Welcome to the GT5 Car of the Month Club, the perfect club for any lover of brilliant cars and gentleman racing. Each month our crack-pot team of drivers, racers and petrol-heads discovers exceptional cars found in GT5 and "delivers" them directly to your PS3 with only the very best making the grade. There is no membership or obligation, this club is open to all members of GTP who abide by the OLR and the Good Racecraft Guide. Racing will be available on a first-come/first-serve basis in our private lounge and we have alternate lounges available if there are more people than can fit in one room. The main racing lounge is PSN ID: ORCA_Champ and the alternate lounge is PSN ID: ORCA_SpotRace1. Anybody can open the lounge whenever they want for practice or racing, just make a post here to let others know!

Each month will feature a selected car or group of cars that we will race twice a week (at least) for the month. Our official racing times will be Tuesdays at 8:00pm EST and Saturdays at 3pm EST, the lounge will open approximately 20-30 minutes before those times for some practice. These are not points races, they are simply to enjoy the car and the company of other clean drivers. We will do continuous races starting with a couple short races so everyone can get accustomed to the car/track and drivers and working our way up to longer races.

Race Lengths (will vary depending on track and number of people)
Warm-up Races: 3-5 laps
Medium Race: 8-12 laps
Long Race: 10-20 laps
*The first race will start with "fastest first" from the practice session,
each following race will start with "reverse grid based on previous race results".
Damage-Light • Grip-Real • Tire/Fuel Wear-Fast • Slipstream-Weak • Penalties-Off

All racing will be done with the "tuning prohibited" option selected, the only options that can be adjusted are brake balance and the power limiter. We will set the room PP restriction to the value of the car when it is brand new + oil change, not the value of the car when it's fully broken in. These features will allow easy access to anybody wanting to race: no need to spend hours breaking your car in and tuning it. Instead you can buy the car, change the oil and immediately go racing!

~SYNOPSIS~

Buy the car(s) listed below, change the oil, add ORCA_Champ on PSN, show up on Tuesday and Saturday to go racing! No commitment, no points, no complicated procedures, just good competition with some of the cleanest and friendliest racers on GTP. No membership or registration required, this is open to everyone on GTP that holds themselves to the OLR and the Good Racecraft Guide. Join us for some simple, clean racing with the best cars GT5 has to offer!

Note: This club/format is intended to be flexible, it will be molded/adjusted based on experience and feedback. Feel free to share your thoughts or opinions. If you like something let me know, if you dislike something don't be afraid to speak up. If you have some ideas for future cars or themes share them here and we'll discuss them as a group.

If any drivers prove to be a problem on track they will be given a couple verbal warnings as well as some friendly instruction. If the problems continue they will be removed from the lounge's friends list and will no longer be able to participate. These sanctions will be determined on a case by case basis.

• CAR(S) OF THE MONTH - APRIL •

WEEKS 1 & 2: AUDI TTS '09 - 446PP - SH TIRES

WEEKS 3 & 4: MAZDA ROADSTER TC - 479PP - CS TIRES

This month will be split between two different cars. Weeks 1 and 2 will feature the '09 Audi TTS on SH tires and weeks 3 and 4 will see action in the Mazda Roadster TC (DLC) on CS tires. These cars will not be raced against each other, everyone will be in Audi for the first two weeks and then switch to the Roadster TC for the final two weeks. Each car will be restricted to a PP value that is equal to the new car plus one oil change, this will make it very easy for someone to buy the car and come racing without being at a disadvantage because their car isn't broken in.

~MONTHLY SCHEDULE~
March 5th - March 30th

Each week of the month will feature a selected track. All racing for that week will take place at that track, we will not change between tracks during the night. The theory behind this is that we continue to gain experience with that car/track combo both through the night and throughout the week, hopefully leading to better and better racing.

Week 1 - Audi TTS: Daytona Road Course (April 2 & April 6)
Week 2 - Audi TTS: Indy Road Course (April 9 & April 13)
Week 3 - Roadster TC: Nurburgring GP/D (April 16 & 20)
Week 4 - Roadster TC: Monza (with chicane) (April 23 & 27)

Excellent graphics Brandon, well done:tup:👍 Oh yeah, the racing should be fun too:sly:

Thanks. I'm still adding some of the fine details so it will likely evolve a little bit. If you see anything wrong or out of place let me know and I'll get it corrected/adjusted. The concept is all there though. 👍

We will officially begin this Tuesday, March 4th. The lounge will open around 7:30pm EST and racing will commence at 8pm. We will keep racing as long as enough people are in the room to race and likely end our evening with a fun oval race at Indy, Daytona, Motegi or Route X. 👍

And Saturday...

^There may be plenty of Wednesday racing as well. Since we're not bound by a format or schedule we can race whenever, but Tuesday's and Saturday's will be the guaranteed times that I will be hosting. If somebody else wants to host another "official" slot we can always add more race days to the week, I can only commit to the two though. I presume Monday's will be a no-go since a lot of us will be in JP's DeadNutsEven races.

Anybody can open the lounge whenever they want for practice or racing though, just make a post here to let others know! 👍

I usually get off of work at 8pm est :(

When do you get home? The racing will probably keep going until 9:30 or 10pm every night with a new race starting every 10-30 minutes so you could join in whenever you get home. 👍

I will be in the lounge this evening for some practice and racing if anybody is interested. I will race using the lounge ID so I can accept friend requests if any new drivers would like to join us. The lounge should be open around 7:30pm EST, if you wanna join just send a friend request to ORCA_Champ. 👍

I would like to join this.

You're in. Just send a friend request to ORCA_Champ and you can join us any time. I will be online in about 30 minutes to accept any friend requests and open the lounge.

I just walked in the door with food in hand...I'll finish up eating and see if you guys are still in the lounge...👍👍

Some great racing tonight, lots of close finishes!

B,

Looks like I will make the first week of racing... In the 3rd post, you have the date of the first race as March 4th, which I just assumed was a Tuesday since I work on the 4th, but it's actually a Monday. The first Tuesday of the month will be March 5th.

Some good racing again tonight even at Tsukuba...lol. Haven't seen Nic-KL or Mudd since back in the Capp Cup days....God that seems like 5 years ago!!!

Sounds absolutely awesome & right up my street! Unfortunately the racing will start at 1am UK time, so I'll be fast asleep by then, nevermind. If you ever race on Saturday or Sunday afternoons EST, let me know please.

I've added this club to the GRG list, all the best with it in the future. 👍

In that case I might just have to join you guys for a few! :D

Please do! Our Saturday time slot is specifically so we can get some Euro-friends racing with us, should be early evening your time so hopefully we'll see you on track. 👍

I do plan on holding some racing this Saturday, should be on around 2:30-3pm EST (around 8pm UK time). Hope to see some old and new faces on the track!

Since it's not an "official" event yet we can go to a circuit that isn't on the schedule......any suggestions?

I only like to race on real world tracks. Daytona Road is my favourite course, but I like all the others too. Any real world track would be awesome!

I'll send an add to both your lounges soon. And by the way, I'll be in the 86 GT. :D

^ I generally stick to real world tracks most of the time, with Grand Valley being a regular exception. I think most of the GT original tracks aren't very good, some are fun to drive but most aren't very good for quality racing. Rome is another exception, it's not as good as real world tracks but usually makes for some pretty good racing. Clubman can be pretty good too. But with the limited selection of tracks in the game I do eventually get bored of the real circuits and occasionally branch off to a GT original for a change of pace.

I love all the world & City tracks, most of the Original tracks are not for me though, including Grand Valley. See y'all Saturday I hope. :D
