Sorry, but the Catholic church will never accept abortion or gay marriage. And gays are not treated as lesser humans; they are merely sinners like the rest of us. The priceless art has nothing to do with the suffering of the world. Indeed, the catholic ministries do more to help than most.

I bet anything that the next pope will have strong Communio ties. And, with age being a factor for resignation, that leaves me to believe Marc Ouellet will be the next pope. The church wants to be in full stride with the new evangelism-- the Pope, with great humility, most likely realizes that a younger, more charismatic figure would better fit the mission of the church going forward. Such is the legacy of the great John Paul II.

Or rubbers.

But the touching of little children? As long as no one finds out, just keep on doing it!

It had to happen... I think. I don't recall his age, but if I remember right, he had some relation to the Nazis. I'm not 100% sure what, - but I'm sure someone knows about it 👍.

Edit: Thank you Encyclopedia 👍.

He's 85 and he was in Hitler Jugend.

Nice. I'm sure the homosexual community ('gays'? really?) will rest at ease knowing they're being termed 'sinners' by the church just for being attracted to the same sex.

What's it for then?

Good post, Omnis . . . let me comment:

Blue = Hardly imaginable; yet if 'Forgiveness' was Christ's primary message - you would think that the papacy would address these issues with more worldly wisdom.

Red = I agree; it was and still is a palpable influence.

Ooh! God forbid we make an exception for their sins because it might hurt their feelings!

Hey, leave the silly, bitter anti-catholic sentiment out of this thread please. This here is fer talkin' 'bout Popes 'n such.
