The Hot Hatch League (HHL) was established by Conza and cgg. It's a group dedicated to all hot hatch racing, FF, 4WDs, MRs and FRs if they qualify as hatches.

Series 1 was a huge success, establishing the league and having a jolly good time doing it chaps, this time we're doing...

'4WD Super Hot Hatches'

Series 2
Still subject to minor alternation, see car list below for specific config
  • Type of Car - 4WD Hatchback
  • PP limit - 512PP
  • Power limit - 477BHP
  • Weight limit - Minimum of 1290kg
  • Tyre limit - Sports Soft

NOTE: The main consideration is PP, due to power and weight causing unfair dis/advantages for certain hatches.

~415BHP and 1300kgs should put you at 512pp for most cars.

To Enter

If you're new the league, please post your interest here, FR PSN Conza_No1, and be sure to state your GTP and PSN in your post if it isn't listed on your GTP account.

If you participated in enough Races in the 5 rounds in Series 1, you're automatically entered into Series 2.

This Series is also a Team Series. Series 1 was all 1-on-1 racing, this time due to there being so few 4WDs, and for something diferent, we'll be pairing up, both racing each round as individuals, but also scoring points in teams.

Prepare a car that matches the defined config, then join in the practices, and most importantly the Races at the scheduled dates and times.

How it runs

  • There'll be 5 rounds in Series 2, event times are currently scheduled over April and May
  • 2030 UTC is when the Lounge opens for official practices and races, with a start time of 2200 UK SMT (1600 US EST and 0700 AEST the next day).
  • Each event consists of two races, Race A and Race B, each with a Qualifying event.
  • Qualifying A takes place first, this forms the grid, set fastest first for Race A.
  • Race A occurs, the results from Race A double as Qualifying B.
  • There is a short recess, followed by Race B, which concludes the round.
  • Races laps will vary from event to event, in order to achieve a roughly equal 'combined race distance' per round

Me?

I want to drive the Golf R, or Subaru Impreza. Dano, both cars are similar so you decide which manufacturer. VW or Subaru?

All VW's should be together Conza.

As I said, I'm not fussed. They are both as good as each other. I'll give you more details in a bit.

With the setups that I have, the Subaru has 370 BHP whereas the VW has 419BHP. This is quite a large difference, and the weight doesn't appear to be right, but they are. The Subaru wighs 125xKG but the VW weighs 128xKG. The Golf is a little quicker in a straight line, but the Subaru has much better brakes and handling.

The cars are almost identical round most tracks. I prefer the Subaru, it suits me more, but as I said, you choose.

Conza - those race times aren't appropriate for any other nation, as they are very late over here, an me only being 14 years old, means that I don't want to be starting a race at that time, and also, the meeting is right on dinner time for Americans. A lot of interest will be lost, and only Asian and Oceanic players will want to race at those times. Sorry, but I can't see those times working at all. It's up to you though, but if it is at that time, I know I won't be racing, and I'm sure many others won't.

Yes, but I prefer the Subaru. It handles better. You decide though. It'll be easier to sort it out if we drive the Impreza aswell because the Golf is DLC.

Team WRX STI updated. Golf R 'provisionally' updated, I may change cars depending on new applicants, ect

So, when would a friendly 'track taster' time be suitable? Shall we say, next Friday night at the proposed time? I've adjusted the time to be 1 day before and 1 hour later than Series 1.

I haven't done a poll as I discussed elsewhere, but Series 1 ran, and is still running at Sunday morning / Saturday night

1530 US EST / 1930 UK BST / 0630 AEST / - Lounge opens
1600 US EST / 2000 UK BST / 0700 AEST / - Qualifying A
1620 US EST / 2020 UK BST / 0720 AEST / - Race A + Qualifying B
1635 US EST / 2035 UK BST / 0735 AEST / - Intermission
1640 US EST / 2040 UK BST / 0740 AEST / - Race B
1700 US EST / 2100 UK BST / 0800 AEST / - Round Finish

For Series 2 (and the open track practice, once I pick the tracks) I'm proposing at Saturday morning / Friday night

1530 US EST / 2030 UK BST / 0730 AEST / - Lounge opens
1600 US EST / 2100 UK BST / 0800 AEST / - Qualifying A
1620 US EST / 2120 UK BST / 0820 AEST / - Race A + Qualifying B
1635 US EST / 2135 UK BST / 0835 AEST / - Intermission
1640 US EST / 2140 UK BST / 0840 AEST / - Race B
1700 US EST / 2200 UK BST / 0900 AEST / - Round Finish

Just like Saturday night, Friday night isn't a school or work night, and I'm assuming that anyone old enough to play GT5 can stay up to 10pm in the UK, doesn't mind waiting til after 5pm (or later) to have dinner in the US, and can manage an 8am start in Australia. 8:30 was my top preference, except 11pm seemed to be too late for some of the younger UKers.

The Series 2 tracks will be revealed in 15 hours.

Hope to see atleast the three of us who've signed up, there.

Golf R 512PP Specs
Purchase all parts (except chassis re-inforcement)

BHP: 420
Weight: 1296kgs
PP: 512

EDIT: Golf R Shared, enjoy the tuning I've done with it so far (splicing other peoples together). I don't think the LSD is right, but potential team mates, please take her out and see if you can improve it, just leave Set C as I left it ;)

EDIT 2: For now, I'm sharing all of the cars as I'm finished with them, I may have to dupe the cars a couple of times so that other people can have them (save, send, delete, replace, duped).

Me and Dano have different weight and power, to suit our driving styles. The cars also look slightly different, so that is why I want a picture of both people's cars. In 3:2 lol.

I'm am very happy with that proposed time on a Friday night. It works perfectly.

Not compulsory, but it's encouraged :) You guys can be Budweiser Subaru, or Promite Subaru (both UK so I'm guessing both would like to use a UK product as a sponsor). Or no Sponsor, just Team Subaru, anything really, up to you.

I would love to use numbers as well, but these cars can't be numbered, I'm 47 (After Rossi/Lorenzo who are 46 and 48, the average being 47), and I know that Cgg is 48 (after Jimme Johnson(?)).

EDIT: 1: I just ran the R32, and I have to say, it was so SO close to the Golf R, it was almost unbelievable, I came in with a photo finish with my Ghost PB Golf R, and WON by 0.008 seconds! This PP must be so dead on! The Golf R had 4 more bhp and 4 'less' kgs, but the R32 IV (on the same transmission, same upgrades, no chassis reinforcement for either), was quicker on the final striaght. So glad we're running PP this time around.

The WRX was very close too (not quite as close), the TRZ I got annoyed with after I tried to tune it, and that's all I've done so far (I think).

EDIT 2: In PDs 'infinite' wisdom, I'm only allowed to set 6 of the cars online. So, I'll not set the premiums or the DLC cars, and instead post all of the car specs up here shortly AND share the rarer, standard cars which people can't get.

Do we not get to choose specs? That would be much more interesting, aslong as they fit to 512 pp.

Our cars are yellow, so can we be called Seibon Racing? They have made a yellow Subaru in the past.

Sure, all good.

You may, propose some specs if you'd like, but I've got that Subaru (which at the same bhp per tonne, has a huge advantage) to a point where I think its not too fast or slow at the specs I've set. Did I post its specs yet?

EDIT: It's basically get it to 512, where if you increase the ballast by 1 kgs or reduce the power limiter by 0.01% and turns to 511. Most cars its the other way, where the reverse puts it to 513.

With proposed specs I'd need fine details so I could test the car and see how it performed versus my current benchmark, but I don't see how any 'reasonable' specs should be turned down necessarily. You could even run seperate specs between racers in the same team (one lighter, one more powerful, ect).

So far, I've got Fuji Speedway F. There are a few others I have in my head, which I can't put a name to at the moment (know the track, but don't know its name).

I'm open to suggestions, only thing, no Route X, or High Speed Ring (unless we must) or Nurinburg, or Cape Ring variants, or Night Stage, or Suzuka, or critically...

Any track from Series 1.

So now that that narrows it down, please fire away :)

Ok, I'm shaking up the entire Series with this announcement.

I'm introducing 'soft' Rally Cars.

What does this mean? Well, some of the cars that were formerly in, weren't light enough and/or powerful enough, but I started seeing that some (like the Lancia) had rally version, one thing lead to another, and now we have 16 cars in total, many of which are rally cars.

I'm going to be taking photos and updating the OP with the specs of all of the cars, yes, some of them will have room to change if you want a heavier/more powerful and likewise, a lighter/less powerful version.

Aero, is now 'optional', but I don't reccomend it.

The Rally cars (assuming we get enough people participating) will naturally all have better cornering, tighter chassis's, and likely less power but much less weight.

Stay tuned for more info, P.S. none of the currently assigned teams are affected.

I'll update the OP later tonight, for now may I present!

I thought there was a weight and power limit in the OP. Many of those cars break the weight limit.

Conza, I thought that we could have any specs, as long as they reached 512pp, because, that would be much more fun, and just as fair really. Me and Dano have very different specs, but when driving round Deep Forest, the cars are identical. Plus, with my specs, the car is suited to the way I drive, and Dano's specs are more suited to his style. I think these rules will be too strict, and very easy to break.

This is baseline specs above.

The OP has been updated now, to reflect a range of BHP and weight, I'm not sure if I set the lower limit, but its basically going to be 350bhp - 474bhp (which is special for the Brera).

The Subaru is a very special case, its so much faster than the other cars, that I've had to 'nerf' its specs, to be the lowest 512pp I could find, and in stock form, it was still right with my tuned Golf R on the same largest track. With a tune it'll still be faster.

However, you may propose new specs, I'll trial them, and if they're reasonably close (even if possibly faster than the Golf R), I'll accept them. I would also like the tune thats used, so please post the specs with the tune as these ones are.

EDIT: Also, with any proposed WRX spec, 512pp has to be 'just' achieved (any more weight or power limited down, will set it to 511).

Thanks Quade, OP updated to reflect that, also updated to include team structure for newly added cats.

April 5th is a long way away, not 100% but if Spatt and husamone sign up together, wed probably only need one more team.

Important Notice:

Could all members who participated in Series 1 please send me a picture of there car, in motion, in aspect ratio 3:2. I plan on making an HHL tuning garage, so a picture is vital. Also, could you send me a list of the parts used, and the setup used. Also if you plan on driving in Series 2, I will also need a picture of your car, in aspect ratio 3:2, the parts used, and the setup used, for the tuning garage.

Thank you

9 days to go (tentatively) and still plenty of potential teams.

From the people I've spoken too, we should have another 1 and a half teams (three more people) so if we could get 4 more people (and all of them to post interest), that'd be excellent, then they'd just need to pair up.

The four of us already registered, are a given.

There's also Spatt, who I'd imagine is a virtual definite... actually that's about it, the other two I just looked up, can't make it.

But still, Spatt will need a partner, and after that we'd need two more to fill another team.
