RULES AND REGULATIONS
GTP OLR
APPLIES AT ALL TIMES
QUALIFYING
Qualifying will be a 30 min session hosted in my private lobby using 'free run'.
In this session your fastest lap time will count.
If you are happy with your best lap and wish to stop driving please drive to the pits and press pause.
At the end of the session any lap started before the end of session is called can be completed.
I will then note my best lap and then use the 'watch race, live timing feature' to note everyone else's lap time.
!STAY ON TRACK WHILE I DO THIS AS IF YOU ARE NOT I MAY NOT BE ABLE TO SEE YOUR TIME!
I will then leave the lobby to open the public race room.
The public race room will be set to allow as many drivers as qualified.
If you arrive after I have left the qualifying room you will miss out!
As qualifying can only be done using free run there is no way for me to save replays to check for blocking / corner cutting / ETC. So please be sensible and if anyone sees someone doing so please report it so that we can keep an eye on that driver, too many reports of the same driver will result in penalty
RACE PROCEDURE
GRID ORDER
Grid order will be set to fastest 1st.
Drivers will have joined track when called during spec checks and should stay in the pits.
Drivers will then be called to track in grid order.
Drivers should then drive out the pits and park on track at the end of the pit lane in grid order.
START
The start will be using the standing start with false start check feature as I think this is the easiest way and saves confusion with rolling starts.
Once moving you are expected to race hard but fair!
The start of the race usually is a bit tricky as all the cars fight for turn 1.
You are expected to make it your number 1 job to get through turn 1 cleanly!
This does not mean I expect you not to try to gain places as we all will but IF you are deemed to have caused an incident doing so you will be penalized!
DURING
Lucky for me the
GTP OLR covers most of this section for me 👍
You are free to choose which tires you want to use, there are 2 compounds to allow freedom of strategy but
DO NOT have to use both compounds.
On A straight FIA rule's apply!
I.E. ONLY 1 DEFENSIVE MOVE (NO WEAVING ON THE STRAIGHTS)
ONCE YOU HAVE MADE YOUR 1 MOVE YOU MUST THEN LEAVE SPACE FOR A CAR WHEN YOU MOVE BACK
The track limits are defined by the white line!
On pit entry and exit you must keep all 4 wheels inside the white pit line.
Pit lane lines may vary for some tracks so please read the next race information post.
Track limits will be strictly policed!
LAPPING
If you are being lapped then you are expected to let the lapping car past with minimal time loss for both yourself and the lapping driver.
The lapping driver should also make sure that he passes without costing anyone any time!
Ignoring this rule and costing a lead car time (or if you are the lead car and cause a collision) penalty will be applied.
MISTAKES HAPPEN
If you have made a mistake and have left the racing line you are expected to take care when rejoining the racing line as there may be other cars there already.
If a driver infront has made a mistake and has left the racing line this does not give you automatic right to the racing line so be cautious and be ready to allow the lead driver to return safely.
If an incident occurs in this situation then both drivers will be looked at to see what they did to try to avoid the contact.
Gap between cars, speed and exact position of both cars will be looked at when dealing with this type of incident and penalty applied accordingly.
I.E.
If the lead car (making the mistake) comes straight back onto the racing line that a following car already has then that driver will receive a penalty.
If the following car does not have the line and causes a collision (so long as there was sufficient reaction gap) then this driver will receive the penalty.
If neither driver makes any effort at all to avoid the other (or there wasn't sufficient reaction gap) then it will be deamed a racing incident and no penalty will be applied.
RETIRING FROM THE RACE
If you wish to retire from any race you will do this by driving to the pits and pressing pause.
Any drivers that leave the track will be considered as 'rage quitted' and will receive a penalty of 2 championship points.
AFTER THE RACE
After the race will will do a post race spec check, to avoid anyone gaining an advantage by using a new car for each race and running it in during the race and gaining power throughout the race.
This will be done as soon as everyone is returned to the lobby.
Anyone who either enters their settings or leaves the lounge will be assumed as avoiding the extra spec check and may be disqualified from the race result.
If you disconnect before the spec check has been done we will require a picture of the disconnection message
"you have been disconnected from the server"
On this screen you are asked to press X to continue, so before you do this you need to either get a screen shot or find a camera to take the picture of your TV.
If this is done and the picture sent to the head steward then penalty will be avoided.
This is because you could just quit the game or turn your PS3 system off to avoid the spec check
DISCONNECTION PROCEDURE
This can be a bit of a grey area with varied opinions but I am going with mine.
In the event of a disconnection the race will immediately be red flagged.
I will drop straight off track once I have noted my current position and announce the red flag.
All drivers that are left in the race should drive to the start/finish straight under yellow flag conditions (no overtaking) and then park in your respective grid box so I can note the starting order.
I will then give the order for all drivers to drop off track to start the restart procedure.
As for the disconnected drivers, they will need to know what position they were in prior to disconnection, other drivers may help with this.
If less than 70% of the race has been completed then the race will restart following a 10 min break.
If more than 70% of the race has been completed the the race will not restart and half points will be awarded.
Laps completed will then be deducted from the total with allowance for the 10 min break.
Drivers in this time should join the track and stay in pits until all drivers have returned or the 10 min is up and restart procedure begins.
This procedure will also be used during qualifying although drivers can stay on track so not to lose their time
but must be parked in the pits
If less than 20 min of qualifying has passed then the session will be restarted after 10 mins with only the time passed at time of disconnection being taken off the remaining qualifying session meaning a 10 min delayed start.
If 20 min or more of Qualifying has passed then the session will not restart and the grid will be set using the driver positions prior to disconnection but the start will not be delayed by more than 10 min.
Disconnection / black screen at race start will mean full restart procedure will be put in place with a 10 min delayed start.
During the 10 min delay the disconnected driver(s) will be expected to take this time to do a full router and PS3 reset and clear their cache and rejoin.
RESTART PROCEDURE
Grid order will be set to fastest 1st
Drivers will be expected to leave the pit lane and line up at the end in order of position before restart/disconnection.
You will probably know what position you should be in but I will type the order in the chat box.
Please do not use the chat during this time as it will move fast.
SUCCESS BALLAST SYSTEM
As we have cars spec'd using the in game pp system this will be done by reducing the podium place's pp as follows
1st: -6pp
2nd: -4pp
3rd: -2pp
This pp will be reduced for the next race and will keep carrying over race by race until the driver finishes off the podium (meaning a 1st + 2nd + 3rd + 4th would mean a 6pp drop for race 2, a 10pp drop for race 3, a 12pp drop for race 4 and then the car will be reset to spec pp after the 4th place finish). I am hoping that this will ensure that no one driver can run away with the championship too easily 👍
POINTS SYSTEM
Points will be awarded using the official FIA GT1 World Championship system.
They will be awarded to the driver
Independents (max 4 FT only)
team (2 drivers per team only)
manufacturer (max 3 each)
for their finishing position in the race.
AS FOLLOWS:
1st: 25 points
2nd: 18 points
3rd: 15 points
4th: 12 points
5th: 10 points
6th: 8 points
7th: 6 points
8th: 4 points
9th: 2 points
10th: 1 point
The team and manufacturer points will be awarded using the points scored by the drivers.
