Suggested by emad, we shall give it a try.

This is how this works.

Same rules as the photography contest, except you have to photochop an image you took to meet a certain subject.

Should be cool. 👍

Subject: Take a picture of a car, that's standing still.
Objective: Make it look like it's moving. Accentuate on moving, make sure to add every little detail you can to represent speed and the like.

This is just my opinion, which I know most of you think I'm a nazi, but that's ok.

Doesn't that make it more of a Photoshop competition and less of a photography competition?

yes and no. In this particular case, you're allowed only to use your own photos rather than a predetermined image or downloaded one from the photochop comps.

Not to mention this isn't going to be only cars, it's just I thought that'd be a good theme to start off the competition with.

It doesn't matter if you're using one of your pictures or something from Ansle Adams ... the point of the competition is by definition more about Photoshopping than photography.

You don't seem to care about the car. Meh, a car. A picture of a car. But the objective is all about manipulating the picture with effects, primarily done on a computer with Photoshop (or other photo editing program).

Now, if someone were to take pictures of a car which is standing still but use live special effects to give the appearance of the vehicle in motion, that would be stellar.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's an interesting idea and could be lots of fun. But I think your goal and / or name are missguided.

And extremely hard.

The point is, effects will vary, topics will vary, objectives will vary, and it's all based on a photograph.

We're also not "changing" the image, like in a photochop competitions, we're simply enchaching with various digital effects to create what would seem like a real life effect, without taking away from it still being what it is.

A car standing still.
A car, the same car that you took the picture of, and you worked on, moving.

I supposed it could be classified as a mutation, and a mix, but I don't think it really matters how it's classified.

However, suggestions for the topic are being taken...

I guess basically all I'm asking is that this thread be moved to the photochop sub-forum because it's not really about photography. Sorry I over reacted and made that big obnoxious thread.
