling our next FF sedan making an appearance in the franchise.

At the moment, the Citroën DS1 is the only FF four door sedan in the game. I’ve mentioned wanting to see the first FF four door sport sedan in this game. Not just the Nissan Primera, but with the recent Hyundai announcements and partnership. Elantra N fits being introduced to the franchise.
The family of Civics are growing. Could see the return of the FD2 Civic Type R as it may make more sense as the first sport sedan in this game. Other important Honda models are not in the game. Accord have a host of sport sedans in all generations that appeared in the GT franchise.

My February Predictions had a Honda and two BMW models. We got a Honda and one BMW. As I mentioned in that post, we haven’t had back to back Hondas since game debut. I’ve got a few weeks to lay it down.

I don't have high hopes. PD hasn't hinted at the 3rd year anniversary in any way and that day is already passed. By the end of the month it has been over 3 weeks ago. On the other hand, the spec II update came at very short notice and was only hyped by individual people (pros and dataminers).

I predict regular size update. 3 new cars, 2 more sophy tracks and some scapes. No new track. At this point i have no clue what cars could be. In the last three updates, PD has focused a little more on cars that are 20 years or more older, which hits my taste very well.

The next update will have a track. I'll take anything that I can get and this 7 months thing is..... why not.

But will the next update be in March? That I'm not so sure of.

My guesses? The GTWS Qualifiers start in early April, so I wonder if we could end up getting a new course? I bet when we get the list of races this month, there’ll be at least one round labeled “TBA.”

As for what sort of extra menu(s) we could get? I’m not sure what brands haven’t been covered yet, though I could definitely see one for Citroen. I’m still holding out on designer-based menus, such as for Pininfarina, Giorgetto Giugiaro, Zagato, and Bertone. Heck, if we get the road-going McLaren P1, we could also have one for Frank Stephenson!

EDIT: I also imagine that for potentially new engine swaps, the Unimog will get something pretty absurd. Perhaps it’ll be another candidate for the engine from the Mercedes-AMG GT3 ‘20? Meanwhile, the 2003 Z4 could easily get the engine from the Z4 GT3.

EDIT2: For tracks? I’m still betting on a new layout at Colorado Springs. If we do get that updated Suzuka, maybe it could also come with the return of Suzuka West!

I'm still thinking about Emil Frey Racing and their switch to the Ferrari 296 GT3. Other than the Jaguar GT3 the team initially ran(which it's ironic to have a Gr.3 Jaguar in shiny purple - Emil Frey ran theirs in a vibrant blue) when GT Sport debuted(still interesting when the Jaguar GT3 was revealed in 2016, just as many of the GT3/GR.3 cars are 2016 models).

We have both Emil Frey RC F GT3 and the Huracan. Now with their recent announcement:

Verstappen.com also running the latest Vantage GT3:

I'm thinking were closer to the possibility of these new GT3/GR.3 cars. Once again, I'll lock it in after a bit of refinement. ;)

I'm fully expecting stuff like this to be GT8 fodder. With how laxidasical PD's treatment of Sport Mode has been throughout GT7 - my money would be on the fact that cars like that need to exist as a surefire way to bring names over to GT8 that would otherwise have little faith in what the game would offer them.
What better way to appease those wanting a 296 GT3 than by giving them a 296 GT3 in the new product? It'd be like a sign they are finally 'listening' to them for the next installment.

I do believe you may have jinxed it by making the statement "WILL HAVE..."

Tourist Trophy 2 expansion pack for GT7

PLEASE YES THIS NOW AS LONG AS I HAVE A VFR!!! Extra points if it's a VF 500 F Interceptor from '84, '85 or (favorite) 1986.
Yes? What? Sure!… oh, a door…
I think the GNX prediction is still solid as it's in the leak. Given the 3 year anniversary, I can see either Pike's Peak (OP, were you alluding to that?) or a Track Editor.

The reason for the latter is to show a chunk of what they've been working on.

Scapes should highlight more Cherry Blossoms and don't be shocked if one of the new cars is a reskin with a social media presence to highlight the spring/blossom connection. If I recall, they did something similar before with spring colors (pink? sorry I'm unsure at the moment) but it would be similar to the Dior.

Granted, I could be completely wrong. I'm sure I'll love whatever they have to give us!

Cars:

Carterpillar 797F
Ferrari 488 GT3
Caterham Seven SL R500

Track:

Apricot Hill

Note: The PDI employee, in that appearance on Reddit, suggested that we would have some surprises in the next updates, if I'm not mistaken.

My thoughs too, is not that they are holding the content, but they are prioritizing other cars for the rest of GT7 life cycle

- 92 Ford Mustang GT (C5 Corvette would be too obvious for filling out other generations of cars, plus there hasn’t been an American car this year and this fills out DTM)

- 2002 Renault Avantime V6 (quirky car from data mine)

- Nissan R390 GT1 (monthly doom pick until it inevitably comes)

Probably a track finally: Motegi

Scapes

An extra menu of some sort

I can agree, but PD do anything. Let's just say GT8 is 2027 release after being delayed from 2026. When would the 296 GT3 be added? We could get the 488 GT3 on GT8 debut(it wouldn't make sense, but this is the way of PD). PD could still wait(Kaz says they don't wait) another few years to add it. It seems it's not been a rush to add an updated Ferrari GT3.

The F3500-A could easily have been sitting in the virtual garage until the next GT. That could have also gotten people that wanted a GT Formula car to buy the next game.

Remember, due to the Mazda partnership, we got the RX-Vision GT3 Concept. Why didn't we get the RX-Vision as well or soon after? It fit with the theme of road car version and race car version throughout GT Sport. We did have to wait until GT7 to finally get the car and it's weird because all the Mazdas we got in GT Sport are from 2015. Same year as the RX-Vision!
Plus, not to be silly, the RX-Vision GT3 Concept could have even waited for GT7 because it's the dang cover car.

Seriously, I just feel it's more of chance to see it in GT7, as it doesn't matter if it does get added sooner than later. PD would just slot it over to the next game like they've done all the GT3/GR.3 cars so far. Unless PD are going to pull a GT Sport and burn the GT7 car list to the ground, like they did GT-GT6 and rebuild for the next game.
