One day, I got bored with those easy GT Mode races. Suddenly, an idea came to my mind: "Why don't I take my 86 GT to the Cape Ring race of the GT World Championship?" And so I did. I had great fun and won by a tenth of a second. đź‘Ť

Examples of races like the above race are:

  • Suzuki GSX - R/4 Concept vs. GT World Championship :@: the 'Ring / Finish: 1st / Margin of Victory / Loss: 0.460 seconds / Driver: GT5Power
  • Brian Vickers CAMRY vs. Like the Wind :@: Indy Superspeedway / Finish: 1st / Margin of Victory / Loss: 0.003 seconds / Driver: GT5Power
  • Ford GT Road Car vs. American Championship :@: Laguna Seca / Finish: 1st / Margin of Victory / Loss: 0.353 seconds / Driver: GT5Power
  • Subaru Impreza WRX (RM'd) vs. GT All Stars Championship / Finish (Points): 1st / Margin of Victory / Loss: 0 points / Driver: Broseph
Post your uneven races here! :)

Tom's Petronas Lexus SC430 vs. 24 Hours of NĂĽrburgring. It's not just a race, it's a quest to reclaim the ring from the hands of the evil LMP beasts.

Also known as:
"Lords of the Ring"
"The LMPire strikes back"
"Let it rain, let it rain, let it rain"

Basically you have to build a gap in the corners and try not to lose too much on the straights, it's actually a pretty good balance. One mistake and everything may be lost... When (if) the rain comes, you need to push it as far as possible to build a gap, because when the rain ends they'll release the hounds!

I was in the midst of tackling the 24h Nurburgring with a Jaguar XJ13. I was 19h in with a 3min lead. Then update 2.07 happened and that caused me to have to quit the race :grumpy: however, up to that point I was running a very close race. Dry 100% of the way. Not a single drop of rain.

Great post! I'll have to check these out. I don't have any "uneven" race experiences of my own, not yet anyway. But this does remind me of the good old GT3 days when I'd take the ZZII to the GT World Championship and narrowly beat the Toyota GTOne Race Car. Very hairy fun! :)

I used to do that with my Dodge Viper tuned to 1200hp. đź‘Ť good times

I remember when the Car of the Week thread was around, I posted that this was a good race... take a TVR V8S '91 and drop into the A-Spec Expert Tuned Car Championship SSR5 Race. If you can find this race without the S2000 GT1 Turbo, you stand a chance of winning it. Drive her hard though...

My car has: ECU
Sports Intake Manifold
Racing Air Filter
Sports Exhaust Manifold
Sports Catalytic Converter
Titanium Racing Exhaust
Custom Tranny
All Drivetrain Parts
Custom Susp.
Racing Tires

Even with all that, it sits at 313 Hp/317 ft-lb, so it does give up quite a few ponies against the tuned competition.

Have a good one

I love to take my FTO SuperTouring Car against the Dream Car Championship. If the XJR-9 doesn't enter, I can usually pull off wins on every race. If the XJR-9 enters I just can't keep up on the straights. R2 tires. Also Mazda Furai, Like The Wind. Indy is a real challenge but can be done, usually on the last lap.

I won the GT All-stars championship with a race modified WRX. Ended tied in points with the Mazda 787B but it gave me first because I got first place in the last race of the series (Tokyo). There was A LOT of blocking going on in those races, I can tell you that.

McLaren F1 vs. Like the Wind Indy. I barely pulled it off.
Also, Ford GT Road Car (in fancy gold chrome :sly:) vs. Like the Wind Daytona Road. Believe it or not, I won this one too.

Ouch. That had to hurt. :ouch:
Great post!

Wow that idea is quite fun, just a tiny gap between you and and 2nd racer.
Thanks!

Wow! I'll add that in the OP! đź‘Ť

Keep 'em coming, guys! :)

See? :)

I just trounced Like the Wind with an Audi R10 (okay that was easy). It looks like the LMPs can get beaten by all sorts of cars!

Another one (this is not exactly uneven): X2010 vs. Sunday Cup Autumn Ring Mini. Let the AI complete two laps. Then start and try to catch up! :scared:

Low-grip tires make for a much more entertaining race than a low-power car in my opinion. I used to be amused by the whole destroying them in the corners then weaving wildly on the straights to keep them behind thing, but that got really old somewhere around half-way through GT3. With lower-grip tires you can set yourself up to be roughly the same speed in the corners so there's less of a mis-match resulting in less collisions, and you're much less likely to get spun on the straights with a lower speed differential there too.

That and of course driving any car at all on "those" tires is absolutely no fun whatsoever. I only do that online because I have very little choice in the matter.

Some of the "Special Missions" in GT4 were like this. đź‘Ť

(And also some of them were very much like the "Catch The Rabbit" Online Seasonal races we have now)
