HO!!! i believe those are the exhuast pipes. If you don't believe me, turn on GT3, go buy the Impreza JGTC model, and look at its rear end. It has similar holes.

In races, when they pit they need fuel they stick this big thing into the holes to refuel the car.

The JGTC Impreza is a race car, therefore they have those holes to refuel the car.

Actually, you've PWNED yourself, because they are for fuel. It's a plug-in quick disconnect-type fuel inlet with a combined overflow to collect any vapors or fuel that might otherwise spill. Trying to dump 20 gallons of fuel in in 10 seconds with a 700 degree exhaust right below? Scary.

Whats worse is...

I remember some tool in the UK had a small hatchback (I think it was a Vauxhall Nova?) and he ACTUALLY cut holes through the bottom of his car and through the tailgate and had the exhaust pipes (2 of them) come out the back of the car... all because he saw the JGTC cars on Gran Turismo with those holes on the back...

..little did he know they're for refilling the fuel!!! The car was featured in "Max Power" magazine like 6 or 7 years ago.
