Does anyone else miss the "today's special" area of the rim shop in GT4 (different manufacture rims including all full race cars) and hope for a similar rim shop in GT6?

That will be awsome i remmeber back in gt4 all the different combinations i did like a stagea whit r34 rims and some cars whit the buick gnx rims

There's no reason IMO that they could not have implemented more rims (as in GT4) into GT5, let alone the upcoming GT6 title.

I think it will make a come back. As you can see from the picture of the presentation at Silverstone, the wheel list has the Alfa Romeo 8C wheels, 86GT wheels, and possibly more. It also looks like widths and diameters may also be an option.

It was one of the cooler features in GT4. It was slightly unrealistic in that any wheel could be put on (almost) any car by magically scaling to fit, but there are plenty of replicas being made these days anyway.

Maybe they will allow us to sell our stock wheels on some kind of market place? That'd be interesting. I love doing OEM swaps, it's strangely comforting to my OCD in that I know that the wheels kinda still belong.

If the wheel shop allows for different sizes, this might get messy though. Still, replicas. (But in that case, it shouldn't be "wheel of the day" any more, but as a separate shop, perhaps - or maybe you get "wheel chips" when you buy a car?! :dopey:)

As unrealistic as it was, I still loved it. Some OEMs produce better looking wheels than what's available aftermarket.

This would be amazing

Regarding GT4 wheels... I think I've quoted this image like a dozen times on GTP already and I'll never stop quoting until we get something similar again in GT.

It was... amazing. I really hope PD does it again in GT6.

Steelies. On. Everything! :D

Am I the only 1 who likes those blue mitsubishi rims

Stop wasting time building helmets and racing suits, and make more wheels. +1 ... Why do we have suits and helmets, different horns... Its stupid. :P

Considering that wheels are one of the biggest and most common things people do to personalize their cars (and how drastically they can alter the look), I really hope PD puts a lot more focus into this aspect as they've already claimed they're doing. OEM swap wheels and a greater selection of wheels from manufacturers (as well as swapping racing wheels with other racing cars) would be awesome and would, in many regards, numb other customization elements that might end up lacking. For me, as long as they have a good wheel selection (SPEEDLINES!) then I could care less about a livery editor or body kits (though those will also be nice)

I truly miss those RAYS rims from Nismo R34 R-tune or R32 S-tune!
In GT5, I could hardly find a rim choice that could fit my liking for my R34.
Hope they could make a return in GT6, and with different colours, width and diameter to choose from! :)

I haven't seen that Mags/Rims shop in GT4 but once it's there in GT6, I hope it includes tires too with different sizes & thickness and also, off-road mags can be great, too.

I do hope this happens. If only we had a similar ability to choose exhaust tips and diameters!

Which in turn, would affect the engine sound and performance.

Actually, not by much. Not the tips, anyway. But the rest of the exhaust, maybe. I think the visual, aural and performance aspects can realistically be three separate areas of customisation. There's also the intake side of things, too.

Now thats to much... I doubt were going to see this 👎 nor do i want to see this..

It's really not too much just to have the choice between the visual parts that are available. Some of them were horrid in GT5; it was particularly annoying when the exhaust that sounded best had the worst looking tips on.

It's also perfectly possible to change the sound arbitrarily, but we'll have to see what these improved sounds are before we can guess whether we'll get that ability.

I do hope the wheel selection is better than what's in Gran Turismo 6. These wheels are just a poor excuse for "customization".

Can't wait to make an OEM+ Mk5 Golf :D

Loved this part of GT4. Don't know why it was so hard to implement the same in GT5?

More than racesuits I'd prefer gorgeous wheels!

I've added RIMS to my car in real, so when playing the game, wouldn't it be 10 times more exciting to put a RIM out of so many choices?

I'm with you all on this, gt5 was a huge let down in the customization department in general. Not enough different wings or body kits to choose from. FAR from enough different rim styles to choose from, there needs to be hundreds of new aftermarket rims and on top of that bring back the used rim dealership. Randomly selcted rims taken from the cars in the game that cycle over like the used car dealership.

It would also be nice if wheels were considered like the tuning parts in that if you want to have an inventory you can. Install them on a car and if you decide to change back to stock wheels or something else, they go into your inventory for use on another car or if you decide you don't want them anymore you can sell/delete them.

This was my favourite feature in GT4. Putting BMW CSL wheels on other BMWs was my most common swap. The white Peugeot steel wheels was always a good look, too.
