I missed it last year :( Not missing it this year though, should be a great race!

Hopefully someone othet than ESPN
3 will stream it.

I get it on TSN2 with the Radio Le Mans guys, you could try that channel if you get it though.

At last years race, I noticed a car in the UNC class. What kind of car was it.

It was a Porsche 911 Hybrid. Apparently it was really disconcerting for the LMP drivers, because it could launch out of the corners so quickly.

I was originally going to attend this race, as it is the closest ALMS race for me. But alas, my parents wanted to see the Tour of California instead... ah well.

I think it was Mucke who said something along the lines of

"You go to pass the Porsche into the last turn, take the wide line, thinking its just a GTE car, and you are surprised to see him still next to you across Start-Finish"

*bump. Since the race is coming up I just wanted people to have a chance to know this thread was here.

Also, that's frightening that the 911 was ahead of LMPC cars...

He he, Frank Montagny will be there to race for Level 5 motorsports team. ;)

Yeah that's cool, though I wish there were more than three p2 entries, including him and his teammates' car.

EDIT: I take it back; that entry list I have linked is old. There are now four entries. :)

Of course it is. :sly:
One of my old karting buddies is racing in the MX5 Cup, a support race for that weekend. Can't wait, might have to figure out ESPN3 for this one...

He he, Frank Montagny will be there to Crash, Block, Tap, and Slam for Level 5 motorsports team. ;)

Fixed.

But really though, every time he races he is at the edge of the rules.

I really hope BMW can do well here, although last year they were a bit behind. Plus, they lost about half of the good drivers.

This is probably the last chance for Aston Martin to prove they don't just show up to crash. After all, they are the defending winners of this race.

Yup, he can crash at the cork screw section at Laguna Seca!

Is this the 6 hour ALMS endurance at Seca?

It is arguably my favourite race of the year next to Le Mans but I've seem to completely lost any knowhow of when it runs in the last few years. The last time I remembered seeing the race was when Patrick Long overtook one of the BMWs on the penultimate lap after a safety car period to take the lead in GT and take the victory. I'll have to start paying more attention. :grumpy:

Indeed it is, Bram Turismo.

Qualifying was great. GT is gonna be crazy! It's good to see the Aston running fast, but I just don't see it making it 6 hours trouble free. LMP1 seems lame with only 2 entrants, but it could actually be a good battle if both stay healthy. And I don't really follow LMP2 much, but I was pulling hard for Montagny on those last 2 laps.

Should be a good race, I've been looking forward to it. What time is it on in Eastern Time?

GT will be good as it always is in ALMS. P1 has been two entrants in this series for at least the past two seasons, just Muscle Milk and Dyson. And with MM driving the Honda it isn't close anymore. Dyson's car will wreck during the race, I predict. It's just too unbalanced for Seca's dirt and slip, and pushing so hard to even be within a few seconds of the Honda. I think the challenge classes will be amazingly good racing, probably some of the best. However, I don't see them getting much camera time based on past races. Anyway the race will be great.

4:15pm I believe. Check the broadcast info link on the OP to be sure.

Any photos of Frank Mogtagny with his team mates there? He's driving for level 5 motorsports if you want to know. ;)
