Black Shelby"Cobra" If I Can Join

Not taking sign ups just yet, will get to work on the thread later today, in about 2 hours time, then I will take sign ups.

Please subscribe to the thread so you can follow it. :)

I just found my third AC Cobra yesterday so I'm ready for this.. too bad i probably won't make it for too many races. :P

The Shelby premium one? Make sure it's not the AC standard one as that is slower. 👍

But it says AC on the banner :( well i've got at least two of the premiums as well though..

Yeah it also says Ford, but the GT350R isn't named as Ford in the game.

I was just naming the developers of the car.

Yeah it is pretty hard to control.

Do you want to use the Mustang instead?

I'll be using the Cobra in the races i can join at least.. I don't care I'll be spinning every race, it's fun to try to control such a beast. :)

I foresee us having full GT350R sign ups and few Cobras. :indiff:

Sounds like a challenge has been issued to tame the snake.....I may be up for that challenge since I've recently discovered I do quite well with tail-happy cars on hard tires. This is using the Standard Cobra?

Premium. It says in the OP: the "'66 Shelby Cobra 427".

The standard is an AC. 👍

EDIT: Unless you meant stock? In which case, yes.

It will be using the Premium 'Shelby Cobra 427 '66'

Edit: Tree'd by a few seconds...

I noticed you put sign ups in:

FordMKIVJ5/marunda
Shelby GT350R
MarkIV Motorsports
Mark IV Red/Silver or grey

👍

I drove both of these last night at Nurb GP/D, I can't see anybody seriously taking the Cobra. It took me about 7-8 laps in the Cobra before I had a "clean" lap that I could use as a benchmark time, I brought out the Ford and demolished my time by over two seconds on just my third lap, it grew to 3 seconds by the 6th lap (and the car was in dire need of an oil change/rebuild). The Cobra is going to have to brake sooooo much earlier for every turn that it's just going to be getting rear-ended by drivers in the Ford. Plus, anybody in the Cobra is very likely to be off-track or facing the wrong direction about every 2-3 laps.

I understand the sentiment by including the Cobra but it's going to get ugly really quick. I thoroughly enjoyed driving the Ford and would really like to race it (although not on racing tires), but I don't think I'll be running in any races that have the Cobra on track because it's not going to be pretty.

And FYI, each car had barely enough gear for the straight at Nurb GP/D. I hit the limiter in both of them right at the braking point, add a bit of draft that and you'll be bouncing off the limiter about half way down the straight and won't be likely to pull off a pass. At a track with a longer straight this would be a real issue.

What ? I'd of expected the Cobra to be faster with more BHP and around the same weight. Its steering and brakes really must be terrible :P, atleast its not just me that thinks that.

Also Brandon Daxes dad owns a Cobra in real life. (His avatar picture.) So he loves the thing ;).

Cobra is on SH tyres though. Ford is on RH. :indiff:

I do agree with Brandon's point to an extent. I do think the Cobra should be faster so maybe a tyre upgrade? Or degrade for the Ford? :indiff:

I really love this car and would like to join but what days will it be on 1st?

Edit: just noticed its on a sunday... Thats F1 time..Damn
