Hello everyone.

As most of you know, I started the Weekly Race Series almost 1 year ago. It has seen its share of highlights and lowlights, but has been a pleasure to run. But now it's time for me to move on.
My lifestyle has gone through some changes and finding time to run the Weekly has become difficult. As some of you have seen with my late postings of results these past few weeks. My appologies for that.

So, I would like to hand the reins over to someone else. Someone that has shown desire, dedication and a positive attitude and made honest contributions to GTPlanet and the Weekly Race Series.

I will run the Weekly for a few more weeks until a candidate is found. If no proper candidate is found, then the Weekly Race Series will be retired.

I hope that there are some senior members here that would take over the Weekly Series and have it's year of tradition continue, please send me a PM explaining to me your desire to do so.

I do honestly hope that someone capable will accept as I feel the Weekly Race Series has been a very positive aspect of GTPlanet and online racing in general, and it is with a heavy heart that I tender my resignation.

Hope you get a good offer Boom. There's a few decent members around here who I'm sure will do a great job!

You've done a good job putting up races and results every single week for a year now... for that I applaud you

Hope everything goes well for you in the future :)

And I hope the weekly continues 👍

And NO I'm not offering :D

nor am I offering, but I am sure someone will :)

I've only been in the series for a couple of weeks andits been enjoyable. thank you for doing sucha wonderful job of it BB :)

Boom, this saddens me, badly.

You have contributed so much to the gtp that I know you will always be honored on the weekly race series forum.

As for the sale...

I think the best candidate should be able to ...

Appear on the weekly grounds atleast 4 times a week. (always having a monday and tuesday appearance.)

moderator status preffered.
owns an xport/sharkport.
Dedication on a personal level.
A desire to race and test.
A willingness to work with all participants.

And of course...
Feet big enough to fill boom's shoes.

Good luck, and I hope someone is found soon.

Boombexus, thanks for everything. :D
btw, I would totally offer my services and perfect schedule, but moderator status is really a must.

Oh my god Rob, you suck. :P But understandable.

I would be glad to try and help whoever takes over, but I don't think you or anyone would want to hand the power over to me.

Every week I've sent a little thanks to you Boom for keeping this series going. I'd like to thank you again for running the show. It's been a fun experience and it's helped me learn how to race.

Thanks again Boom! Good luck with everything.

-Dan

I also think a history with the series should be required... if this all limits it too much, my bad.

basically.

Appear on the weekly grounds atleast 4 times a week. (always having a monday and tuesday appearance.)

moderator status preffered.
owns an xport/sharkport.
Dedication on a personal level.
A desire to race and test.
A willingness to work with all participants.

And of course... the will to follow boom's footsteps.

No thanks

:D

I nominate Gokents or UB57 or Famine

Good luck .

@Boom,you can have a rest now :D

This series has really helped this Board get faster compared to the other GT boards so it would be a shame to see it stop. Find a way to keep it going. Thanks Boom. It can be very hard to keep a long running series going. Just think how big this will get when GT4 is out.

Which one of those three is a moderator?

I do think moderator status is of importance, but if I am wrong about that, and mod. status isn't of importance, then I would be honored to take the job.
I really do have the perfect schedule. (no school in the morning + no car to go to work with = Free weekday mornings & school weeknights)

That said...
Later. :)

and boom, thanks again for those challenging races :)

I guess that innocent till proven guilty stuff does carry wieght.

Thanks H.

Glad your staying with us in the series. Regardless of the past. All respects.
And I do accept any nominations. :P

yeah, I'm not pissed off now, had a couple of drinks early on the day and feeling much better, I'm trying to get a friend who has a digi cam to come over here and take the shots...

oh **** I forgot to study for my test tomorrow!!! cya!!!!!!!

As others have said, it would be a shame to see the Weeklys go.. (although I haven't played as big a part as I've often wanted..)

GoKents - You have hereby received my nomination 👍

I think...

GoKents
Talentless
Der Alta
UB57
Famine

would all be good candidates for the job 👍

I think that Lotus350's nominations are all sound, and any of them would make a good job of running the series.

The question is do any of them want to run it? I hope so, but it can sometimes be a thankless task, particularly when things get acrimonious.

I dare say that Boom has been thinking of standing down for some time, but certain people's behaviour in the Week 50 Results thread have surely hastened his decision.

It's been a long time since I entered any of the WRS events (#10) but I'd also like to say thankyou to Boom. You did a fine job for a long time, and have left some big boots to fill.

Boom's done an excellent job. But as for whether or not I would do it, I'd have to think about it.

I'd like to know how it's determined when ranks are increased for a driver.

I'm new here but part of what got me so excited on this msg brd was this weekly and how easy Boom made it for me to join so late in the game (week 48). In 3 weeks I've seen alot of stuff come and go here and Boom has handled it all with stoic aloofness, as any good race organizer should. I'd like to thank Boom for his efforts and I hope this series countinues...I really hope it does!!!!!

Has Famine not seen this yet or just ignoring it !! My vote would go to Famine. I have had nothing but good replies - help - advice from Famine in the past.

Thanks to Boom for the series and a little bit of recent help.

I also want to thank Boom. 👍
Your weeklies is the sole reason, I'm at the planet. The concept with division are brilliant, and have given me as a lesser skilled driver a reason to keep trying a little harder, than I original intended to.
Week after week you have provided lots of fun, variety and challenges, and I've beside of getting my daily dose of GT3, learned allot about different aspect of racing.
Furthermore you have acted as the perfect host. You have taking care of us in a friendly atmosphere and stayed calm, both when we newbies has asked stupid questions and when things has heated up. I personally believe that this attitude is a major reason for the success of the weeklies.

But as this hopefully isn't a funeral speech, I'd also like to assure my support to our future host. After 10 races I'm not done with the weeklies, but intend to race allot more under this concept. :)

I am, in fact ignoring it... :D

Much though I would love to host this - and I don't believe I'd need, or desire, a moderatorshipnessism to do so - I can see the immense proportions of the task leering up at me from the very pits of hell. Although with three people (Mr. P and husband Mr. P still count as separate entities to me at least... :D) putting my name forward I feel a warm glowing warming glow of smugness...

So, in the absence of any other takers I WILL put my name forward and just hope that, if I do end up running it, I can do as good a job as boombexus did/is doing...

Mr P and husband :D :odd:

You better watch that ego of yours Famine :D

smug bastard :P

since I'm unemployed and don't go to school, I guess I have the time, though no xport and a pc that will probably ***** if a new one is installed.

Boom, how does the ranking system work?

Btw, if Famine would like the position I won't contest it.
