In the event of a field of 13-16 drivers we will disable mics and race with one grid. With 17+ we will split the grid.

Eligibility

This WRS-Online event hosted by 3D3 Racing is open to GTP_Registered members only. If you are not currently on the registry run the GTP_Registry qualifier and join now!

Registration Instructions

The following must be performed by every driver for every event:
  • Click the registration button above, fill-in and submit the online registration form (use your GTP_ tag ID)
  • Leave a quick note in this thread to let us know you've registered and any other comments.
The following must be performed only one time per driver (not per event):
  • Send a PSN friend request to GTP_3D3Racing, GTP_3D3_A and GTP_3D3_B from your GTP_tag account.
  • Submit the 3D3 Racing Online Driver Database Entry Form. Your information will need to be verified before you are added to the db and before your ID will appear in the registered driver table above. You can view the official driver database here.

There is a 32 car/driver limit for this event (per region) and slots are awarded on the grid using a first come first serve basis. Reference the registered drivers table above for availability. This is a stand alone race and points are not tallied for a series. Future WRS-Online races hosted by 3D3 racing may have different driver limits and will require re-registration using the same first come first serve basis and participation in future events is optional.

Registration Changes

If you want to change your time slot, add a time slot or update your color choices just click on the registration link and fill out the form again and submit with new values. Your last entry will override any previous entries.

Cancellations

If for some reason, after you register for the event, you are unable to attend please click the registration button above and complete the form again selecting "cancel" as your status. Please also post a note in this thread as the table above can take some time to update.

Delaying or Restarting Race Start

Once the race countdown timer has started, the race will only be restarted in these cases:
  • Multiple drivers report a black screen/hang, instead of the 3-2-1 countdown.
  • One or more drivers get disconnected before race-pace has begun ("GO" for grid-starts, end of formation lap for rolling starts).
  • Steward realizes there is a condition that would lead to an unfair or poor race experience.

Once the race countdown timer has started, the race will explicitly NOT be restarted for:
  • Latecomers, even if you've registered
  • Driver realizes he picked the wrong car parts (ie, tires) or driving options (ie, Auto tranny)

  • After the system places you on the grid drivers should proceed into stagger formation in order.
  • Pole sitter will choose his/her preferred side of the track.
  • There should be no overlap between cars in the staggered formation.
  • Speed limit on formation lap is 75 mph | 120 km/h and pole sitter should maintain this speed (or less) to keep pack together, in particular in the final sector.
  • Weaving or other tire warming procedures are NOT allowed during the formation lap.
  • Pole sitter will exit the last corner and take care to give enough time to allow all cars behind to safely exit the final corner.

  • All other drivers should accelerate after the driver in front of you does so.
  • No passing is allowed before the start marker.
  • Be cautious and courteous in the first turn. Dive bombing will be penalized and will not be tolerated.

Standard Clean OLR Rules Apply:

  • Unless otherwise specified, all rules from the original WRS event apply.
  • You are expected to drive clean at all times as if you are racing in the WRS. All participants are required to follow the GTPlanet Online Racing Rules & Guidelines.
  • 3D3 Race Stewards (who are taking part in race, but will review the replay) reserve the right to kick out or invalidate the result of any driver from the Race Room for driving offensively. If you ignore any warnings from the stewards and are kicked out of the race room, you will not be allowed to participate in future 3D3 events.
  • Contact with walls should be avoided. Wall riding/bouncing to gain time will be penalized and/or can result in disqualification.
  • Rumble/ripple strips are part of the track
  • Runoff areas are not part of the track including green painted concrete.
  • Limit your contact with walls or objects, visible or invisible
  • No hybrids
  • No cheating of any kind
  • Nothing that goes against the spirit of the rules
  • Passing and Blocking: Aggressive blocking is not permitted, but the driver in front has the right to choose his/her line and braking point and drivers behind should respect that line. Be especially careful when you are on older tires than the competition as the speed difference may be significant. These events are "for fun" so just play nice and take a conservative rather than an aggressive approach when possible.

Good Luck, OLR Team:gtplanet:

Signed up for this one. I do enjoy driving the GT-R actually. Quite a satisfying ride.

I've registered, I am gonna try to attend the wednesday races in the future, altough it is not easy to fit it in my working shedule's....

Tyre wear fast :scared:

Notice that the setting is in orange. That actually means it's tentative pending testing and will switch to blue when it's final. Typically everything is set by Monday.

When we run Racing tires the default is to try "Normal" first. Sports Tires = "Fast", Comfort Tires = "Very Fast". But we reserve the right to change that per combo depending on the unique tire wear rates of each car & track.

I'll be testing tonight and will discuss with the admins before we finalize the settings tomorrow. I haven't even run a lap yet offline or online.

All specs for the race are now final and we're sticking with "FAST" tire wear.

For me at least, it's pretty darn close between a one and two stop strategy. So close in fact, that I may decide during the race which I'm opting for depending on where I'm at and who I'm racing against.

Don't forget that the system does not calculate your fuel properly with the "FAST" setting so you should figure out your fuel consumption manually and override whatever the system recommends during your pit stop(s). If you just click "OK" expect to run out of fuel pretty early in the race... this GT-R drinks petrol for breakfast.

Finally, a word or two on pit entry and exit.

On pit entry you must slow down for a safe entry and should commit to pit lane at the beginning of the white line. If someone is diving on pit lane and you are staying out, you cannot go right of the white lines to pick up a draft.. you must return to the track prior to the start of the white line Do not use walls to guide you in the pits, you should avoid contact and slow with the brakes for a safe entry. You do not however, have to keep two tires inside the white lines... slowing enough to enter safely without touching the walls is good enough.

On pit exit you can return to the racing line as soon as you want even if it means crossing the white line, but you must be considerate of oncoming traffic which has the right of way. Basically, stay to the right of the white lines unless the track is clear. If in doubt stay inside (to the right) all the way to the apex and leave room on the outside of turn 1 for the oncoming car. Any incidents are on the fault driver exiting the pits if he crosses the white line or dives on to the racing line without yielding.

I did some testing today because I can not attend the Tuesday practice.

Went into racemode ,did my laps and took a pitstop.

(Game says tank 40L, based on nothing I can think off :dopey:)

The fuel bar says 88L.

Does that mean I still have 12 in the tank and if I take 88L,I have a full 100L tank?

So if I need 95L to complete the race,I have to tank 95 - 12 = 83L

I say, PD,

Yes, if you add 88 to that 12, you'll be full at 100. PD got lazy with the fuel tanks.

Please feel free to watch my track guide for this weeks combo, some useful tips ;)

I take it you'll be on a two stop strategy with that approach.

Would be curious to know how you decide to alter your approach online given that tire wear comes into play significantly in this one. Are the tenths you gain with those extra slides worth it over the entire stint or does it cancel out by the end of the stint over a less aggressive approach to the corners?

 It will be interesting to find out in the practice session tonight :)
I would imagine that maybe running a couple of tenths off my ultimate pace might be the best strategy but I will see how the tyres hold up :) :nervous:

Good practice session guys 👍 In the last race, after the first lap, my times were: 42.7, 42.6, 42.6, 42.7, 43.2, and the last one I think was in 43s also, so the tyres are good for at least 4 laps  I was trying not to scrub them too much but I did in a few corners :sly:

For my race strategy I was seriously considering sitting in Tim's slipstream for the majority of the race to save tyres

I won't mind that as long as you keep everyone else behind you. :sly:

I will be there for the NA practice tonight. I could try and practice the lines Bandit took for the next week, and never come close to that time. I did see some useful tips though in the video, was using too high a gear for one turn. I need to be a little more aggressive in my driving, sometimes being smooth does not cut it. Not a whole lot of smoke coming off my tires in the TT this week.

Online with tire wear smooth will pay off more than you think.

Yes online with tire wear will be a new experience for me. Ran 16 laps last night to see if it was worth trying 1 stop. Not sure what to do, might watch and see what you guys do. I am sure I will have a good vantage from my trailing position I will be in :).

NOTE: The NA practice slot is usually pretty sparse. We had a good crowd of 7-8 at EU today, but it's not uncommon for nobody to show up for NA practice these days. The times don't work for me at all on the west coast... I'll be practicing tonight starting around 8:30 PM pacific.

Post here if you open the room and hopefully someone will join you.

EDIT: I might hop into the lounge shortly am in the lounge and will stay for about 45-60 minutes.

EDIT: OUT

What sort of lap times where people getting in practice? Would be useful so I can get up to the pace whilst I do some practicing now.
