Must be because of age. Y'know it must be hard to be among so many little boys and not being able to hold an erection. I wonder why we still need middle ages in modern times.

4 threads talking about the pope. 4 threads talking about little boys.

If I started a new thread, I would have. I humbly apologise for this overlook and vow for it never to happen again.

And now he will explain everything else you did wrong. 👍

From 2005 to 2013 is quite a short time, but at the same time, oh so long too.

Does this mean Darth Vader takes over? :sly:

Fr Dougal Maguire for Pope!

He didn't last long did he!

No, he didn't. He was frail to begin with, and I'm not surprised - even though this has not happened in 600 years.

And, yes, I know whom you're talking about. Evil Presley, right? (I'm plugged in to the news, you know.)

After watching The Borgias on tv, this pope stuff seems good fun. Order some invasions, drink wine and have your way with whom you chose. I can't see it has changed that much in 500 years.

I'm going to apply for the job. Not as Pope, just as the guy that lights the little fire when the cardinals have God has chosen.

Then after you do that, 'they' put you on it. That's why the smoke changes.

I'm a heretic, I deserve it.

If you do get the gig, make sure you take some Werthers originals, a crossword book and some tea bags. Those old sods may get bored after waiting for the sign from god.

Being the Head of State (albeit a small city-state, though with far-ranging influence and tangible power in locations throughout the world) his resignation also has political overtones that will run concurrently with this situation.

Unless the next Pope has more progressive (some say radical) views on abortion, gay marriage and sitting on large stashes of cash and priceless art while much of the world's population starves, then I can't see much changing.

The Catholic church will never support gay marriage nor abortion, accepting gay people as somewhat being equal and allowing birth control is all we could ever hope for I'm afraid, and even that seems far fetched at this point.
Many criticize their condom policy but strictly speaking (and maybe that's how it's supposed to be meant, not saying that's very helpful or desired mind you), if you (and your partner) do everything according to the church's rules (and not just selectively), you wouldn't even need condoms.

Maybe this pope will bring back the Inquisition. That would be cool.

This hasn't happened since what? The 15th century? There has to be some major thing that's going to be coming down the line soon and Benedict doesn't want to deal with the fall out.

Maybe the next pope will be more liberal in his beliefs like John Paul II was. It's what the Church needs.
