New Beetle ETG454

volkswagen-new-beetle-rsi.jpg

Imagine this.
It's a Friday afternoon. You and your VW New Beetle RSi (recently tuned by ETG) are going for a track day at your local racetrack. When you pull up, all the guys in the Porsches and Ferraris point and laugh...but when the race starts, they begin to notice it's not a regular Beetle RSi...it's a New Beetle ETG454 (Ed's Tuning Garage, 454hp). You floor it, and get hit by 1.35Gs when those 454 horses launch you from 0-60 in just 3.3 seconds. If the straight is long enough, you'll top out at 175mph, just as fast as any ordinary Porsche Cayman R.
Here's what you need to buy.

GT Auto
  • Car Color: Marsrot (VW Color)
  • Rims: BBS RE-MG
  • Rim Color: Silver (Close to stock color of BBS LM-R)

Upgrades
  • Racing Soft Tires
  • Fully Customizable Suspension
  • Clutch: Twin-Plate
  • Flywheel: Semi-Racing
  • Adjustable LSD
  • Torque Sensing Center Differential
  • Carbon Drive Shaft
  • Fully Customizable Transmission
  • High RPM Range Turbo Kit
  • Sports Exhaust Manifold
  • Catalytic Converter: Sports
  • Titanium Racing Exhaust
  • Sports Intake Manifold
  • Racing Air Filter
  • ECU Tuning
  • Stage 3 Engine Tuning
  • Stage 3 Weight Reduction
  • Window Weight Reduction
  • Chassis Reinforcement

Now for the tune. Tuned on Grand Valley East with all aids off (ABS on 1); most lap times were around 1:06.

Brakes
  • 7/9

Suspension
  • Ride Height: -22/-20
  • Spring Rate: 12.8/8.0
  • Extension: 8/8
  • Compression: 7/7
  • Anti-Roll Bars: 6/6
  • Camber Angle: 2.8/2.6
  • Toe Angle: -0.48/-0.10

LSD
  • Front: 30/50/30
  • Rear: 30/50/30

Torque Split
  • 30/70

Transmission

  • 1st: 2.925
  • 2nd: 1.995
  • 3rd: 1.445
  • 4th: 1.125
  • 5th: 0.920
  • 6th: 0.795
  • Final: 4.200

Tuner's Notes: Should be easy for beginners. It also should be a good tune for all tracks, long or short. If you're racing on La Sarthe, it may max out, so just lengthen the 6th gear. My test driver Hillcrest823 got a time of 7:04.121 around the Nurburgring Nordschliefe when testing it. His rating is a 97.5/100.

Will definitely give this a try! I just bought one of these. :)

How many PPs does it have?

Good tune. Break balance is a little off though. I'd change it to 4/8. It locks up too much. Other wise quite good. I got 1.06.417 first lap on grand valley east. About to take a run on the ring.
