The other day I was in the Used car garage for the 80's and noticed a MX5... so i Bought it thinking that it would be perfect for the NR-A roadster challenge at Mazda, the 80's cup in the Japanese Hall and ultimately the 4 hour Roadster endurance race.

So I kitted it out with everything and some soft sports tyres... (Plus oil change - but no wing)

Turbo wise I stuck a supercharger then stuck a turbo 5 on it from the tuner village.
(So I had the option of immense power and good power.)

So I took the MX-5 to the Mazda hall and did the NR-A challenge and I got 91 points per race with the supercharger installed.

Then I took it to the Japanese Hall and raced in the 80's cup and I got about 120 points per race...

With all the upgrades I obviously had the ability to set the car up to my will so I added some camber angle and increased the spring rates and stiffness of the suspension... Lengthened out the gears and upped the brakes...

But these races were easy... I spooned it a couple of times and went into a few walls and off tracks... but otherwise the car was brilliant and it nailed everyone in these races and gained my amazing A-Spec points... I guess that not tuning it up HP wise fully you will get even more A-Spec points and still easily win.
(I ran all races with Supercharger (Except one that had the Turbo5 but it was far too wheel spinny and probably ended up being slower due to lack of grip))

So look out for this car if you've not done these races and you will be onto an A-spec winner!

The missions also give you a crap load of A-spec points. but the competition is harder.

The max Aspec is 200. You're leaving a lot on the table.

dodge ram, fully upgraded, 700+ HP, special condition tests 200 points each, RIDE THE WALLS

or RE RX-7 JGTC in the tuning cup, 80+ points for a relatively easy win.

No I don't believe it does, I've done some experiments and on most cars flywheel's and clutch upgrades don't change the amount of A-Spec points. In all honestly its a pig of a thing the A-Spec points as there are so many factors it ain't funny.

I am currently attempting the Subaru 360 race and a stock 360 (with all of 16HP) only gets 41 A-Spec points with me not even being able to get pass 5th position due to the evenness of the whole field. How can you possibly get 200 A-Spec points there, sure I could give it the worst tyres but still I doubt it would add up to 200 points.

Like mentioned, the Elise is the true A-Spec beast. I take out anything short of a racecar with mine. No kidding, the Nissan R390 roadcar, any of those silly Mercedes, Ford GTs, anything under the sun. In a 2 lap race, I take almost 10 second advantages over these suckers, 200 A-speccers and 500 Cr.! Oh, I forgot to mention mine is NA, a tad short of 220hp.

Too bad they couldn't have the Caterham participate in anything, I get even better laptimes with that one.

the max A-spec points that you can get in one race is 250 i know this because the missions show at the beggining how many points you can get and it say's 250 but i have the Japanese NTSC game mainly because i had a chipped ps2 and i was able to get it before it came out in the U.K so for the PAL gt4 the maximum amount of A-spec points you can get for a race might be different!

All missions give 250 pts. Ordinary races never give more than 200 pts.

If high A-Spec points races seem too hard for you, TURN OFF THE DRIVING AIDS. You'll be a lot faster without some electronic chip slowing you down where it counts the most, i.e. exiting corners.

I used the Chevrolet Corvette Cabriolet (54, I believe), full suspension and transmission upgrades, full weight upgrades, engine upgrades only chip, balance. Entered manufacturer's race for corvettes and got 194 points per race. All were easy to win except New York (horsepower disadvantage became too great on the long straights). The handling of the car makes it easy to get around other cars in the tight parts of tracks.

those almost does not change A-spec points for everything changed on a MX-5 I lost 3-5 A-spec points at most and gained a huge advantage on short tracks with no long straights without touchiong the hps.
