Drawing inspiration from the first championship idea I had before arriving on GTPlanet, I present the following spot race idea. Here are the even details:
Dream Car Le Mans 500 - can be either a 500-kilometer or a 500-mile race.
37 laps for 500km, 60 laps for 500 miles (5-hour time limit for latter distance)
Class structure is inspired by the 2000s FIA GT championship and is as follows (specs listed in parentheses):
Dream Car GT1 (650HP, 1000kg)
Dream Car GT2 (550HP, 1000kg)
Tires allowed: Racing Soft, Medium and Hard. Softs for qualifying, Mediums and Hards for the race, and you must use one set of each of the latter two compounds during the race.
Cars for each class are as follows:
Dream Car GT1
Chevrolet Camaro LM Race Car
Chevrolet Corvette C5-R
Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (C6) RM
Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 (C6) RM (<650HP to be eligible in GT1)
Chrysler Viper GTS-R #51
Citroën GT Race Car
Dodge Challenger TC
Dodge Viper GTS-R #91
Ford GT LM Race Car
Ford GT LM Race Car Spec 2
Ford GT LM Spec 2 Test Car
Jaguar XJ220 LM Race Car
Lamborghini NOMAD Diablo GT-1
Nissan GT-R Concept LM Race Car
Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 TC
Nissan GT-R R35 TC
Nissan 350Z Concept LM Race Car
Nissan Fairlady Z Concept LM Race Car
Pagani Zonda LM Race Car
Dream Car GT2
Audi R8 LMS (blank and Team Playstation versions are eligible)
Chevrolet Camaro SS RM (550HP or less for GT2, can be tuned up to 595HP for GT1, but due to the heavier weight, it wouldn't be very competitive in GT1)
Honda NSX-R LM Race Car
Honda NSX JGTC/SUPER GT (all versions eligible)
Honda HSV-010
Lexus SC430 SUPER GT (all versions eligible)
Mazda RX-7 LM Race Car
Mazda RX-7 TC (ballast needed to reach minimum weight requirement of 1000kg)
Mazda RX-8 LM Race Car
Nissan Silvia Spec-R AERO (S15) RM
Nissan Skyline GT-R JGTC (all versions eligible)
Nissan Skyline GT-R R32 TC
Nissan Skyline GT-R R33 TC
Nissan GT-R SUPER GT (all versions eligible)
Nissan 350Z SUPER GT (all versions eligible)
Toyota Supra JGTC/SUPER GT (all versions eligible)
TVR Tuscan Speed 6 RM (550HP or less for GT2, ballast needed to reach minimum weight requirement of 1000kg)
In the interest of keeping as diverse a grid as possible, the following rules regarding vehicle selection will apply:
Limit of 1 per vehicle with a fixed car #. Once that number is spoken for, it's spoken for. Rule is void for cars that have different numbers and colors available, like the Mazda RX-7 race car.
Limit of 2 per vehicle with a changeable #. Please state what # is on the car you plan to enter. If you're number is taken and you can change it, do so.
For 4WD cars, at least 80% of the power must go to the rear wheels.
Other rules:
All aids except TCS (max. 2) and ABS (max. 1) are not allowed.
Mechanical Damage: Heavy, meant to encourage clean racing.
Slipstream: Weak
Tire Wear/Fuel Consumption rate: Normal
Boost: Off
8 cars per class
Event Start time, including practice & qualifying: 16:00
Time Progression: 1, or whatever rate would allow a daytime start and a nighttime finish
Weather at start and change rate: TBD, am open to ideas.
I'm looking to host the event some time after the current WSC season closes so my schedule will be more open. Looking to hold the event on the 21st at the earliest. More details to come.
