So last year I put together an event in the group CRAP. It was a low PP event based upon tyre regulations and teams. It had great potential and the idea was received with massive support and interest. However... I added too many cars and 2 of them broke the series.

So this series is like the nephew of that series. It uses the same tyre regulations and team ideas but with a better and smaller selection of cars.

Round 2, Tonight! Nurburgring and Madrid!

Interested drivers without confirmed teams
-Freshseth83 = GMT -8
-joetruckv8 = GMT -8

Team Rules
- Each team drives a single model of car
- Teams consist of 2 or more members members, however only two drivers race per race weekend
- The points scored by the two drivers will be combined and be added to the total on the team championship table
- If only one driver can race, only their points will be added to the total team points.

Car Regulations
- All cars have a set HP and a set weight
- All cars in a team must have the same colour body, but the rims can be different
- Cars which have customisable numbers should run numbers that either are sequential or have a repeating pattern to them

Qualifying Regulations
- Tyre compound that was used in qualifying for a driver's fastest lap will be the same as the compound started on in the race
- Qualifying will consist of 1 out lap, 2 hot laps and 1 in lap with everyone being set of at 15 second intervals.
- There will be 5 minutes after the end of qualifying for team strategy to be discussed

Grid Structure
Race 1 = Qualified order
Race 2 = Reverse of race 1 results with a rolling start

Weather Selection
Using dice
- Die 1: controls the weather conditions
Result: 1+6 = 0%, 2 = 25%, 3 = 50%, 4 = 75%, 5 = 100%
- This is weighted towards dry as most people prefer racing in the dry

- Die 2: controls surface water at start
Result: 1 = 0%, 2 = 20%, 3 = 40%, 4 = 60%, 5 = 80%, 6 = 100%

- Die 3: controls weather changeability
Result: 1 = 0, 2 = 2, 3 = 4, 4 = 6, 5 = 8, 6 = 10

Race Regulations

- Race 2 will start with a pace lap behind the steward's pace car (if they are not racing) or the pole sitter.
- No overtaking during this lap
- The pace car will then enter the pits (if applicable) and the pole sitter's car maintains the speed limit until the they are past the pit entrance.
- Overtaking is now allowed

- During a dry race two compounds of tyre MUST be used and ONLY two:
-- These may be either racing hard and racing soft.
-- These may be racing hard and racing medium.
-- These MAY NOT be racing medium and racing soft.
- These tyres may be used in any order depending on the number of pitstops and the driver's qualifying tyre.

- If the weather is different in the race to qualifying, drivers may change their tyres before the race starts.
- If any type of rain tyres are used, tyre selection becomes free.

Championship
- There will be only a team championship as this will promote team work within teams

I got interested in it, but the rotation on the teams ain't a good thing in my opinion..

This may be removed. It basically is there in case people find it difficult to make every race...

You interested?

I'm not sure how the car selection shall work... It may be random... It may not be... Not sure. Once there is interest I shall do a poll...

Okay dokey... The NSX currently isn't in, it may return if it can get competitive without being too unstable...

I can run it just fine. Hard tires or whatever. It's only issue is 5 gears instead of 6. But when I did Super touring, it was a blast.

Of course you're in! We need a new team name... And one more person... Lets see how many people we can get in...

I'd say the Mazda RX-7 has the best overall package. Fastest by 0.5 second in testing before we took out 20BHP...

I would be interested in joining this racing series, but I am just slightly confused with how this works so if you make a final version of this thread, then you would have to try to clear that up in the final version of this thread. More specifically, I would find it hard to keep up with the tyre compounds that people are using.

Maybe for different tracks you could have a tyre system like in F1 where the tyres available for the event are picked beforehand and competitors must use both compounds in a dry race but if it starts raining to the point where intermediates or wets must be used, then this is not required. So for example, tricky circuits that have loads of tight bends, softer slick compounds could be allocated. But for tracks that are easier or more open, harder compounds must be used.

Also, a final suggestion would be the pace car driver. I wouldn't mind being the pace car driver, but we must consider the slots available when doing lobbies. The maximum amount of drivers in one lobby at any given time is 16, which would mean that there is only 14 drivers or there can be 15 if the pace car driver doubles as the steward for that race. So maybe anyone who is interested in becoming a steward must also be a pace car driver to leave maximum room for drivers?

Just some suggestions on improving this racing series 👍 . And of course I'm interested.

MSTER, those are some nice ideas. I actually liked them.

Mster, I have been thinking the same thing about the tyres. Yes, once it is raining you can use any combination of tyres.

The pace car may be removed. I have been its pointless to have without cautions. So instead the leading driver would lead the field...

Thank you, it seems that I really am a creative person :dopey:

I actually think you don't need to remove the pace car. It just means that the steward for the race would also have to be driving the pace car so that the maximum amount of actual race drivers can be maintained. The steward would also have to watch his mini-map and look out for incidents and call out cautions. After the race, the steward would watch the replay, and decide that if any further action must be taken.
