San Diego wildcard event "Racer X" - After party!!

ok, so some people are talking about meeting after the event for some drinks, but for those of us who don't drink I was thinking more like going Kart racing.

now in SD there are two hot spots open to the public.

what do you people think?

Well some of those indoor karting places have bars, so that might hit two birds with one stone. Whichever place is closest/cheapest/fastest karts.

I also have a rental car on reserve which may help for transportation.
Edit: still thinking about ditching rental car....

Unfortunately I just realized that K1 is too far away. Miramar is relatively close and it looks like they have group rates starting at 8 racers.

Oh either way it will still be a good time regardless of the track. There is a similar indoor place in deleware. The karts aren't the fastest but on a tight indoor track it really doesn't matter when you've got a group that knows what there doing. And I'd assume we should all know what we're doing. I have a tag kart myself that I run but that's a story for another time.

yes sir, miramar speed circuit has a restaurant with Beea :cheers:

and they have gasoline karts, not electric like K1spped.. plus they have nice prices for big groups. so I think is better there

P.S. I will have a rental too, so I can help with transportation.

Lmao I return after a few days of work and now were talking about after parties!?? I have a go pro i'll bring that for Karting. also I have my own car to drive has room for 3 (got me plus co-driver) so that leave's 3 seats.

I think that's the best thing to do... wait until Thursday to see how things pan out for each and everyone of us.

but the main reason of this thread is to at least have an idea (or head count) of who would be willing to go.

we can all talk about the details on Thursday. And I really think that the best day to go to Miramar would be on Thursday right after Racer X.

I have a GoPro too, I'll bring it ova 💡

Just so you guys know, all of us in the Nationals have to be back at the hotel by 8pm on Thursday so I actually think this would be much better suited for Friday night since we're all free after the first round of competition's over in the afternoon or so, then we'd have all night to hang out, plus... it's Friday!

But I would totally love to kart it up with a bunch of you.

Just so you guys know, all of us in the Nationals have to be back at the hotel by 8pm on Thursday so I actually think this would be much better suited for Friday night since we're all free after the first round of competition's over in the afternoon or so, then we'd have all night to hang out, plus... it's Friday!

But I would totally love to kart it up with a bunch of you.

Kind of agree because we don't want to risk missing or being late to the reception, but it does say we won't leave the event space until 7:30 pm on Friday. But who knows, let's just plan it when we get there.

Hopefully we can, I have a feeling we'll be needing the stress relief.

Depending on whether or not I qualify for Racer X

Id be down to go. But would need a ride. And i have a flight home to catch at 8:30pm so time depending. Of corse im hoping for the best for racer x. But just going to have fun anyway.

This would be quite cool, though I think GT Academy finalists should keep travel times in mind. Miramar is a 30 minute drive from the hotel they'll be staying at (and I'm not sure you'll be able to get the shuttle to drop you off at Miramar, you may have trouble getting their unless you take a taxi or rent a car) and as mentioned, the reception begins there at 8pm.
