Stewards Notes
Just wait until you take the hairpins online in this car... silky smooth on entry and mid corner, but it'll bite you hard on exit if you aren't gentle. This car just wants to keep turning.

In the event of a field of 13-16 drivers we will disable mics and race with one grid. With 17+ we will split the grid.

(table will auto update approximately every 30 minutes)

Eligibility

This WRS-Online event hosted by 3D3 Racing is open to GTP_Registered members only. If you are not currently on the registry run the GTP_Registry qualifier and join now!

Registration Instructions

The following must be performed by every driver for every event:
  • Click the registration button above, fill-in and submit the online registration form (use your GTP_ tag ID)
  • Leave a quick note in this thread to let us know you've registered and any other comments.
The following must be performed only one time per driver (not per event):
  • Send a PSN friend request to GTP_3D3Racing, GTP_3D3_A and GTP_3D3_B from your GTP_tag account.
  • Submit the 3D3 Racing Online Driver Database Entry Form. Your information will need to be verified before you are added to the db and before your ID will appear in the registered driver table above. You can view the official driver database here.

There is a 32 car/driver limit for this event (per region) and slots are awarded on the grid using a first come first serve basis. Reference the registered drivers table above for availability. This is a stand alone race and points are not tallied for a series. Future WRS-Online races hosted by 3D3 racing may have different driver limits and will require re-registration using the same first come first serve basis and participation in future events is optional.

Registration Changes

If you want to change your time slot, add a time slot or update your color choices just click on the registration link and fill out the form again and submit with new values. Your last entry will override any previous entries.

Cancellations

If for some reason, after you register for the event, you are unable to attend please click the registration button above and complete the form again selecting "cancel" as your status. Please also post a note in this thread as the table above can take some time to update.

Delaying or Restarting Race Start

Once the race countdown timer has started, the race will only be restarted in these cases:
  • Multiple drivers report a black screen/hang, instead of the 3-2-1 countdown.
  • One or more drivers get disconnected before race-pace has begun ("GO" for grid-starts, end of formation lap for rolling starts).
  • Steward realizes there is a condition that would lead to an unfair or poor race experience.

Once the race countdown timer has started, the race will explicitly NOT be restarted for:
  • Latecomers, even if you've registered
  • Driver realizes he picked the wrong car parts (ie, tires) or driving options (ie, Auto tranny)

  • All drivers should exit track after the order is announced and enter the pits. When all drivers are in the pits a steward will start the race.
  • After the system places you on the grid drivers should proceed into stagger formation in order.
  • Pole sitter will take side of track (right or left) that is normally assigned to the pole position on the grid (Fuji = Left).
  • There should be no overlap between cars in the staggered formation.
  • Speed limit on formation lap is 63 mph / 100 kph and pole sitter should maintain this speed (or less) to keep pack together, in particular in the final sector.
  • Weaving or other tire warming procedures are NOT allowed during the formation lap.
  • Pole sitter will exit the last corner and take care to give enough time to allow all cars behind to safely exit the final corner.
  • Start marker for Tsukuba is start/finish line.
  • The pole sitter should start the race by accelerating to race pace at the identified start marker (track specific and may or may not be the start/finish line).
  • All other drivers should accelerate after the driver in front of you does so.
  • No passing is allowed before the start marker.
  • Be cautious and courteous in the first turn. Dive bombing will be penalized and will not be tolerated.

Standard Clean OLR Rules Apply:

  • Unless otherwise specified, all rules from the original WRS event apply.
  • You are expected to drive clean at all times as if you are racing in the WRS. All participants are required to follow the GTPlanet Online Racing Rules & Guidelines.
  • 3D3 Race Stewards (who are taking part in race, but will review the replay) reserve the right to kick out or invalidate the result of any driver from the Race Room for driving offensively. If you ignore any warnings from the stewards and are kicked out of the race room, you will not be allowed to participate in future 3D3 events.
  • Contact with walls should be avoided. Wall riding/bouncing to gain time will be penalized and/or can result in disqualification.
  • Rumble/ripple strips are part of the track
  • Runoff areas are not part of the track including green painted concrete. The Light Brown Surface to the outside of the Rumble Strip on the Left Side of the Track before the Start Finish Line is Not Track.
  • Limit your contact with walls or objects, visible or invisible
  • No hybrids
  • No cheating of any kind
  • Nothing that goes against the spirit of the rules
  • Passing and Blocking: Aggressive blocking is not permitted, but the driver in front has the right to choose his/her line and braking point and drivers behind should respect that line. Be especially careful when you are on older tires than the competition as the speed difference may be significant. These events are "for fun" so just play nice and take a conservative rather than an aggressive approach when possible.

Good Luck, OLR Team:gtplanet:

Signed up on Reserve for NA, definitely wont make practice on Tuesday, but should be home in time for the race on Wednesday.👍

With the way I've been qualifying lately, I get the feeling I will be half a lap down before turn 1.

I'm now on reserve for both races. My paddles are completely missing shifts again and I've ordered the new F1 wheel which is scheduled to arrive on Wednesday. If I get them in time I'll confirm for the NA race at least. Unfortunately, this isn't the combo to be using AT! The EU race is looking very marginal given my work load at the moment.

Signing up. I'll need as much practice as I can get seeing as the two times I've attempted this combo online, I spun pretty frequently. :scared:

Cool. 👍 It sounded like in the TT thread that you hadn't tried BB 3/1 yet...if not, definitely give it a try. I spun a lot less both offline and online with just that change.

Also, being completely off the brakes once you start turn-in helps too.

I'd give that a try now, but apparently PSN is down.

Edit: Just got signed in finally. :dunce:

The downside to using an altered BB (or other R/A functions) in a race like this, where we're using an Arcade Mode/Recommended car, is that you have to adjust it once for qualifying, and then AGAIN once the race starts. Luckily, with a formation lap (vs grid start), you have a little more time to do it. 👍

That BB of 3/1 works nicely. Only times I spun in ten laps was gassing it a bit too early out of a corner or taking it too tight and the camber of the road throwing me around.

Looks like pit entry can be taken safely under 90 mph.

Doesn't look like the tires wear that much, but I'm fairly easy on my tires as long as i'm not sliding around.

Have laps been decided yet for the race? I'm guessing somewhere in the 50 lap area?

The lap count will be finalized after practice tomorrow. We try to make the races last between 45 and 55 minutes including estimates for pit stops and slowing lap times as tires degrade. I have gotten a total of 8-10 laps on this so I don't really have a good feel for it at this point in time. I would think 45 would be a good rough estimate.

That's what I'm hoping to avoid 👍
Sliding will just kill the tires - leave the lead foot at home :D

With race events lasting ~50 minutes, 45-50 laps sounds pretty bang on. We will post the final lap count in the next 24 hrs, just to be certain.

Edit: Tree'd by Tim.... it happens a lot - he types faster than I think

I ran 25 laps last night and things got hairy just after 20 - for me to be consistent I'd probably have to pit after 18 laps - looking at 2 pits for a race of about 50 laps.

Clearly this one is going to reward consistency - just a few minor lapses with the throttle and it will be all over.

Also, adjusting the RA functions during a rolling lap isn't that easy - any chance we could adjust those in the first 30 seconds and then start the slow lap afterward?

Should be at practice this evening 👍

Will add all 3D3's when I get on my PS3 👍

Yes, you'll need to send the FR as you were removed from the list due to inactivity. Let me know when you send the FR and I'll log in and accept.

You are GTP_Matthew right? I don't see it on your profile and the PSN listed in your profile doesn't quite match the one in the 3D3 Driver Database. MattyMc1996 vs Mattymc96. Should I update that also?

I'll send the FR's just before I start GT5 up for the practice session.

Also MattyMc96 was my old GTP name whereas MattyMc1996 is my main PSN account. I only use GTP_Matthew (So yes I am GTP_Matthew) for WRS sanctioned events or time trials.

So it's:
GTP name: Matty
PSN (Or SEN) name: GTP_Matthew.

👍

OK, I sent the FR already from the three 3D3 accounts -- just in case nobody is around to accept them... as soon as you login and accept you'll have access to the lounges. Practice will only be in the main lounge (GTP_3D3Racing) so that's the only one relevant for today anyway.

Thanks. I realised this as soon as I went online :dopey: Is the practice at 7GMT or 7BST?

EDIT: Never mind, found out I'm an hour early

Just finished setting up my Camaro for the current TT. Will be practicing now.

I also need to go through my recently met players list and send some FR out.

Are we allowed in lounge if it's empty? :dopey:

You are allowed in the lounge as long as qualifying for other online events isn't happening. 👍 No need to be afraid of being the first one there. You'll just have to set the room up to the proper settings though.

Yah, sorry guys you will probably have to manage practice without an Admin today. Work is too busy for me at the moment and I assume nobody in EU is available to set it up. So just use the specs in the OP to set up the lounge and have fun. The chances of me making a race tomorrow are slim and none at this point.

Had a great race in the lounge there. Tried my best to hold w-g-e off but could only do so until lap 9, then he overtook me and flew about 3 seconds ahead in the final lap  But nonetheless great sportsmanship by him by not getting frustrated about only seeing my back bumper for 8 laps and dive-bombing me, I repaid that by giving you enough room round the outside to start lap 9 👍

At least I lead most laps in it ;)

I managed to get a 20 lap run on a set of tires, but once they go passed 20 it starts getting tricky to take the hairpins. This race will undoubtedly be a 2 stopper for me.

And my wheel is overheating a bit again. Turned FFB down on the wheel itself but it doesn't seem to have helped. Might be time for a cleaning or something... :indiff:

Edit: Just looking through the vents that aren't very adequate for cooling, I can see some dust build up. I guess the only thing I could do is what I do with my PS3; open it up and remove as much dust as possible.

After last week's Monaco NA race, I turned the FFB on the wheel down from 50% to 30% but not even an hour around Tuskuba today..... :(

At least my pedals work perfectly now.
