Ladies and gentlemen of GTPlanet, this topic came about as I was thinking about something recently and by watching an episode of Speed Channel show "Tuner Transformation." The car that got "tuner loving care" was a 2002 Mazda Miata. Some people claim the Miata is "feminine," like it's a "chick car." Whereas cars like the Camaro and Mustang are girl-getting cars. Someone even said that the Peugeot 206 was pretty feminine as well. But in my view, the girliest car of today has to be the Suzuki Aerio. Yeah, it can be a nice tuner for those who wish to try, but looks pretty feminine regardless (or prove me wrong, tuners!).

The thread is open to discuss cars that are considered "girly" by people. We may have only one active lady on these forums, but the thread is open for discussion of such cars. Tell us which cars are considered "girly." Reply now if you have any to share. And if you don't know, here's a hint. There is a certain car that a lot of people consider girly. It's in Gran Turismos 2 and 3, and has horsepower no less than 100. The car is in "North City" in GT2. Name the car I forgot to mention.

Is it the Pink Yaris ???

Jon - you should put a pic up of the Suzuki Aerio - I'm not sure what it looks like.

The 206 is really girly, along with Polo, Ford KA, Micra etc ... It most of the small cars but then again the Saxo I wouldnt regard as a girly car nor the 106.

miata ive heard from most people say its a girly car to a queer car
ive even heard of c5 vettes being a girly car
3 series bmws i also heard... thats it for now, im dizzy as hell :guilty:

I have the statistics for the most girly cars - the Aerio is about 50-50 men/women.

The girliest is the Volkswagen New Beetle, not surprisingly, and second is the Mini Cooper. Third is no surprise either - the Toyota RAV4, which Toyota redesigned in 2001 simply to appeal to women.

Top = Suzuki Aerio LX; Bottom = Suzuki Aerio SX

Both models are available with all-wheel drive, though I've only seen a few SX's equipped with AWD and I haven't yet seen an LX AWD. At 155bhp, they're actually the most powerful cars available for anything near their starting price - the most basic S model starts at $13000, and spec is pretty good. Aerios are great buys, though they're missing side airbags as a standard feature or an option.

I'd have to say one of the girliest cars ever is the Mustang.:( I'd say 90% of it's owners are 16 year old girls. I see more men driving Miata's than I do Mustangs. Other girly cars include VW Cabrio's, Jeep Wranglers, Beetles, etc.

I'd say the VW Beetle is pretty girly in a certain colors, but other than that, the mustang for sure.

yeah the vase is very girly on the beetles.

I dont think the Aerio looks too girly in the top pic ? It looks weird though like the wheels are too small or the car is too "deep" theres just too much body-work

It's a big tie between the Toyota Echo Hatch (Vitz/Yaris to everyone else) and the Hyundai Accent GSi over here.

Thanks for pointing that out. They do seem tiny when you give the pic a good look.

It's a frequent complaint. The alloy wheels shown are 15" - perhaps a bit small for the class - and the height of the vehicle is 60.8" for the sedan and 61.0" for the wagon, three or four inches above the class norm (designed for headroom and a spacious cabin feel - and it comes through well). Nothing is absurdly out of proportion but the combination of the two do give it a rather odd look. The base model is worse, with 14" hubcaps, and, as much as I like the Aerio, I will say they appear to be the single cheapest things ever:

EDIT: For reference, some popular small sedans and their heights:

Suzuki Aerio: 60.8"
Chevrolet Cavalier: 54.7"
Dodge Neon: 56.0"
Ford Focus: 56.3"
Honda Civic: 56.7"
Hyundai Elantra: 56.1"
Mazda 3: 57.7"
Subaru Impreza: 56.7"
Toyota Corolla: 57.5"
Volkswagen Jetta: 56.7"

1 word.

Lancer.

i have seen SO many girls drive this thing.....its even the most riced out car owned by girls here too.

The mystery car in question was indeed the VOLKSWAGEN BEETLE! You're right!

Okay, continue discussion.

Smart car (ish)
Definatly, without a doubt, the Ford StreetKa. Or the new Diahatsu (sp) small folding roof thing.

The MX5 isn't. I can't remember the last time I saw a girl driving one. Same goes for Lancers and Mustangs, although I can't remember the last time I saw one of those at all.

Civic Del Sol - jus tthe other day, I saw a someone driving one and they had it painted pepto-bismil pink :yuck:

Older miatas were really girly cars. Mazda at least tried to make the newer models look more agressive

Porsche Boxster, Mercedes SLK, Peugeot 206cc, BMW Z3 and Beetle Cabriolet are all cars that I think are a wee bit 'girly'.

Peugeot 206's are definately girly in my opinion especially the soft top one. And there also damn ugly POS in my opinion too.

Oh & smart cars.

I think the original Vauxhall Corsas, look girly too. Always funny especially if you see a "Bad Boy" version

Hey I know lets make my car super original & cool & stick on lexus style rear lights, no one has ever done that before!!11` ;)

Hiya! :D :embarrassed:  Meow! (='.'=)

I would agree like all or most of you! :embarrassed: VW Beetle is what I always get in my mind when I think of "girl cars." Even guys at school would tell me I would look more "normal" if I drove something like a VW beetle or a camry, but I say NOOOO!!! So I drive my 93 LT1 Camaro Z28 and now they think I am just plain crazy!!!! :embarrassed::embarrassed:
I would also like to add that I think that Neons are gurly cars too....:embarrassed::embarrassed::embarrassed: Becuz of the name "NEON" I see alot of cars drive this car as high schoolers and even on the street everywhere I go.

How about this one? Toyota Supra! :embarrassed::embarrassed: My signature is true, I am getting a Supra from my parent for my Bachelor Degree present! I cant WAIT!!! 5 years... Supra was my first pick when my mom offered me to get a used car but she wasnt willing to spend that much for "I will get you a Supra after you accomplish something that will make a difference in life such as a Bachelor Degree"! :embarrassed: So anyways, do you guyz think a Supra is considered a GuuuuUUUuuUUuurrrrrrrrrrrly car? Or is it until I row down the window at the stop light, blow a kiss to you and now would you call ir a Gurrrrrrrrrrly carrrrrrrr? :embarrassed::embarrassed::embarrassed:

Forgot the maker, but one model rings a bell in my mind. That one Echo car. Can't remember the maker 💡 Oh well. That's a feminine car to me. A few other cars I can think of are those hybrid cars that are wanna-be Puegots. Those things are ugly, and feminine.

Yeah, I know this one guy who has owned about a dozen Audis. He's as close to a girl as you can get without actually having the correct genitals.

ANY, SUV.

How do you think we got the stereotype of what the "soccer mom" drives? :dunce:

Other cars that fall into the girliy category are:

  • Mitsubishi Eclipse
  • Toyota Celica
  • VW Cabriolet
  • New VW Beetle
  • VW Jetta
  • Audi A4
  • Any Minivan
  • Lexus SC430
  • Honda Civic
  • Chevy Caviler

Klostrophobic
I find Nissan Titans, Nissan 350Zs, Audi A8s, BMW 740s, Audi A4s, and Mercedes CLK55s to epitomize femininity.
You think your bullpen's bad? You have no ****ing idea what a bad bullpen is, my friend. Our closer has an opponents' batting average of above .300 and an ERA of above 7.00. In about 35 games. He's blown eight saves.

Today, it was the absolute epitome. Following the single worst umpiring call I've ever seen, our star reliever Scott Dohmann and our manager Clint Hurdle were ejected. Steve Reed came in and left 5-4 Cubs. Next inning, Rockies are up. Two outs, Jeromy Burnitz works a walk. The next hitter is pinch hitter Mark Sweeney, who leads baseball in pinch hits, pinch RBIs, and pinch batting average. He sees one pitch and hits it into the right field stands, making 6-5 Rockies. So now we're ahead!

Next inning, Cubs are batting against long reliever Adam Bernero. Nomar leads it off with a double. Next batter, Moises Alou, strikes out or something. Bernero then gets Sosa to fly out, so Garciaparra goes to third with 2 out. So the decision is made to take out Bernero and bring in Shawn Chacon, baseball's very worst closer.

The first pitch is a curveball about eight feet wide of the catcher; Garciaparra scores; game tied at 6. The very next pitch is hit about 420 feet by Aramis Ramirez. Two pitches and now the Cubs are ahead. After a single, Chacon then gives up a 2-run home run to former Rockie and mediocre Cub Todd Walker, making the game 9-6, out of reach.

This is the ninth time Chacon's given a game away. You've got to love it when your "go-to" closer has blown eight saves, has a 1-7 record (his only win was when he gave up a home run to send the game into extra innings and we caught a break and won it in 10) and has recorded exactly three perfect innings all year. Oh, and our manager refuses to release him despite unbelievable pressure citing "we said we'd go with him in November; it's a learning process; even the best relievers blow saves" blah blah blah.

So that's that. 👍 Do you have any idea what I'd give to see the Rockies with the Red Sox record? Consider yourself unbelievably lucky.
