(IMPORTANT) Possible Solution To 2.10 Update Looping (Black Screen)

I too suffered the looping saga after installing ver 2.10 Gt update but luckily found a solution to the nagging issue.

The problem was that i had a couple cars that had been corrupted (how,i dont have a clue). These cars would have been identified by an exclamation mark next to their images along with the fact that one would have been unable to get into the same vehicles in the past & because the last update dealt with adjustment of PP's, these cars would in effect pose a problem with the completion of the update (Update Unable To Access Same Vehicles).

My solution was to find a Ps3 with Ver 2.09 still installed, set up my profile & sign in on my profile, then sign out.

Reload my save data under my profile, avoid the prompts to (Install Ver 2.10) & prompts to (Sign In) during load up of game. This process will get you to your garage.

Proceed to scan your garage for the problem cars with the exclamation marks next to them & delete them (Premium & Standard Vehicles). After doing so, save data.

Install save data back to your Ver 2.10 Ps3 & you will get into your garage without any issues.

I do hope this works for you guys with similar issues................

I think that the cars you are talking about with exclamation marks and the cars that I am having problems with are two different things. The cars that I, and possibly others, are having problems with have no exclamation marks. They are cars that somehow got corrupted during their save process. There is no way to delete these cars, even with your method, which I have tried twice now.

The yellow exclamation mark cars are part of another problem which I have read on these forums before. Not the same issue.

Again, I will repeat, I have tried your method twice with no success. Cars are still not able to be deleted.

EDIT: And perhaps you should change the thread title to "Possible Solution" as it does not work for me and may not work for other people as well.

Maybe it won't work for you but maybe help some other members out :)

The yellow exclamation mark cars are a different issue than the non-exclamation mark cars that I and are having problems with. Sure, his method may fix the yellow exclamation mark cars, but it won't work with these cars.

My locked car has been locked for 4 or 5 updates.

Exclamation cars are when his DLC are not installed yet. Thats why appear in yours friend console.
 
I understand where Cargo's coming from. In my case it worked. If he has cars that are corupted other that the type i mentioned, we would definately be searching for a different solution.

In my case the two vehicles were the Stealth Gtr & Nsx of which i could not get into on my Ps even when i had 2.09Ver installed (NB:I had reinstalled the download for these two cars) but when i but the same game save on (another 2.09 ver Ps3), it actually allowed me to get at the 2 vehicles and delete them.

If you have tried that on another Ps with no success, i guess the problem is definately a severe one.....

I sincerely hope you find the answer .....

Yes, your issue with the DLC cars is an entirely different issue than what we are dealing with, with the other non-deletable cars. Others are certainly free to try your method, but I can tell you right now that it will not work with the cars we are having problems with. The problem goes much deeper with these cars (no yellow exclamation mark) that can't be deleted. It is going to take some serious hacking, as mentioned in my thread, or a patch from PD to fix this problem.

But how you know cars what you can't delete is your problem?
It could be issue with DLC cars too, but anyway it's PD's work to solve that problem..NOT customers..

Them are like Ghost cars. Are in the garage but we cant do anything with them

My theory are, in the last update 2.10 a lot of cars change the PP. The game read all the cars data and convert his PP to the the update. When the game found that ghost cars is when start to loop.
Thats my theory.
Will be nice by PD to do patch that reborn that cars or just delete it from garage.

Audi R8, Nissan 240z and nascar cars are in the list of PP modified cars?

Yep, you are correct. And the cars mentioned did indeed have their PP values changed. Thats where the looping begins when the game gets to these ghost cars and can't update their data.
 
When I try and get into a online race I sometimes experience the black screen and the "Gran Turismo" will show up on your lower right corner, All I do is restart my ps3 hasn't happened to me in a long time. I guess PD kind of fixed it.

Okay, so I haven't updated to 2.10 yet, but I will tonight. After everything I've read about these problems, I am thinking a game backup is in order again.
But if I do have this problem, is there an alternate way of remedying this, since I don't have 2 PS3's.

I am wondering, is it a problem with those who have not yet downloaded the Corvette from the store and updated? Could be a right mess up in the code where it looks for a non existant car and constantly loops because it cannot find it?
